I am an ex finance executive and in my career I have travelled extensively, having lived and worked in London, Brussels, Australia and Africa. I speak English (first language), Dutch, Afrikaans and Italian. My partner is fluent in both Italian, Spanish and English.
In our travels we both discovered and fell in love with Italy and in particular Tuscany. Wanting to move on from big city life and get to know “la dolce vita” (the sweet life) we decided to move to the Val d’Orcia and established what is today BelSentiero ("the beautiful path or way").
This has been the stuff of dreams but also not without its tribulations. Trying in having to navigate the legendary bureaucracy that is Italy but also exhilarating to be able to create a welcoming environment for guests in a place as beautiful as the Val d’Orcia (a World Heritage area).
