El buque insignia de la Casa del Arco es la impresionante vista sobre el lago de Como. Poggio Campana se encuentra en el corazón de Varenna, un verdadero ejemplo urbano de los antiguos pueblos italianos. A excepción de la calle principal que cruza el pueblo, todos los demás son formas escaleras peatonales (contrada) que le traen hasta el lago, ideal para los niños. El apartamento está en la parte superior del edificio, de dos plantas y fuera de la sala de estar son dos balcones. Los interiores son elegantes y modernas y el apartamento ha sido completamente restaurada a principios de 2010. El lago es de 20 metros y en 5 'de agradable paseo por el lago se llega al muelle del ferry. La estación de tren está a sólo 10 'lejos. Cerca del apartamento son: farmacia, supermercado, carnicería, bancos, restaurantes y bares. Poggio Campana es el lugar ideal para vivir el ambiente único de Varenna que hará que sus vacaciones sean inolvidables.

Gorgeous view and great area!

If you’re staying in Varenna it’s hard to imagine a more beautiful place. Easy access from the train or ferry, incredible views from your private balcony, and plenty of space. Would absolutely stay again!

Amazing location and the view

Just the most amazing location. Close to everything and easy to walk in each direction. If you want the view of the lake, this apartment has it. We would happily stay here again.

The key reason to stay here is the location. The space is big enough to host 4-5 adults. However, it is not very comfortable, lacks warmth and accommodating guests. It seems a little dirty or dated. We did not have enough pillows, blankets and towels. There are no amenities such as soap and shampoo to shower. The kitchen is relatively supplied with dishes to prepare meals. It would be nice if when arriving, there are essentials such as bottled water, coffee pods, tea and paper products just to settle in. We had to take an Uber to a store at 6:00pm to pick up supplies for our stay. After a long travel day, it would have been nice to just have a few things there to greet us. The furniture is limited and made it hard to sit in the main space and relax. We did enjoy eating around the main dining table and the views across Lake Como. And again, access to town and the ferry is why you stay here. The light in the bathroom was broken and after contacting Luciana, he sent someone to repair it during the stay. He was responsive to questions but it took a few days each time. Not sure we would stay here again.

Charming Varenna apartment with amazing views

Perfect location, fabulous apartment - highly recommend. (Be aware if visiting in summer, as stated in the listing, has fans rather than a/c.) Suited our family of 5 perfectly!

Nice apartment in amazing location !

We had a great time ! The view from the balcony is AMAZING! Such a pleasure to have a coffee there every morning (even though there is space for 2 persons only). The apartment is nicely renovated and modern. However I can’t put a 5/5 because in my opinion it misses a comfortable living-room with coaches and a coffee table to gather with your family/friends. We recommend this nice place!

nice apartment

the apartment is very nice, the view from the main bedroom and balconies from living/dining room is amazing. the pictures are mostly accurate, but keep in mind it’s on the top floor so you have to climb 3 flights of stairs to get into the apartment then another flight after you get in to reach the bathroom and bedrooms.. two of the bedrooms are conjoined together and faces the street so it’s a bit noisy.

Beautiful view and clean apartment

The apartment is very nice and spacious. The rooms that are joined with the single beds is a bit small. Best really for children rather than adults. The room in the back is incredibly small but we made it work for our two teenagers. The front room with the window to the lake is amazing. It would have been nice to have had somewhere to hang clothes in this room, the only place to hang clothes was in the "middle bedroom". Common areas is very spacious and the balconies were perfect. Highly recommended,

Beautiful views in a great location

It was our first time at Lake Como. The lake is beautiful, and Varenna was our favorite village on the lake. This property has some great views over the lake. The apartment was clean and in good condition. There are beds to sleep 6, but the third bedroom is only accessible through the second bedroom. There is also not much of a living area. But we spent most of our time outside in awe of the lake and doing some hiking in the area (the hike up to the castle and paying a small fee to get in is worth it for the views). We ate at Cafe Varenna, La Vista, and Bar Il Molo. All of them were fantastic. We had a small issue with the keys at check in, but they were available for communication and did what they could to help resolve.

Better off in a hotel

In general, the apartment was fine, however many issues added up to make this stay bad.First, there were only sheets for one bed despite it being a 3br apartment. I had the ask the host 4 times for extra linens, which he provided on the last day of our stay. Also, the listing advertises 4 twin beds, there were only 3.Another odd moment happened when a caretaker had to get into the apartment to fix a clogged sink. I’m thankful the host was able fix the issue on short notice. However, when his assistant apparently arrived at the apartment the host called me and sent me multiple messages asked where I was and saying the assistant could not get in. First, the owner never said I needed to be at the apartment to meet the assistant. Second, the key was in the lockbox the entire time and shouldn’t an assistant have a key anyway? It was a strange interaction. More issues:Hot water in the shower only lasts a few minutesNo curtains/shutters on the main bedroom windowYou must have a key to get out of the building’s main door, this seems like a fire hazardStains on the pillows and mattressesThe pillows are very thin, not enough provided The towels felt old and cheap

Muchas escaleras ! Linda vista

El departamento es muy lindo de dos pisos pero si fue un problema llevar nuestras maletas hacia el edificio y de ahí subir dos tramos largos de escaleras .. muy cansando. El parqueo también fue molestoso tenerlo a 10 minutos caminando. Pero lo más lindo la Limoieza las camas muy cómodas y la vista ! Espectacular… cerca de restaurantes acogedores. Se desayuna y come delicioso. Frente a orillas del lago como. La ubicación es ideal.

Excellent emplacement dans un des plus beaux villages de lac de Côme

Très bel appartement spacieux avec une vue magnifique sur le lac de Côme. Communication très facile avec la propriétaire Luciana. Cette location est très bien pour une famille de 5 personnes car une seule salle de bain et pour aller dans la 3e chambre, il faut passer par la chambre avec 2 lits d'enfants. Pour profiter de cette belle location, il faut s'armer de courage pour monter de nombreux escaliers. N'hésitez pas, cela en vaut la chandelle :-) Merci à Luciana.

Perfect stay in beautiful Varenna!

Our family recently visited (2 adults + 3 Adult kids) and had the greatest time! The house was beautiful and looks exactly as described. We saw an amazing sunset from the balcony and it is the perfect location to walk down to the waterfront. One thing to note is if we had realized the amount of steps from the train station we probably would have taken a taxi but everyone (including 60 year olds) made it and the steps to the top floor apartment are totally worth the views!

Mooie en goed gelegen vakantiewoning midden in het prachtige Varenna. Het uitzicht is inderdaad magnifiek. Het appartement is met zorg ingericht waarbij soms vorm voor functie gegaan is. Er zijn in andere reviews al enkele aandachtspunten meegegeven die voor toekomstige gasten van belang kunnen zijn. Het is geschikt voor 5 gasten doch die kunnen niet samen op een balkon verblijven. Ook zijn functionaliteiten en de grootte van de oven en de grootte van de TV niet afgestemd op het mogelijke aantal gasten. Daarom vier in plaats van 5 sterren mede gelet op de prijs. Met in achtneming van de aandachtspunten wel een aanrader.
