Treehouse Vibes in the heart of the Mohican Forest
Sol Sanctuary – A Whimsical Forest Retreat in the Heart of Mohican
Welcome to Sol Sanctuary — a tucked-away forest hideaway where time slows, the air smells like pine, and the trees whisper stories older than you or I. Just a 2-minute hike from Mohican State Lodge, our cabin is perched where the forest meets the water, offering both lake views and the cozy embrace of the woods.
If you’re craving a place where you can breathe deeply, wander barefoot, and feel the magic of nature again — you’ve found it.
The Space
Sol Sanctuary is compact yet thoughtfully designed, every detail chosen to inspire comfort and wonder. You’ll find hidden cubbies perfect for curling up with a book, windows that frame the forest like a living painting, and touches of storybook charm throughout.
Step outside, and you’re surrounded by the kind of beauty that makes you pause — sunbeams filtering through leaves, mushrooms tucked along the trail, the gentle ripple of the lake in the distance. We’ve leaned into a cottagecore aesthetic with a touch of whimsical magic, creating a space that feels like a treehouse for the soul.
Where Adventure Meets Stillness
Whether your perfect day is filled with hiking, kayaking, and paddleboarding — or simply sipping tea while watching the wind dance through the trees — Sol Sanctuary offers the best of both worlds.
Paddleboarding & Kayaking: Just minutes from the water, you can start your morning gliding across the lake in stillness.
Forest Wanders: Walk the nearby trails and keep your eyes open for wild mushrooms, deer, and — if you believe like I do — a fairy or two.
Starry Nights: With minimal light pollution, evenings here are made for stargazing and quiet reflection.
The Magic of the Location
We’re nestled in the Mohican area, rich with Native American history and natural beauty. From the cabin, it’s a short walk to Mohican State Lodge for dining or exploring, and you’re minutes from canoeing, horseback riding, and some of the best hiking in Ohio.
For the Heart and Soul
I created Sol Sanctuary for people who work hard all week and deserve a soft place to land — a place to rest your body, quiet your mind, and fill your spirit. This isn’t just a stay; it’s an experience of slowing down, tuning in, and remembering what matters.
Amenities You’ll Love
Lake views from the property
Cozy sleeping spaces with soft bedding
Kitchen essentials for easy meal prep
Wi-Fi (for when you must connect)
Fire pit for evening conversations
Board games, books, and blankets for rainy days
A Note from Your Host
I’m Carrie — a barefoot, tree-hugging paddleboarder who believes in magic, stillness, and the quiet joy of spotting mushrooms in the forest. I poured my heart into Sol Sanctuary so guests could feel the same sense of wonder and peace that I do here. My hope is that you arrive as you are and leave feeling lighter, calmer, and maybe a little more enchanted.
