Te invitamos a alojarte en nuestra histórica casa de 4 dormitorios y 2 baños antes de la Guerra Civil, ubicada a una corta distancia a pie de restaurantes, museos y todo lo que Gettysburg tiene para ofrecer. ¡Tenemos todo para hacerte sentir como en casa!

Nuestra casa tiene 4 habitaciones con camas Queen y en la sala de estar hay un sofá cama Queen. También cuenta con 2 baños completos, uno arriba y uno abajo. Una cocina completa y una sala de lavandería con lavadora y secadora, plancha y tabla de planchar. La cocina está completamente equipada con ollas y sartenes, platos para hornear y guisos, platos, tazas, tazones, vasos y utensilios. También suministramos ropa de cama y el inicio de productos de papel. La propiedad estará limpia cuando llegue, sin embargo, no hay servicio de limpieza diario. El Retiro Gettysburg es una casa de Gable de la historia anterior a la Guerra Civil 2. Construido en 1853, fue originalmente propiedad de William Steinhour. Steinhour fue propietario de la casa hasta 1859, luego se vendió a Henry y Mary Zeigler en 1860, y luego fue recomprada por William Steinhour en 1864. Más tarde fue comprado en 1868 por William Z. Perfect location, charming home

The home is clean and comfortable with a well appointed kitchen, period decor, and room to spread out. It's within walking distance of many shops, bars, restaurants and Gettysburg curiosities. The grocery store across the street is convenient. And the dedicated parking is appreciated.

Great stay at Gettysburg Retreat

We had six people stay at the house and had plenty of room for all of us to fit comfortably. The house is fully furnished, very close to all the shops and restaurants, and has a convenient grocery store across the street. We enjoyed all of the Civil War relics, books, and photos that are placed in the house. Communication with Sandee was excellent and the process to check in and out was great. I would recommend the Gettysburg retreat if you are looking for a civil war era home that is clean, spacious, and convenient to the downtown area.

Amazing host and property

This house is truly amazing. Its in a great location, very clean and has the rustic feel. The host was absolutely amazing and communication with her was perfect. She would always reply quickly. Great Retreat!

The house is amazing. Perfectly decorated with an extensive library and dvd collection about Gettysburg and the civil war. The location is great too, easy walking distance to the square. Also, a supermarket right across the street. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed twice!

The location is fantastic. Everything in town is within walking distance. We stayed for a week during Thanksgiving, then came back a few weeks later to stay during the Christmas holiday. While we were away Sandee decorated for Christmas which was wonderful. Comminication was easy and quick.

We purchased the home in 2012 and my husband and I have been remodeling it every since. We are DYI's! It has been fun.

The house is located at 145 West Middle Street in Gettysburg and is within walking distance to downtown Gettysburg. There is a Trolley that runs in Gettysburg that you can ride for a small fee all day and it even goes out to The Gettysburg Visitor's Center and Museum. So you can leave your car at the house and save on gas while you are here!

We own 2 vacation homes now. Lincoln Quarters is located right next door to The Gettysburg Retreat. It is a 3 bedroom 1 bath upstairs apartment.
We have the only 2 of the 3 vacation homes in Gettysburg that are both legally open with all of our permits and licences.
We do have our Certificate of Use and Occupancy from the Gettysburg Borough and we are in Full Compliance with the PMCA

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The Gettysburg Retreat is a pre-Civil War 2 story Gable front house. Built in 1853 it was originally owned by William Steinhour. Steinhour owned the house until 1859, then sold to Henry and Mary Zeigler in 1860, then repurchased by William Steinhour in 1864. It was later bought in 1868 by William Z. Little and then sold in 1872 to James Caldwell. The house was later passed down to Little's heir in 1873.

One thing interesting about the house, is in the first 2 blocks of West Middle Street. You will find several Civil War houses towards downtown Gettysburg, but as you reach The Gettysburg Retreat, the house beside it was the last house in town until you get to Seminary Ridge during the Civil War.

The land Gettysburg was founded on was originally owned by William Penn. Penn would later sell the land to town founder James Getty. The Gettysburg Retreat was the 127th lot of land allocated to Getty in the exchange.
