Gorgeous location

Charming, super clean, convenient, well-stocked, close to the beach and dune preserve! Spent a weekend here and enjoyed walks to the pier and the lovely view of the lake. Extra-helpful and kind host made for a relaxing time away.

It’s a lovely home and an absolutely beautiful location directly on Lake Michigan!

We had a wonderful weekend even with rainy and windy weather. Brenda could not have been more welcoming or easy to work with and to reach for questions. We can’t wait to get back! It was cozy and inviting and comfortable and accommodated 5 of us easily. Thank you!

A great view and impeccably clean

The location of this property is amazing. You can't beat the shores of Lake Michigan. The property owner was super friendly and communicated all check in/out procedures super clearly...she even gave us recommendations for local events happening during the time of our stay. Super nice lady, very friendly. The house was very clean and had all amenities to keep it clean throughout our stay. A cozy spot that we hope to visit again in the summer.

Gorgeous Lake Michigan Home

Beautiful high end rental home. Top notch kitchen/gas grill- we used the waffle iron, grill, and Keurig. Owner supplied beach towels, tons of outdoor patio seating, and lake toys (boogie boards, etc). Beds are comfy, bedding and towels are high quality. Great location, walking distance to the pier and dune hiking trails. Brenda was very responsive and the whole process was flawless. Will rent again without a doubt!

Fabulous

Our reservation was made only two Weeks before our stay and the owner was incredibly hospitable. She communicated regularly and clearly. She was super friendly in all her communication. The home was a perfect fit for our family! It had everything we needed to visit the beach that is literally in the back yard!!! The view brought mom to tears and the beach had the kids, young and old, smiling all weekend.

Unbeatable view and accommodating and kind host!

We rented the Sandcastle for my parents 50th wedding anniversary and everyone really enjoyed their stay! Brenda was the ultimate host and was extremely communicative throughout the entire booking process and during our stay. She was kind enough to provide multiple recommendations for restaurants, grocery stores, etc which I really appreciated. The property is amazing and you can’t ask for a better view! The beds and linens were really comfortable and the house as spotless. Stay at the Sandcastle, you won’t regret it. I know I’ll be back.

Highly Recommend!

This house was perfect for us. It accommodated our group of seven adults very comfortably. It's in a beautiful location, right on the beach and close to the pier. Sitting out in the yard in the late afternoon/evening was a real pleasure. It's very well equipped and there was nothing we needed that was not available. And one of the most striking features was the hospitality. The host was extremely accommodating and went out of her way to ensure that everything was taken care of. I would highly recommend this house!

What a Terrific Week!!!

What a terrific week on Lake Michigan! The Sand Castle is the ideal place for our multigenerational family of 6 adults and 2 children. The low berm to the beach is our idea of the ideal beach house location. The house was neat, tidy and clean upon our arrival. It is well stocked with the basics and beach toys and chairs. We went to the farmers market on Wednesday and again on Saturday after checking out. The fresh berries and peaches were wonderful. We ate lunch at the Toasted Pickle one day. Good food and reasonable prices. Everyone enjoyed the water and soaking up the sun on the beach. I loved watching the pier and the boat traffic from the deck. We were treated with a Monarch butterfly creating it's chrysalis, and watched it all week. This is the second time we have rented and will definitely be back. Brenda does a great job!

Amazing House with Easy Access to Beach

I will start off by saying, Wow! what an amazing home with gorgeous views of the lake. You never know exactly what you will get when renting a home, however I can say the home is exactly as described and shown in the pictures. The home is beautifully decorated, very clean and spacious. The kitchen comes fully stocked with everything you need to cook meals and has plenty of room to move around. There are 3 bedrooms (master bedroom, queen bedroom and bedroom with two twin beds) downstairs with a full bathroom off of the bedrooms. There is an additional 4th bedroom upstairs with a queen bed and trundle bed. There is a second full bathroom on the first floor directly in the house from the garage which was used by the family that stayed upstairs. There are plenty of bed linens, blankets, bath towels and even beach towels. The house offers plenty of room to spread out with a large family room, a sitting area off of the family room, an area at the bottom of the stairs to the upstairs bedroom which includes board games and a desk.. The garage is huge and includes plenty of chairs and toys for the beach. There is also a large patio area which includes a large table with chairs where we often would sit and eat breakfast, a casual seating area and another smaller table with chairs. There is a grill on the side of the house, however we did not use it during our visit. There is a short private path that leads from the house to the beach. One of the biggest reasons we were so happy to find this house is the short distance to the beach and there are no stairs you have to walk down to access the beach. We enjoyed sitting and relaxing on the beach or walking down to the pier. Brenda is an amazing host, reaching out prior to the start of the trip to welcome us and provide additional information regarding the house and the area such as dining and shopping recommendations. She also touched base with us on the day of our arrival to let us know what time we would be able to access the house and offer any additional information we may need. I highly recommend this home, you will not be disappointed in all it has to offer, the area and the beautiful views. Thank you so much for a wonderful week!

Great Family getaway

Immediate family celebration of my retirement for 4 days. (Husband and I, 3 Adult sons with their partners) Hard to find 4 bedrooms (at least 3 had double to king size beds). The other one had twin beds. Lots of room to spread out in house. Lots of Kitchen and dining stuff to serve meals with. Loved that there was an extra fridge in garage. Loved that the outdoor table seated all 8 of us. House is on a bluff. It is a short walk to the beach, down a bluff path. Had a great bonfire on the beach one night. (Made sure to put it out and cover it with sand). Next morning could not tell it was there. Brenda texted to make sure all was OK. House is a little older, but for a beach house, just right. Would go again if available next year.

Great Home, Great Location, Great Vacation!

