The heart of Orange Beach is one mile east, boating a variety of options for dining, shopping, and entertainment. Adventure Island is right across the road, the serene landscapes of Gulf State Park are one mile west, and Highway 59 (which is home to such attractions as The Hangout, Pirate's Island Adventure Golf, Waterville USA, and the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo) is four miles beyond. You'll be within walking distance of several local culinary favorites (including The Flying Harpoon 2 and The Ruby Slipper Cafe), six miles south of The Wharf, and 10 miles south of the Craft Farms Golf Club.

It was a great location close to everything, but far enough away from the wilder parts of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores.

Great Condo

This was our first time visiting orange beach. Our experience at the condo was great. It’s very spacious. We loved the view from the porch and easy access to the beach. Will definitely visit again!

Time Away

Perfect place for a weekend jaunt. Only thing needed was upholstery on living room couches, dining room chairs, living room chairs and bed quilts smelled of sweat from summertime humans. These need to be cleaned properly. Never sat on the chairs and pulled quilts off the beds due to smells.

Wonderful Retreat at the Beach

Great beach and pool. Beautiful condo. Wonderful long weekend. Toaster did not work- Only complaint. I read about it on a past report and assumed it had been changed out. All in all. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay on our beach vacation at this property! It was incredibly spacious and stocked with everything we needed! My only comment for improvement would be to get blackout curtains for the master. The master is overlooking the pool and the lights are pretty bright at night.

Great Value for Family Fun

Great location, love being on the 2nd floor above the pool and easy beach access. This condo has a Private Owners pantry which was an inconvenience as we had to put all of our stuff out on the counter. The cooking utensils and cookware are very outdated and need to be upgraded ASAP!

Clean but missing some details.

Overall the location and property were super nice. The washing machine didn’t work and was never repaired during stay. The Wi-Fi was awful and did not work. The kitchen was missing lots of utensils, pans, and pots. Great condo but needs some updates. Kitchen needs to come with more cooking essentials.

Great location and spacious condo but some negatives to be aware of

I truly wish I could give this listing a 5 star review but there were some cleanliness issues. First, the positives. Very spacious unit. We were located on the second floor so it alllowed a great view of the beach and the pool. It was easier to monitor activities on the beach and monitor family members and friends. The cleanliness of Escape to the Shores was great. The pools were always clean and we watched the intensity of the cleaning efforts every morning from our balcony. The boardwalk to the beach was cleaned every morning including cleaning mats and walkway. Grills were cleaned every day and the seating areas were vacumed and swept. The evening quiet time seemed to be respected by the guests. When I had some questions about the facility, the security guard and welcome area staff were always helpful. Parking was never an issue. The negative is that we immediately saw filthy carpeting in the bedrooms. I recognize it's hard to get it clean between guests but this was terrible. More dirt and spots than any areas of clean. The curtains in the main bedroom were coming off the rod and the rod was coming apart. We were never able to close the curtains during our stay. We did report it to Vacasa, the management group of the unit. It was implied that they would repair it promptly. Nothing ever happened. There was a huge layer of mold on the lower inside shower door. Again, I recognize the high humidity is a challenge but this obviously had not been cleaned.

Family Fun

First off, the stay was awesome. The condo was as described and purely beautiful. The following are not complaints, just feedback to address some issues so that future guests are better accommodated. 1) I received multiple alerts via email and text that the unit was ready for my arrival. Including two alerts that told me to check in at the property. When I got to the property, the staff, all though very accommodating, didn’t know anything about my arrival nor where they prepared to provide the check-in package. Someone didn’t follow thru on this process 2) There were previous reviews from travelers that the kitchen utensils needed to be updated. And although there was a follow-up from management on this concern, as of my stay, nothing had changed 3) The microwave was putting out an alarm that service was needed. I could not find anyway to silence this shy of unplugging it, which is what I did. 4) The master bathroom toilet has issues. Major issues. Despite using the provided plunger, there was no unstopping it. This became a nuisance considering there were four people in the condo with one usable restroom. 5) The light in the master shower does not work 6) There are numerous leaks assumed from the condo above noticeable throughout this condo. Some of which appear to have been there awhile and present signs of mold Again, the above are not complaints. We enjoyed our stay. But addressing the issues above would have made this stay flawless and would no doubt secure our return to the same unit.

Clayton - thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your stay. I can guarantee you that we are looking into the issues that you mentioned and will resolve each one individually. We are following up on the kitchen utensils and will remove / replace any that are in need. We just had a new microwave installed this week so that shouldn't be an issue any longer. I'm sorry you had to deal with that! We are having maintenance check to see what the problem is with the master bathroom toilet and also check the light in the master shower. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay and we truly appreciate the comments you left - we want to make the place the best it can be and it really helps to hear from those that are spending time there. Great view - poorly run facility

We arrived to the condo at 3:30, due to Covid the front office was closed with a number to call listed on the door. I called the number and spoke to Rhonda asking if we could check in, her response was is it 4:00, yet? She was so rude! So I called back at 4:00 and said can we check in now, she said it's 4:00 isn't it. Again still rude! No instructions on how to go through the stairwell thru the bldg. to the 3rd floor to get the paperwork and keys to the condo. Get all of that and go to the room - keys do not work! Call Rhonda back - she's going to send someone with keys. 3 ladies and 2 kids show up with the keys-they are the cleaning crew, now it is 4:15pm I have a 4 yr old that just wants to go to the beach and we can't even get in to the room because it hasn't even been cleaned!!!!!!! They say they will clean it as fast as they can, really, during Covid clean fast. The room wasn't cleaned for me, I did my own cleaning after we finally got in the room at 5:00. 2nd night we are there we go to dinner and come back to the condo to a maintenance man in the hallway who says there is equipment in the master bathroom a fan and humidifier. They went in our room and draped their equipment over all of our PERSONAL items! Unacceptable!!!! Notify me and tell me to get my stuff out or move me to another room!!! I have yet to hear back from management. Needless to say a relaxing vacation is not what was in store for us. They kept the equipment in the master bath for the remainder of the week. We could not use the master bathroom for the rest of the week we were there. That is unacceptable! I know and understand things happen, but you communicate with folks and make it right. You don't treat people this way! The condo was a nice and as pictured minus all of the issues we had with Rhonda and the maintenance issues that were out of our control. To say the least we will not be back to Escapes!
