The Bear Den: Cozy Cabin with Hot Tub & Firepit Near Blowing Rock

Welcome to The Bear Den, the ideal getaway cabin in a gated community centrally located between Boone and Blowing Rock. The Bear Den offers a peaceful mountain setting within 20 minutes of the App State campus, downtown Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis, and Appalachian Ski Mountain.

Enter into a vaulted great room with stone gas log fireplace, dining area with seating for your whole group, and a fully equipped kitchen with stone countertops and stainless steel appliances for an updated mountain feel. The Queen bedroom and private bath are located on the main level for easy access. The back deck includes outdoor dining space with winter views of the mountain ridge, and an electric grill waiting for you to cook up a feast.

Upstairs features a large King suite with private bath and TV, as well as a spacious loft area with Queen-sized sleeper sofa for additional sleeping accommodation.

Entertainment includes a hot tub on the private back deck, Foosball in the loft area, a firepit at the end of the driveway, and televisions with YouTube TV provided, and ready for you to log in to any of your other favorite streaming apps.

Enjoy quiet walks along the Crystal Mountain community roads and trail, where you're likely to see deer and other wildlife.

- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Firewood may be added at the time of booking under "Additional Fees" after entering payment info or by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You get two wrapped bundles and a firestarter for $25/night.
- Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.

CANCELLATION POLICY: MODERATE: Cancellations 30+ days prior to arrival receive a full refund minus the $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations within 14-30 days of arrival will be refunded 50%. Cancellations within 14 days of arrival will not be refunded unless the dates are rebooked to another traveler.
