Cozy OFFGRID Cabin on the River

Immerse yourself in nature. Our fully OFFGRID cabin is situated on a remote, wooded 2 acre lot, yet we are close to town and all amenities.

Enjoy swimming off our sandy shore on York River and shoreside bonfires.

Spend time on the deck or under the covered pergola to enjoy the beautiful woods regardless of weather.

This space is a magical time to unplug. Whether you want to just relax, mushroom hunt, or enjoy all that Bancroft has to offer.

Our property is remote and quiet. You will have all basic amenities needed in our cabin. The cabin is cozy, but very functional. You can walk our beautiful 2km laneway. Our property is wooded and has beautiful views of the York River. While our cabin is not directly on the river due to the ever changing water levels, there is a path through the beautiful woods to reach the river. The water level can fluctuate significantly and a ladder is provided when levels are low. You likely will need to go down a slope to access water over the summer months.
There is plenty of beautiful wild flowers and mushrooms.

There is a full kitchen with plenty of space to cook with a full range and fridge/freezer.
There is a full residential washroom with a sink/vanity, toilet, and full tub/shower combo. There is on demand hot water.
The sleeping loft is open concept 2 "bedrooms" with tall ceilings. While we provide all bedding, hand/dish soap, and toilet paper, we do require guests to bring their own bath towels. There is a smart tv so you can connect to netflix or bring your own fire stick.

Given that we are COMPLETELY OFFGRID electricity is dependent on weather. In the early spring and late fall the hours of sunlight is less and thus affects your supply. PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING ANY TIME IT MAY BE REQUIRED TO USE THE GENERATOR FOR POWER AND/OR TO CHARGE THE SOLAR SYSTEM BATTERIES. Also if you happen to have rainy/cloudy weather during your stay this will also affect the solar energy.
We encourage you to embrace the time to disconnect, however, we do have a backup generator for your use. We are always happy to help, however OFFGRID isn't for everyone, so please keep this in mind when booking our cabin.

Please note: Our cabin is in a remote location. We are situated 2km off the last serviced road down a private unpaved laneway. While cars can access here, it is ideal to have an SUV or truck, especially if there is alot of wet weather. We do suggest arriving before dark the first night.
