Welcome to Whispering Bears Chalet, a nature-themed mountain retreat perfectly located on Ski Mountain in Chalet Village great for families, adventurers, friend get aways and couples. Our prime location offers the best of both worlds — from the hot tub and deck enjoy seasonal mountain views through the trees in the winter, a peaceful forest setting in the summer, and a beautiful mountain view at the end of the driveway year-round. It’s the ideal escape for guests who want to feel immersed in nature without sacrificing convenience.
Just 3–5 minutes (less than 1 mile) from Ober Mountain, guests enjoy quick access to skiing, tubing, and year-round mountain attractions, while still being minutes from downtown Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. After a day of adventure, relax in the private hot tub, listen to the sounds of the woods, and enjoy the calm, cozy mountain atmosphere.

I chose a chalet in Chalet Village because it feels like a true home tucked into the heart of the mountains. There's something so peaceful about being surrounded by the forest, with the Smoky Mountains National Park and downtown Gatlinburg just a mile away. It's the perfect mix of nature, adventure, and comfort. I wanted a place where you could enjoy the magic of the mountains — spot a black bear wandering by, sip coffee on a rocking chair, and still be close enough to explore the town or hit the hiking trails. Whispering Bears Chalet became that perfect cozy escape I had always dreamed of sharing.