The Sandcastle proved to be just what we needed! We had 3 generations under one roof and all enjoyed the house and the property. The location was perfect! The view was fantastic! And the ability to be right on Lake Michigan with an easy walk to the beach can be hard to find. The Sandcastle delivered! There were great hiking trails nearby and lots of exploring to do. And when the weather didn't cooperate, the inviting family room with fireplace was a great place to be. Thank you Brenda for being so easy to work with!

Wonderful Fall Girl’s Trip

Thank you, Brenda, for renting your amazing beach home to me and my 4 girlfriends! For those looking to stay right on the beach, this is the place!! The setting is spectacular. The front of the home faces a dune preserve and the back of the home sits on a low dune that leads to the clean, beautiful beach. The location really can’t be beat! The patio was our favorite place to hang out! The home has multiple outdoor seating areas: a pub table height table, a large dining table, Adirondack chairs, reclining chairs AND chairs around the fire pit! The inside of the house is equally well equipped! So many dishes, beach towels, and pantry staples. The beds were comfy! The 3 bedrooms on the main floor each had a view of the beach and we cracked our windows at night to fall asleep to the sounds of the waves! And we awoke in the morning to two deer literally right outside our windows! The downstairs bedrooms were a bit tighter than I imagined from the pictures but honestly, we spent barely any time in our bedrooms. We hung out in the living room on the huge couch by the fire place, talking and laughing late into the night. I should also add the upstairs bedroom is huge. Brenda was extremely friendly and helpful, from providing local dining suggestions, to offering a late checkout without us even asking! She also quickly (and happily) answered a stupid question I texted her at midnight about the fireplace pilot light. One last point: the house was extremely clean! This is always one of the most important factors when we rent a vacation home! I will definitely return to this house (if it’s not always booked :)). The Fall colors in MI were absolutely breathtaking, but I’m looking forward to returning in the summer with my family to enjoy the beach!

Awesome beach house on one of the best beaches in Michigan

Our stay for our family was wonderful at Brenda's place. She has thought of everything you will need while there. She has included plenty of beach towels, beach toys for our kids, chairs and umbrellas to make your stay easy. The beach is a short walk down a slight dune maybe 50 steps or so to the awesome private beach. No stairs! Also, it is a short walk to the north pier from the beach which we did everyday. The house is well equipped with anything you would need in the kitchen including a Keurig and a blender for my smoothies. The kitchen is awesome in that it is very open to the living room. The huge couch made it comfortable for us all to hang out. The house has good WiFi and a good HD cable package which came in handy for entertaining my kids and staying up to date with work. The house also has a ton of board games for family fun. Beds were comfortable and especially enjoyed the king size in the master bedroom. Also plenty of toiletries were included which is not always the case with rentals. The patio overlooking the water is spectacular. The amount of seating options on the patio is awesome. Brenda really has thought of everything for your stay and what a high end experience should be. The water and sandbars are great for swimming. I caught some waves on my boogie board a few days and enjoyed watching the surfers down the beach. My kids played all day in the sand and water. The 3 car garage has plenty of space for bikes etc. We wish we could return every year. This is the best beach/house combination in this price range we have rented on Lake Michigan.

Perfect home and beach location

This was our first year staying at the Sand Castle. We loved every part of this beautiful home. The view of Lake Michigan is fabulous and includes a great beach. The home has a beautiful porch with tons of eating and seating areas. The home is amazing place to stay with comfy beds, great rooms to hang out with friends and family and a well stocked kitchen. The home is very clean and updated and stocked with games and videos. I highly recommend this home to anyone who wants a vacation on the beach in a great town with fun restaurants and great local shopping. My family has already booked for next year!! Thank you Brenda!

Stunning

This was our first year staying at the Sand Castle. We loved every part of this beautiful home. The view of Lake Michigan is fabulous and includes a great beach. Outstanding value

I have to agree with other reviews - the location and outdoor patio are excellent for enjoying Lake Michigan. Great beach area at the water's edge. The house worked well for our family of grandparents, married children and two grand children. We had a minor problem when we first arrived. Brenda was on top of it immediately responding to e-mails and texts and working quickly and efficiently to solve the problem. The house is well equipped with everything that you would need to enjoy your stay - well equipped kitchen, great seating areas with enough space for the family to spread out. There are lots of beach toys and chairs. All you need to supply are your food and personal items. We will definitely be back - if there is an opening in the schedule!

Million dollar view!

Our family recently stayed in this house during the Coast Guard festival week. To say we had a great time would be an understatement. We had the full, extended family, which consisted of 4 sets of grandparents, 2 kids under 7, 2 aunts, and 1 uncle. There was ample room for all. We lucked out with blazing hot sun and super warm lake temperatures. We were able to swim nearly all day long and take in the beautiful sunsets at night. The house is fully stocked with any games, DVDs, and toys any family would need. Want proof that we loved it? Next year we are coming back for our third consecutive year. Thanks, Brenda!

Family vacation

The Sandcastle is our favorite house! We enjoy the spacious patio area for morning coffee, having dinner then watching the sunset. The house has everything you need and is very comfortable. One of our favorite times was sitting around the table playing games with our adult children and grandchildren. We spent many hours on the beach and playing in the water. We love the location and our favorite restaurant is Morning Star. We are looking forward to our next getaway at this lovely home in 2017. Thank you!

Girls weekend

We had a girls weekend here at the end of April. Checked in Friday and left Sunday. House was perfect. Beautiful view right on the water. Everything was clean. I highly recommend for a week/weekend get away. Wish it was warm enough to get in the water.

We purchased this beautiful beachfront home in March of 2013 and have been worked very hard with upgrades for our renters. All new linens, bedding, towels, freshly painted and decorated. New flat screen TV with DVD/blueray player. The kitchen boasts new china, glasses, everything all upgraded and awaiting our renters for this summer!
