Warm and Welcoming Vermont Haven, Perfect for Families

Nestled among birch trees and a rushing brook in the Green Mountains, this 3-bed, 2-bath family-friendly house provides everything you need to unwind, play, and explore the magic that is Southern Vermont. Offering a fully appointed kitchen, curated library, jacuzzi tub, fireplace and more, the house is also minutes from indoor/outdoor pools, tennis & basketball courts and a lovely US Forest maintained trail that summits the Deerfield Valley. 15 mi from Mt. Snow and 8 from Downtown Wilmington!

We are a family (and extended family!) friendly space. At an airy 2230 square feet of three levels, everyone is sure to find their perfect nook to unwind. We have thoughtfully taken care to provide everything you need to enjoy the magic and warmth of this space and make memories with your families and friends!

Three bedrooms ensure a peaceful sleep to the sounds of the rushing brook behind the house. There is a large main floor primary suite (with a king-sized Tuft and Needle mattress) as well as dual upstairs bedrooms (one with a Queen mattress, and one with two bunk beds, or four beds total). The upstairs bathroom is appointed with a jacuzzi tub. If extra sleeping spaces are needed, there is also a Queen pull out bed in the lower level rec room and a Queen futon on the upstairs landing.

The kitchen/living room is the heart of the house, and is fully stocked with the equipment and appliances you need to cook and bake with ease. If you're in the mood for some outdoor cooking, we provide a propane grill and a small firepit for roasting marshmallows. A dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer make life easy for clean-up.

The downstairs rec room provides a smart TV for cozy movie nights and features a game closet stocked with many board games, card games, toys, and puzzles. We also provide a curated library of well-loved adults and children's books, along with a second floor landing area that provides a children's easel and a keyboard for music and art making.

We cater to families, providing many of the necessities one needs with young kids (video monitor, high chair, potty seats, infant bouncer, baby gate, children's plates and utensils, and even a stroller!). For fun in all seasons, we provide sleds, beach amenities, and sand toys.

And while we firmly believe in the importance of unplugging, we know sometimes life requires we stay connected. Our Green Mountain house provides reliable and fast internet service, as well as two desk spaces: one in the downstairs office, and one in the sunroom (which also happens to be a lovely place for yoga or meditation, with its floor to ceiling windows overlooking the woods!).

As part of the Chimney Hill Community, you'll have access to a range of exclusive amenities, including heated outdoor/indoor pools, hot tub, arcade, fitness room, great room with projection TV and surround sound, piano, BYOB full kitchen, outdoor grills, children’s playground, horseshoes, bocce and pickle ball courts, stocked fishing pond, lighted basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts, picnic areas, ice skating rink with a warming hut, and expansive, direct access to VAST snowmobile and hiking trails. *** Please note the clubhouse has limited hours during the winter and spring and is only open Thursday-Sunday (it is open 7 days a week in Summer into Fall). ***

The US-Forest Maintained Haystack trail is a highlight of the area, summiting over the Deerfield Valley, and is a simple 5 minute walk up our road.

Lastly, our Green Mountain House is an amazing jumping off point for all Southern Vermont has to offer and we are so happy to be your guides to find the best itineraries for you. With outdoor adventures, shopping, dining, and cultural experiences, it is a well-rounded destination for visitors of all interests in all seasons. Some of the highlights include:

* Mount Snow: A popular ski resort offering skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and mountain biking, hiking, and scenic chairlift rides in the others.

* Downtown Wilmington: a charming and quaint town featuring local shops, art galleries, and dining options that vary from cozy cafes and diners to upscale restaurants. Throughout the year, Wilmington hosts various events and festivals, including art shows, craft fairs, and seasonal celebrations.

* Hiking and Outdoor Exploration: we are surrounded by beautiful hikes in the surrounding Green Mountain National Forest, and we are happy to point you toward hikes for all ages and levels! Molly Stark State Park and Hogback Mountain Scenic Overlook are particular guest favorites.

* Harriman Reservoir: the serene waters of this huge reservoir offers opportunities for boating, kayaking, fishing, and swimming...and if you're feeling adventurous, some cliff jumping! But it's not the only place for swimming in the region, and we're happy to point you to many other swimming holes, from sandy lakes to waterfalls to rivers under covered bridges for your perfect Vermont picture opportunities. :)

Please be aware that snow tires or chains are REQUIRED to get up the mountain in the winter; 4WD is also highly recommended, in winter and "mud season" (March and April).
