Mother Daughter Granddaughters trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had the most wonderful time and the best vacation ever at Sand Cay Beach Resort. We were only booked from Friday to Monday, but after the first day of staying there, we decided to add two more days on to our trip. It was that fantastic and lots of memories were made, and are already having it our annual trip for my daughter, myself and my granddaughters, and quite possibly bringing my husband down as well a different time so I can be there two times a year. The place was very clean. The grounds were kept very, very trimmed and clean. There is nothing bad to say about this place because it’s just more than relaxing and wonderful.

End of Summer Stay

Communication with the host/management was good. The property needs maintenance and updating. As evidenced in other reviews, the couch needs updating. We were awoken our first night by the patrons on the floor below us alerting us water from our shower was leaking into their unit and maintenance would be by to look into it. Maintenance came that night. The shower was re-caulked the next morning, promptly. The TV remotes did not work, even with battery changes. The property manager offered to have maintenance work on them, however, we had purchased a Roku stick by then. The ceiling fan in the master bedroom did not work. The table on the patio’s central glass panel is not secured, nor does the umbrella open all the way. The umbrella/glass panel was tipped over by the wind and nearly landed on two family members. We have stayed at this resort in the past, and will stay here again, but definitely pick another unit.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall it’s kind of a maze to access condos. If you’re on the 3rd floor there’s no covering on walkway so every time it rains which is does almost daily in FL in the summer, you have a very hard time staying dry. When it’s sunny the walkway flooring gets very hot so wear your shoes. Would be great if laundry facilities were in each condo. Not easy to carry down and back up especially on a rainy day. Living room furniture was old and worn. Beds were comfy. For the price, you can get much more for your money in other FL locations.

Ringing in 40 with relaxation and views!

We have been coming to Sand Cay for a few years now as our chosen location for our annual trip to Longboat Key. This year we chose to come to celebrate my 40th birthday at the beach with my husband and two children. The view from this unit is bar none, it is gorgeous overlooking the serene beach. The way the couch in the family room is positioned to just sit and look out whether you’re inside or outside on the balcony adds to your experience and you get to enjoy your beach stay that much more given you see the views constantly from the unit in addition to actually being down at the beach relaxing. Tides were rough initially but water temperature was perfect and we saw dolphins! Got to enjoy Selby Gardens and a few other local Sarasota activities. We will return again, thank you for a wonderful stay!

Loved Longboat!

Nice, well-stocked unit with beautiful view and easy access to the Gulf. Located in the center of Longboat Key with easy travel to restaurants and shops in St Armand’s and Anna Maria/ Bradenton. We will be back!

Bad old lighting, one of the fan/lights sparked when we turned it on, made us feel unsafe. Thankfully we enjoyed the beach and being outside most of the time. Don't rent#316!!

A Very Needed Break

We had stayed there last year for the first time and found it to be a lovely, well maintained complex. There was always someone working around outside to keep things looking clean and neat.Unit 316 has a great view from the patio, with shade in the early day which is nice for morning and noon meals and warm sun for relaxing with some sangria later in the day. This unit, however needs some tlc. The master bed is very comfortable and the master shower is wider than some we've experienced with a seat, which is helpful for older folks like us. But the sofa is saggy in areas, there were almost no hangers (I had to actually purchase some), only 5 forks and knives. We only needed maintenance once, to reseat the screen door to the patio. And all the ladies in the office are so helpful. One helped me find a masseuse when my neck cramped up!We definitely will be back - am already looking at the other units for next year!

The condo furniture is quite dated and the carpet in the bedrooms desperately needs to be replaced. We spent most of our time at the beach so I guess it doesn't really matter but these condos are pretty pricey for the level of comfort you get.

Reviewer Comments: We love Sand Cay, have been renting here for years, and will continue to do so in the future. That being said, his unit, like many others on the property, have some issues. The bedroom carpet is disgusting and needs to be replaced asap. The dishes in the kitchen cabinets were dirty. And worst of all, the mattresses and bedding are as bad and uncomfortable as they come. These are common issues at Sand Cay. With a small budget, these units could be improved upon tremendously, but for now it's kind of hit or miss. This unit does have a great view though!

Unit 316 Great Location & Ocean Views

Unit was clean with updated bathrooms and Kitchen. Location great, enjoyed the Gulf views and easy access to the beach. Areas that need attention are: 1. Carpets in both bedrooms worn out, had a tinge of black in high traffic areas. 2. Second bedroom is in need of a drywall patch. The unit would be 5 Star if those updated were completed.
