Taino wood was a great place for camping. Chantel and her husband Jesse are great host and are very welcoming and kind. Nice place to enjoy with your family in the nature. There were many tent sites inside their woods and we occupied the site called:Turey.
We set up 3 tents (two 4-people tents and one 6-people tent). There was a firepit we used to cook food and Chantel and Jesse lend us a pot to cook.
Before leaving Chantel, Jesse and a few of their friends sang indigenous songs and played their instruments and were very thankful for our stay and hoped we enjoyed our time which we did.
We stayed one night on the 1st weekend of October which is full moon and they had an event taking place on Saturday, Oct.4 where they celebrate with indigenous music during the day until 10pm but the music was not too loud from where we were staying. If you have more questions in regards to their days of celebration, you can contact the host.
Please pick up after yourselves and you must take your Garbage with you.
During this time of Fall, it gets pretty cold in the night time. Besides your tent, bring enough Blankets, sleeping bag etc.
Jesse offers a round trip with his (UTVs) from the Parking Lot to leave only your belongings closer to your site for a charge of $25. If you choose to walk, it can be a 7-10 min walk with your belongings.
