Esta cabaña remodelada frente a la playa de estilo artesano clásico de los años 50 está lista para su disfrute. En toda la casa hay pisos de pino transparente y revestimientos de paredes de madera de pino y arboleda originales pintados con buen gusto. La cocina y los baños tienen gabinetes de arce con encimeras de granito y formica.

En la cocina encontrará todos los electrodomésticos necesarios para su conveniencia, incluida la combinación de cocina eléctrica / estufa, lavaplatos, microondas incorporado de 1000 vatios y refrigerador con máquina de hielo. Cada baño tiene gabinetes de arce con encimeras de granito y accesorios de grifería frotada con aceite. Our family of 5 stayed here for a week in July. The house had plenty of room for us to relax. The location is very convenient to the public beach access. It’s also off the main road and close to everything. A great ice cream/snack shop just across the street. The backyard was great for the kids just to play in the sand while grownups relaxed. Wear shoes closer to the house though because there are some prickly things coming from nearby plants . Everything worked great, A/C, water, appliances, internet. Small issue out of the freezer, but didn’t affect our stay and was brought up to the owner, who is very responsive. Overall, great place to stay for a relaxing vacation at the beach.

Short summer get away

We came down just for the weekdays as we dont like the beach too crowded. Myself ,wife and daughter(9) loved the location. The house sits off the beach a little but is still ocean front. We loved having the volleyball court and being able to walk on and off the beach. The house was perfect for what we wanted, the little soft serve ice cream was a hit with my daughter of course( would not advise the black cherry, my daughter had many key lime and my favorite was the pecan,ask for samples if unsure). Myself and my daughter are huge Britts doughnut supporters so the morning beach walks were great, tiki bar a short walk was great as well. We got some recommendations from the owner Chris and he was spot on for places to dine. Thursday night fireworks are always a hit for the family.We come atleast one time a yr sometimes 3-4 depending on whats going on. We will definitely keep a eye open for a open time slot here again. Thanks for the great accommodations and killer recommendations. Cheers, til next time

Everything was listed accurately, the house was very clean. Plenty of room for 5 adults, we were on the beach for most of the day’s, we did go over to Southport, it’s a cute town you have to take a ferry over. Chris our host was easy to work with and check in & out was very easy

Great mini-vacay!

A Summer's Rest is absolutely adorable! It's quite roomy for a "little" cottage and its decorated beautifully and little hands can't get into too much mischief :)It was clean and had all the basics we would need for our 2 night stay.Booking on VRBO was seamless and Chris, the owner, was fabulous in communicating. And, he was super fabulous the day we were leaving when an unexpected issue arose.Not only would I stay at A Summer's Rest again but I would recommend it to everyone I know who planned on vacationing at Carolina Beach.OH! And the price was reasonable too!Thank you, Chris, for sharing your beautiful home!

Perfect Ocean Front Home

We could not have picked a better place to stay! Beach front, great deck space, volleyball court, firepit, and plenty of room. This home is perfected located and in walking distance to so many great things Carolina Beach has to offer. Owner did an amazing job with upgrades and decor! Highly recommend this place and look forward to staying here again.

Adult Weekend Getaway

Excellent place to stay!!! Parked on Friday and never got back in the car. The house had everything we needed and plenty of options within walking distance. Loved sitting by the fire pit at night listening to music. We will definitely be back!!

AMAZING

Every step of my experience was nothing short of amazing. Chris was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. The house “A Summers Rest” is nothing short of its name. The location was perfect; the ocean is literally your backyard and restaurants and shops are within walking distance. The house was beautifully decorated in mid-century elegance. I was impressed with all the fine details. I would recommend this house 10/10. It is perfect for a family…so much to do and so close to the beach. The sand volleyball court and fire pit was definitely used throughout our stay! Thank you again for sharing your house with our family!

Family Getaway

This home was perfect for our family stay. The house was stocked with everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. My kids loved the volleyball court in the backyard and the outdoor shower was an added bonus we took advantage of! Short drive to many great restaurants. The Host was helpful and accommodating, even helping to find a lost airpod after checkout.

Girls weekend getaway!!!

We had a great time!!! House was small but clean for our girls weekend of 6. Says it sleeps 8 which it will but seating in living room and at kitchen table is for 6. Awesome fire pit out back with great sitting area. Volleyball court for those that like to play. Little path over dune to beach. Kitchen dining area was open and spacious. Chris was very quick to respond to text messages.

