Welcome to the Weiss Family Compound. This incredibly private, amazingly scenic setting contains a shared gravel beach, hiking trails and a “mountain” trail which provides glorious views of Swains Cove and beyond to the Penobscot Bay and Camden Hills. The Weiss Family Compound consists of two cottages, which can be rented individually or together.
Weiss Upper is a three bedroom, one bathroom cabin. The cottage is simple with jaw dropping, elevated views of Swains Cove and the Penobscot Bay. The kitchen has an electric range, a refrigerator and all the basic supplies to prepare most any meal. The cottage has a simple living room area with a grand stone fireplace, a couch, a couple of chairs accompanied by glorious views of the ocean. From the kitchen and dining area there are sliding doors that open to a beautiful open deck which provides multiple seating opportunities to take in the sights and sounds of the cove. The deck is also equipped with a gas grill.
There are three bedroom at Weiss Upper. The first is in the cottage area. The room has a queen bed, a quiet work space, a private fireplace and views of the cove, islands and sea. The second bedroom is accessed from the front deck system. It has two twin beds and a nightstand. The third bedroom also with deck side access has a queen bed and a nightstand. The one bathroom is also deck-side and has a shower stall as well as sink and toilet.
Weiss Upper is one of the most scenic settings around. From sun up to the beautiful sundown (when in residence you should not try and miss a sunset from this glorious hilltop) this is definitely the right place to come and unwind for a week or two.

Great Spot
We thoroughly enjoyed another week at Weiss Upper. Beautiful location, very comfortable accommodations, simple but well stocked kitchen. We love to kayak so appreciated the ability to store our boats at the shoreline and launch with ease. We hope to return next year.

authentically gorgeous Maine coast
We had a marvelous time in this rustic but beautifully equipped and maintained summer home with the absolutely best water views I have ever seen. There's also great water access for kayaking and swimming. All around fantastic.

Another Perfect Week
The location is what always draws us back. The privacy is awesome. We have stayed here many times. Appreciated the new deck and sliding door. Great to have the stove for chilly nights in the fall. The split unit for cooling off the sun during the day or taking the chill off in the morning is perfect. The sunsets and stars are the best on the island. You have to experience it to understand. It is amazing. Enjoyed the private beach and cooking on the grill. Kitchen is well stocked. Guests must be prepared for the rustic furniture and bathroom. We find it all part of it's charm. Hope to return again next year.

Another great stay
We always love our stay at Weiss upper and this year was just as great! My husband and I had two wonderful weeks here with our two young children. We’re already counting down the days until we can stay again next summer!

CANCELLATION POLICY All cancellations must be in writing and received by Agent. Cancellations may only be made between the date that a reservation deposit is received and a date determined to be 45 days prior to the tenants scheduled arrival date. Cancelations within 45 days of arrival will not result in a refund in whole or part of rental monies received. If a cancellation is made prior to 45 days of arrival, the Agent shall, as an accommodation to the Tenant, make an effort to re-rent the property at the published rate for the rental term reserved. No refund of rents paid will be made until the canceled period is re-rented and confirmed. If the canceled period is re-rented, any rent and taxes paid will be refunded less a $100 administrative fee. If the re-rental amount is less than the published rate, any difference in rental rate remains the sole obligation of the tenant. If the unit is not re-rented, all rents paid, processing fees and taxes shall be forfeited as damages. This cancellation policy is strictly followed. Tenants are encouraged to purchase travel insurance for all vacations to cover many situations that may arise that might cause one to cancel vacation plans. There are many independent insurance providers available to tenants. I understand that the insurance company holds this policy and that The Island Agency does not determine eligibly of claims.
