Sister trip

This is a house that is much better than the pictures would predict Very comfortable Perfect for outdoor sports, we brought kayaks bikes and paddleboard’s, the bike trail was just across the driveway, and ran all the way into town. Paddle boards at sunrise couldn’t be beat, kayaks and pinfish fishing made for a very fun week

Beautiful House, Beautiful Location!

We recently stayed there while in town for a music festival. Our group of 5 adults had plenty of room and privacy, yet big enough areas where we could all gather comfortably. Great layout & decorated beautifully, felt like a vacation home instead of a rental home. We did find to our surprise, a 4th bedroom with bunk beds (listing says 3). The 3 private bathrooms for the main 3 bedrooms is perfect- important for our group to have seperate bathrooms! Spacious laundry room with extra fridge and bar type ice maker was an added bonus as well. No need for the ice we stopped to get on our way- there was plenty waiting for us. Clean and comfortable. Beautiful dock/pier where we enjoyed coffee every morning and at night we would gather on the spacious deck for meals. Make sure to check the closet for patio cushions (took us a day to notice) but makes the deck furniture much more comfortable! I would recommend beach towels, as none provided and definitely back up TP and paper towels- as stated in the contract- only 1 of each provided and if you stay more than 3 nights, you will probably need more. No cleaning supplies other than the dish soap and dishwasher soap- so a container of disinfecting wipes from the Dollar General just down the street was helpful too. We also purchased paper plates & utensils- who wants to do dishes while on vacation? Although, there was an ample amount of dishes, utensils, and cooking supplies provided! We will surely stay at Poppy's place again!

Wonderful, so many sweet touches in the house. Very clean. So very roomy. A bathroom for every bedroom and one downstairs was great. Loved the view of the bay area, beautiful lighted skyline at night. We fished each day, sting rays and small fish. Great deck and outdoor area. Loved it and will return.

Beautiful, spacious home!

The house was absolutely beautiful! Tons of space and had everything we needed! Loved that there was a dollar general just a mile away and a grocery store 5 miles away that wasn’t over crowded with tourists, it was VERY convenient! The only complaint I had was that the pier had not been rebuilt, was really looking forward to that part. But still thoroughly enjoyed our week! Will definitely stay again!

Enjoyable

Loved the house, it was very spacious. Very disappointing that the spectacular pier was not rebuilt. That was a big selling point for me choosing Poppy’s Place.

Not so great

The property is dated. The carpets are nasty. There were hard black bugs in the unit. The house size was good, but it needs some updating. The king size bed was like a rock. We didn’t make it to the real estate company to pick up the packet so they did leave it in a mailbox at their office. I asked them if it was a key code for the door and they said no. Well it was an extra 14 miles to get there to find out it was a key code they left us. So wasted a half an hour with that. The towels they left were very worn and thin. They don’t give even a starter roll of paper towels or even one dish packet for the dishwasher. With all the money they charge that is pretty ridiculous. This was even an off season rental. I just thing the company managing this property needs to have the owner clean and fix things up. Again the location is pretty outside.

Hey Aimee, I appreciate you taking the time to send a review. I am truly sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. This home is one of our more popular homes that guests really seem to enjoy. That being said it is after main season and all of the homes have been well worn and are in need of a deep clean, which is up to the homeowner to order. Our off season prices do reflect this need and are lowered considerably from our summer and fall season prices. In regard to the mattresses, it is also up to each of our homeowners to update and replace furniture within the unit. We do have a list of each of the items we supply listed on our website, as well as, in the welcome email that we send out one week prior to your arrival. We do hand out a welcome bag at check in that has a starter dish soap, coupons and many other helpful items. If you happen to be after hours, we welcome you to come in the next day our office is open to pick one up. I understand that our office is a little out of the way of this property but it is our policy to have you check in at our office in order to receive all of the needed information for your stay. All of our staff within the office has been with us for a number of years and we are truly customer oriented, so I apologize for any possible miscommunication that may possibly have occurred in regard to the key code and items that we provide. I'm happy to hear that you did enjoy our beautiful beaches and hope we can provide a better experience for you in the future!

Very comfortable and accomadating

We stayed at Poppy's Place with our 2 kids and my mom. The house had more than enough room. It wasn't super modern but very comfortable and it was clean. We liked that we had our own private beach and pier. The kids had fun finding hermit crabs and watching the pelicans along the shore. The lagoon was very shallow. We walked out almost 200 yards and it only cane to to my chest. I am 5 ft 5 in. The only downfall of the shallow water was that the temp of the water was HOT, like a hot tub. And pier fishing wasn't very good. The ocean was more refreshing. The house came equip with everything you could need except beach towels. We loved that their was a kayak. We would stay again!
