'En nuestra mini-hacienda estás a una cuadra de la plaza central del centro de la ciudad con toda la maravillosa comida, arte, compras y museos que podrías desear. Al mismo tiempo, su base de operaciones está ubicada en una casa privada totalmente contenida que ha sido pintada a mano y elaborada con amor y que simplemente se siente bien. También ofrecemos a aquellos familiares o amigos que viajan o celebran juntos la opción de permanecer cerca pero de tener espacios completos separados cuando surge la necesidad o el deseo. La unidad del segundo piso (Blue Elk Up) tiene su propia entrada privada, terraza abierta privada, cocina, sala de estar grande y baño completo con bañera / ducha. Blue Elk Down tiene dos dormitorios principales, uno con combinación de bañera / ducha y el otro solo con ducha. Ambas unidades tienen salas de estar lo suficientemente grandes como para que todo el grupo se reúna para las comidas y las visitas. The house was comfortable, with everything we needed, and in such a great location for walking to all the wonderful places in Taos. We also really enjoyed the hot tub!

The unit was beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable inside. The outdoor areas not so much and the windows were all cloudy. The upstairs unit smelled like gas and we discovered a valve on the fireplace was left on a tiny bit. When we opened a window to air out the unit the window fell apart.

Nice lower unit

Location was great and Unit A was nice and cozy. Should note that no a/c in bedrooms, just in living room but stayed pretty cool at night. Unit B is upstairs and not so great for older users. Shared bathroom upstairs but nice living room . Lower patio is cute. No problem finding street parking.

Family Vacation

Overall we were pleased with the rental and its proximity to the plaza and restaurants. The house was clean and spacious. Our only issue was the parking. We were aware ahead of time that it was possible no street parking would be available but parking passes would be provided. Unfortunately, only two parking passes are provided. We rented both the up and down for our large party and had 3 cars. I reached out to the caretaker with no solution other than “watch for a car to leave” which never happened the first day. We had to park our car 2 streets over in a parking lot hoping it didn’t get towed. We spent our time the next day stalking the street parking and had to leave one of ours cars parked the remainder of our visit to secure safe parking.

We enjoyed out stay very much. House was clean and quiet. In the Upstairs Apartment, the Ceiling Fan doesn't work, Kitchen light didn't work, and more than one wash cloth is needed in the bathroom. Downstairs the coffee pot must need cleaning, takes an hour to perk, and the ground fault in the kitchen didn't work.

February Ski Trip

Overall a nice property, the property manager (Cherry) was great. Close to the plaza and restaurants. The description is misleading and is not 4br/3ba house. It is 2 units with small living areas and kitchens, and separate entrances (1 unit is upstairs). Not ideal for a medium/large group. Enough parking on the street for 1 vehicle, others park offsite and walk.

TAOS Family Getaway

We all flew in for a long weekend get together. Some skied, some went to galleries and shopped. Restaurants in the area were excellent from Tex-Mex, to fine dining to brew pub pizza. We all enjoyed being together at the Blue Elk Casa. Star gazing was really good from the upstairs outdoors patio.

This is our 2nd time staying here. We love the location, the hot tub, and the up/down units work just fine for larger groups. Great host.

Girls Trip 2024

My girlfriends and I travel once a year and this year we chose Taos, NM. The location of the property was perfect! Walking distance from the plaza, local shops, and restaurants. We didn't realize the property was two separate apartments. When traveling with your life long friends the last thing you want is too be separated. With that being said it would be great for 2 families. We felt that the place needed a very good deep clean. The patios were full of leaves, it is fall time but we had to brush off all the furniture to sit, nothing had been swept or made to look inviting. There were several cobwebs and the vents were dusty. The upstairs toilet runs and runs if you don't push the handle back up. Some items are just very used and old. Rugs, pillows, blankets, sheets could use replacing. The guidebook for the property was dated 2014. For the cost of this stay we expected more, and unfortunately would not return.

Not worth the price!

This property has so much potential and the location is great, but… We pulled up to the curb and had to wade through weeds. The interior courtyard is in dire need of maintenance, too. The main house is adorable but the carpet is filthy which is a shame because the bathrooms and kitchen were clean. The comforters on the beds appeared not to have been washed in ages. Unfortunately, the upstairs unit had light bulbs out, an inoperable door handle and faulty toilet-all of which our friend repaired. The couch is coming apart and the windows were dirty. This property COULD be a show place. Sadly, while we enjoyed our visit, we paid way too much for accommodations.

Location, location, location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We couldn't ask for a better location or a more friendly host. The hot tub was a wonderful amenity and we appreciated the privacy of it. When the garbage disposal broke, maintenance was there the same day to get it fixed. The downside is that we did not know that the property we rented didn't connect on the interior, which made our 4 bdrm 3 bth rental a 2 bdrm, 1 bth and a 2 bdrm 2 bth - not ideal for a family. The units were well appointed, but lacked in cleanliness. The dust and dander left behind made for some miserable allergies during our stay, and I would encourage your cleaning crew to also look in drawers and cupboards as every dish we took out to use were put away dirty (presumably by a previous guests) and needed washed before we could use them - not the host's fault, but still an inconvenience.

Perfect

We were 4 couples and the space was perfect for our needs. It was nice to have the separation of the units so we weren't on top of each other the whole stay, and plenty of room for us all to hang out together on either patio when we wanted to. Cutely decorated. The upstairs kitchen area is way smaller which we weren't expecting but made work. Very small fridge so we were happy to be able to put extra food in the downstairs unit. The location to town can't be beat. During our stay the lower level AC was not working which was a bit of a bummer, it did get pretty warm. But the pros made that easier to overlook and deal with. We would all come back and stay here again if we travel back to the area.

Charming Taos Home
