New in our program, this home has many great reviews from past guests.

Breathe the salty ocean air on the covered porch and sundeck at this snowbird-friendly, dune cottage - perfect for your next getaway! The light and bright open layout is great for families with a welcoming living room and full kitchen. The first floor has one bedroom with a king bed. The living room has a sleeper sofa. The second floor has two bedrooms with a queen bed & a full bed in the first bedroom and a full bed & 2 single bunk bed sets in the second bedroom. Amenities include a washer/dryer, mini-split system for heating and air, cable TV, DVD player, dishwasher, and microwave. An outdoor shower rounds out this home's exterior perks.

The description of the property was exactly as we found it with the number of beds, which was important based on the size of our family. The property was a little run down and dated but it served our purpose and made for a great family vacation.

Extremely clean, with short walk to the beach. But being off the main road, made it very peaceful. Will stay here again.

Excellent Vacation

This was exactly as described in the listing and in most reviews. The place was nice and there is a large amount of sitting room. Would definitely rent again.

Great place for a great price

Each room having its own AC was a huge plus. The house had some wear and tear but nothing major. I would definitely stay here again. Gloria with Vacasa was very helpful throughout our entire stay.

Robert's Retreat

House was as advertised. Good location to the beach and to the bridge on/off the island. Each room has its own AC so each room can be adjusted to prefered temperature. Would stay here again.

Great location, perfectly situated between the intracoastal and the ocean...

Nice house, needs a little TLC, a mix up with some plumbing issues that were supposed to be fixed before we arrived but they got it done while we were there only hindered our stay a little as the plumber showed up 2 hours later then expected. Plenty of room, the kitchen had everything we needed.

Yearly Trip

We’ve been visiting yearly for the last 7 or 8 years. Each year something has been updated. One year a bathroom, one year new Mini split A/C’s in each room and this year new flooring and some new furniture. My family loves it there!!

Great Stay

Great place to stay. My family has stayed in this home multiple times over the past number of years. Every time we’ve stayed there has been a new upgrade made when we return. It’s obvious the owners are committed to improving the property. It’s a nice clean home that sits back about three blocks back. Easy walk to the beach, I’d say 5 minutes or less. I think it’s a great value. My family loves it there and we’ll definitely be back!

The entire house was very clean and well maintained. There was a minor problem with the dishwasher and they replaced it. Could not not have asked for a better experience!

Not as Expected

The house had a musty smell that we couldn’t get rid of, even after a few days of airing it out. Everything inside was pretty much outdated and worn out including the cobwebs and crumbs. The area was fine and Vacasa seemed easy to communicate with.

Summer Getaway

Robert's Retreat is a older beach house about 6 blocks from the ocean in a nice neighborhood. It's comfortable like many of the beach houses we've stayed in at Holden Beach. We worried that it might be hot because of the chalet style, but the mini-split AC system allowed each room to be comfortably cooled. There was a dehumidifier that we emptied a couple of times a day. One ceiling light was flickering and the repairman came pretty quickly to fix it. There weren't a lot of serving utensils, so it could use some spatulas, serving spoons, etc. as well as some minor repairs like towel rods in the bathrooms. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Old and literally rusty

Uneven floors in the kitchen. Old and lumpy couches and chairs. Stairs going up to the house looked like they were about to fall apart. Mildew smell throughout the house. Outside doors and bathroom doors were very rusty. Old and dirty carpets. Very disappointed with the property and it is in dire need of a total renovation.
