Welcome to Red Door Retreat, our personal second home in Des Moines (we stay every 2–3 months) — a comfortable, well-kept place to relax, gather, and explore the city. Dog-friendly with no pet fee (unless extra cleaning is required). Please note: the home is not child-proofed and may be unsafe for babies or small children.
About this space
Red Door Retreat is a charming Beaverdale home with room for your group to spread out and feel at home. The property offers 4 bedrooms and 1 full bath and is thoughtfully set up for adult travelers, visiting family, and friend getaways.
We love hosting guests here when we’re not using the home ourselves, and we ask that you treat it with care — like you would a friend’s home.

4 bedrooms / 1 full bath
Comfortable living room with plenty of seating
Dining space for meals and games
Well stocked, bright kitchen with newer appliances
Bonus areas (laundry + workout space shown in photos)
Office set up in 3 season room with additional seating for 4
Outdoor dining area with fire pit
Dog-friendly (no pet fee)
We welcome well-behaved adult dogs with no additional pet fee. We stock the home with practical dog essentials — just bring your dog’s food and favorite toy.
If extra cleaning is required due to accidents, excessive hair, or damage, additional charges may apply.
Important suitability note (babies & small children)
The home is not child-proofed and may be unsafe for babies or small children (no outlet covers, breakable décor, and typical household hazards). Families are welcome to book, but please carefully consider whether the home is a safe fit for your group.
Guest access
Guests have access to the home and yard areas, except the garage, which is locked for owner storage.
Parking
Driveway and street parking are available. The garage is not accessible.
