This oceanfront duplex offers two covered decks overlooking the ocean, giving you front-row seats to sunrises, dolphin sightings, pelicans perching, and the sound of rolling waves. Very enjoyable stay!

Vacasa made renting this home easy, as well as check in and out. Home location to beach excellent, nice outdoor furniture too. We love staying in Topsail but it’s getting crowded and pricy. This home had best of all worlds, location, price and a nice fit for our family vacation. Would stay again -thank you

Steps to the beach and not a crowded area. Nice lighting both indoors and out (and clearly labeled). Ample supply of linens, games, and kitchen amenities.

Awesome stay at Pelicans Perch

Thank you for a great week! Pelicans Perch had plenty of sleeping and hang-out space for our family of 6 and one dog. The beach here is beautiful and allowed for longer walks to the pier to get ice cream. We would love to come back again!

The AC was effective, every floor had a way down to the beach, the shower was helpfully placed, great view, love having 2 rooms with king beds.

Relaxing week with family

The house is actually a duplex but it was very nice and we had the best neighbors for the week. The house was in good condition and clean. We reported a few broken items (blinds lamps) and they promptly took care of them. The views are beautiful and access to the beach is perfect. Lots of steps but that’s to be expected at beach homes. Would recommend removal of the broken chairs that are collecting beside the picnic table outside. Would stay again and would highly recommend.

Oceanfront Comfort

I will start with the ugly. The house had not been properly cleaned prior to our arrival. Dirty cups and empty bottles found throughout the house. The counters in the kitchen hadnt been wiped down. Trash and recycling hadnt been removed from the house. Dishwasher was full and had to be emptied.The outside trash and recycling bins were full when we arrived. Put trash out for Weds collection (Tues was Holiday) and it was never picked up. Had to contend with overflowing trash bins. Property manager was notified, but nothing they could do about the issues. I felt like i had to clean up the house just to settle in. The bad. The stairs from the carport lead into the house to an awkward corner. Bringing in bags was super tight and wonky, and the same with getting everything out. Closets were filled with stuff, old art, etc. Felt like i couldnt tuck anything away in the rooms. Awesome location. House is oceanfront with super easy access to the beach. Great space inside the house for my family. House is super close to downtown Surf City with shops and restaurants.

Least favorite home I have ever rented

I am fairly certain that the other reviews are not for this home and are pulled from a different listing. I rent, on average, 10 homes a year for weekend trips to week long trips and have never been so disappointed in a home. There is no way that there was a cleaning crew before our arrival and the house does not seem like any amount of love or upkeep is put into this home. We arrived to a dirty home. The vents are covered in old dust and have not been wiped for a long long time. There is hair everywhere. In drawers, on shades, clogging showers ect. A pile of shoe laces randomly left in a corner of the bedroom. Giant holes in the walls in two of the rooms. Like furniture fell down and they just decided to leave the holes. They have closets with crap inside which leaves little room for you to put your personal belongings. And if you decided that you wanted to hang your clothes, you cant. There were FOUR hangers in the entire four bedroom house. It was comical. There are wood bars missing on the deck and several loose which was a bit worrisome when we have a one year old. On the same top deck is a bucked filled with brown water and old cigarettes and cigars. Exactly what you’d want to see upon arriving to your vacation home. The listing mentioned a private gas grill which was not at the home. After contacting them for the grill, it was brought two days later thanks to Vacasa management and their quick responses. Every single lamp and electronic was unplugged at our arrival. The tv remotes had no batteries in them. only one tv out of the entire house worked. The bunk bed in the kids room doesn’t have support beams so they just sort of sunk down from the top bunk. The ladder on the bunk bed wasn’t secured. Again, in the kids room, not safe. The house and other reviews mention that the house is fully stocked and that it is certainly not what we had. There was no dishsoap, trash bags or any basic started necessities. The stickers on the bathroom windows state that they supply body wash, shampoo and conditioner and only ONE of the 4 rooms had any of that under the sink. There is no gate on the outside deck on the second floor, just a rusty hook where there once was one. On the same second floor deck there is an old pink rusted lawn chair that looks like it was left there for years. I could truly go on and on but this home is not well taken care of or managed. I am not someone who enjoys giving negative reviews but I wish I had read an honest review of this home before booking it. Shocked vacasa has this home in their portfolio The positives: The home location is amazing, their AC is top notch and vacasa management is always great
