The Space:
Walk 500 yards to the ocean and sand with this terrific Night Heron Cottage, and take advantage of the screened porch and back deck for plenty of peace and quiet during your stay. Inside, the home offers attractive floors, tasteful decor, and tons of space. The living area is the perfect place to host big family events, enjoy homemade popcorn during a movie night with the flatscreen cable TV, or just curl up with your favorite novel while everyone is down at the beach. You'll love exploring the community, especially when you challenge a friend to a match on the shared tennis court.

What’s nearby:
Be sure to tee off next door at Night Heron Park Golf Course, or at any of the other courses that pepper the island such as Cougar Point and Turtle Point Golf Courses, both less than three miles away. For great food, family-friendly activities, and carriage tours, be sure to check out historic downtown Charleston, only 25 miles away! You can bike or drive to Freshfields village, about four miles away, where you’ll find some great restaurants, boutiques, and grocery stores for some fresh local produce. Just a bit further down the road is Bohicket Marina (about 5 miles away) for boat cruises, dolphin tours, live music, wine tastings, and more! And if you're wanting that morning exercise, you have over 30 miles of walking and bike trails that cover almost all of Kiawah Island.

The host/property management group answered my questions promptly. Was able to drive right up to the guard station give them my address. Lock box at house was simple. No issues with our stay.

Fun beach bungalow.

Great communication, place was nice. Washer dryer are older and are loud, but otherwise neat clean and a nice walk to the beach. Would stay there again.

Roomy clean home with pretty screened in porch

We had 3 couples staying the weekend. The place was plenty big, nice comfy furnishings and updated appliances. We loved the screened in porch, overlooking the lagoon, to eat breakfast in. We appreciated the starter products (dish and laundry pods, bathroom needs, etc) so we didn't need to buy for the weekend. There were a couple of repairs needed but nothing that caused issues with our stay. Property management was very kind and helpful. .

Perfect family house

Perfect house for our family. Near the beach, near Night Heron Park for kids camp, the nest cafe and convenience store all easy walking. Had bikes delivered that were waiting when we arrived. Comfortable beds, all very good.

Great Location

The cottage was well-appointed and clean. The check-in process was a breeze. The property is in a convenient location, about a 7 min. walk or 3 min. bike ride to the beach. The property is also near the Night Heron Pool (access not included!) and a quick drive to the Freshfields Town Center. I highly suggest renting bikes to explore all that Kiawah has to offer.

Pricey for what you get

House was in a good location for us - as it was close to the start of the marathon. Was disappointed a bit bc we paid decent $ …overall house wasn’t bad but outfitted with not enough & cheap kitchen items. The plastic outdoor set with only 5 chairs was tacky. Front lights burnt out going up the front stairs was dangerous

Kiawah summer break

We loved the property and the island. The house was very spacious and clean. Had just about everything we needed to enjoy the trip. There were a couple of minor improvements we could suggest…Cable TV was “low def” and limited channels. We didn’t watch much TV but kind of expected better at this price point. Also listing said “shared tennis court”. I guess this was technically true but the sharing would be if you wanted to go to the Barth Tennis Club and pay $40/hour for a court. All in all our trip was great and place was great.

Nice place in a good location

We really enjoyed our stay on Kiawah. This property has most of the amenities that you’ll need and is about a 5 minute walk to the beach.

Nice stay…but

We stayed here for a wedding weekend. The cottage was nice and kitchen was well equipped. We could have used more towels and some tissue boxes. The front screen door has a problem and almost had to break it to get into the houses. The fact that you can’t use the pool for us was a problem but we did t have much of a choice. The beach is close which was nice. Personally I think it was a lot of money for what we got.

Condo near the beach

Interior was clean but the sparse furnishings were not welcoming. The rental is in need of updating with repairs to the stairs to the entry door - lighting and wood. Washer/dryer worked well, but the dishwasher takes an extraordinary amount of time to run.