Volleyball Retreat with Friends and Family

We rented this house to serve as the meeting place for a group of volleyball friends. I stayed with my family and one other family. Sunrises, easy access to the beach, the yard, and the fire pit were the highlight of our stay. The house is cute and cozy. It had everything we needed, but we mostly spent our time outside. The yard is sand which allowed for the younger kids to play while we played volleyball. Admittedly, we didn’t get to play as much volleyball as we hoped because there are cacti growing around the perimeter of the property and all three of our balls popped. So, if you plan to play volleyball, don’t bring your best balls. The location is close enough to the boardwalk to make everything really easily accessible. I would 100% stay there again.

Cozy home with the best location!

This home is identical to the listing and images. The bedrooms were all spacious and the place was clean for the most part. We did find some hairs in one of the showers and the towels had some light stains on them, but these are things I’d expect to find at most rentals and overall the space was clean. The best part about this rental was the location. We were near everything we wanted to do like the battleship, aquarium, and food places. And the best part was being able to walk out the door and right out to the beach. Great location! The only real negative we had was just that the tv in the living room you can access Netflix through the Xbox. Which for my older in-laws was a very hard task, and the other tv isn’t usable unless you bring a fire stick or something to stream with. This is mentioned in the listing but we just had no idea how limiting it could be to use the tv’s. Thankfully we had plenty of other things to keep us occupied. The owner is very nice, and quick to respond. We had a great vacation, and the rental overall was great, just be prepared for the tv if you are older!

HOT time at the beach

We had a wonderful small family reunion at A Summer's Rest. We came from VA with my son, his wife and two daughters, my husband and I. My middle son lives in Wilmington and our son from CA flew out to stay with the middle son, so we were all together for a change. Chris is always quick to reply to any question, even silly ones like where he got the cute crab decorations! This is our third time there and the house is very comfortable for us. I prefer to cook, and the kitchen is well stocked.

Amazing backyard!

We are a family of 5 with kids ranging in age 15-19. This house was perfect for us. We spent most of our time in the yard playing volleyball and other outdoor games. It was also nice to have restaurants within a mile walk and the ocean so close. I enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning with my coffee looking at the ocean. Loved this house!

Volleyball house is a great game!

We stayed a week with 4 adults and 3 grandkids- 2,4,6. Absolute blast, all only crying was when we left. 50 steps from beach access, across the street is soft serve ice cream. The back yard is remarkably private. We will be back 👍

Home away from home

We were looking for an easy access beach front property for my family and my sister in law/ BILs family. We had 6 people- 2 toddlers and 4 adults. This house was perfect! A great kitchen, cozy living room with a play area, and the rooms were just perfect for the 6 of us! Chris made everything perfect. Would come back here 500x more times. Such a relaxing vacation and great area! Loved this house!

Wonderful beach feel house on the ocean

The home has a very comfortable beachy feel. We loved our stay and Chris was very responsive to any questions we had. The house was clean with all the amenities you would need. We stayed for a week and loved every minute. If the evenings are a little chilly (which a couple were), the fire pit was a great way for us to still be outside and enjoy the atmosphere and also keep the chill off. The little extras that Chris leaves for his guests are also a very cool touch. We have stayed in many VRBO's and this is the first time the host left a memento. Thanks for letting us share your home.......I am sure we will be back!!

The Owner has been in the business of building (as a licensed General Contractor) and maintaining rental property in the Wilmington area since the early 90's. Is a proud owner of this great beach bungalow in Carolina Beach (A Summer's Rest ). This is home was originally rebuilt in the summer of 2013 (updated in 2019) AND NOW REJUVINATED IN 2024, and is ready for your occupancy. He is a local resident who enjoys using his beach home when not being leased. We know you'll enjoy this home, and would like to thank you for considering staying in the home.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

This home is truly in one of the best spots on the beach. Besides the private beachfront lot that sits in front of the home, the location and proximity to the downtown area (bars, shopping, food, entertainment), lake (paddle boats, free Sunday night movies under the stars), shopping and food (ice cream and snack bar across the street) make it ideal. With only a short walk to all, you can forget about needing the car to get basic needs met, as well, the kids will have a fun and safe place to play (private lot) without constant need for supervision. The dunes protect them from being seen from the beach and the home keeps them from being near the street.
Make sure to check out the Fort Fisher Aquarium (Kure Beach), movies around the lake for kids on Sunday nights (in season and a short walk from my place) and all the great local attractions without having to leave the island. We have Farmer's Markets on Saturday mornings (in season) and a multitude of music and food festivals, all on island.

Adults can have fun by visiting one of a number of our local bar and grills. My favorite is the Sea Witch, where local and regional bands play, you can eat, listen and dance all night.
The Fat Pelican is a cool Beer dive, with an entire walk in cooler of craft and other beers to choose from. Walk in, pic anything you like and pay by the piece. A great locals place in the off season.
The Lazy Pirate is the other great local bar/grill. Good food, night life and their own volleyball courts make it a cool place to see and be seen.
