Very quaint spot near the beach. It was humid and we had trouble with the front door sticking, but great stay otherwise.

Great house! Host had everything we needed if we needed! Kitchen ware, Towels, linens, beach tags, parking passes, beach chairs, and even shampoos, conditioners and soaps, lotions for use! Thank you! We enjoyed our stay! Blocks from the beach!

Every part of the home said comfort from the sofa, dining and kitchen chairs, to the bedrooms. Easy check in and out. Beautiful beach-y decor. Everything was spotless! Two full bathrooms were definitely a plus. The area is very quiet and we enjoyed relaxing nights on the front porch. And the beach is really a 5 minute walk down the street. The only thing missing were a few more days!

Great Place, serious problems

We just returned from our stay in Ventnor and absolutely loved the location of this property—just a short walk to the beach! The house was well stocked with everything we needed for a beach vacation, including beach tags, towels, chairs, and an umbrella, which we really appreciated. It was very clean, with nice towels and linens. It made our days by the water super easy and enjoyable.That said, we did experience a few major issues during our stay. The front door was extremely difficult to open and close, to the point that we felt it posed a serious fire hazard. We notified the host right away, and while she did offer to send someone to repair it, we declined since we had just arrived after a 9-hour drive and didn’t want to deal with a major construction project at that time.More concerning was that on our second-to-last morning, while we were having breakfast, the cleaning crew entered the home unannounced—even though we weren’t scheduled to check out until the following day. It was an alarming and uncomfortable experience. Unfortunately, the host didn’t seem especially apologetic about either issue, which was disappointing.Overall, this property has a lot of potential and is in a fantastic location, but we hope the safety and communication concerns are addressed for future guests

When I tried to send someone to fix the door, you asked me to not send anyone. The housekeeper was not supposed to arrive the day you were there but unfortunately she was confused on her schedule. That was a complete misunderstanding and as you admitted she is very kind and did not make you uncomfortable. I did apologize for the inconvenience.

Uninhabitable, Unsafe and Unethical - Avoid.

We paid for a 3-night stay and left within 3 hours. Within 30 minutes of entering, all four of us developed headaches; one guest vomited. The odor was so intense we feared a gas leak. The host called the gas company, which dispatched the fire department. I rushed back from the beach to meet them as the host or a property manager was not available to coordinate on site. They confirmed it wasn’t gas but acknowledged a very strong, unpleasant toxic smell. The host’s only solution was to “open the windows” in 90F heat and let a cleaning crew in while we went to dinner. After getting sick and spending hours with responders, that was not reasonable solution. We never unpacked, never stayed the night, and ended our trip.The property is very old and poorly maintained: the front door was nearly impossible to open, the interior doors jammed, the downstairs bathtub was stained, there was water damage on the living-room ceiling, and most importantly the listing photos are misleading.The host never followed up as promised and refused even a partial refund, and Vrbo is extremely slow to assist and has not provided an acceptable solution thus far despite our documentation and the involvement of both the gas company and the fire department. If you value your health, safety, time, and money, look elsewhere.

Nothing about this review is true. It’s sad that you made good on your threat to leave a negative review if I did not offer you a full refund because you and your friends decided you wanted to stay at a different house after the refund period had lapsed. I don’t offer refunds for same day cancellations. There was no gas leak, toxic smell, or any other issue.
