This two-story home is located in a hub of fresh-air fun that includes hiking and biking trails, ski slopes, and golfing. Make every day a new adventure, then refuel at nearby family-friendly restaurants. Soak in the bubbling, private hot tub, grill festive vacation meals on the deck, complete with covered alfresco dining and chairs, or unwind on the furnished back porch. As part of the sought-after Tahoe Donner neighborhood, enjoy access to unrivaled amenities like a rec center, tennis center, and marina.



The open-concept main living area offers ample seating, lots of natural light, and a double-sided gas fireplace. Gather in the entertainment room and snuggle up on a large sectional to watch movies on the 55-inch TV. The gourmet kitchen has a brand new dishwasher, utensils, pots/pans, plates, and silverware for whipping up tasty meals after a day of alpine fun. (Please note that cooking supplies (i.e. salt/pepper/oil/spices) are not provided. Serve appetizers at the three-seat kitchen bar, then dine together at a table set for ten. Extra perks include complimentary WiFi and two washer/dryer units.

It was great except for poor lighting in downstairs bedroom and portions of upstairs, including the area arond the step down from the floor behind the railing shown in the picture. Unfortunately, I missed that step and fell on the first evening of our stay, resulting in a serious knee injury that ended the vacation for my wife and myself.

Perfect Spot for Families Traveling Together

We stayed at this house for a couple days before sending our kids off to sleepaway camp, and it was absolutely perfect for our group. The layout gave everyone enough room to spread out and relax without feeling on top of each other, and the common areas were great for gathering, cooking meals, and letting the kids play. The house was clean, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend it for groups or families traveling together. We’re already talking about coming back next year!

It’s beautiful in the summer!

We had a lovely girl’s trip in this beautiful home during late June. We loved the location and access to amenities (Donner Lake beach area was so nice and fun!) The home has lots of room to spread out and is very beautifully and comfortably decorated. The kitchen has tons of utensils and gadgets. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!

Four bedroom gem!

Our stay at this Tahoe Donner house was fantastic! The interior was cozy and has all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The living area was spacious and perfect for relaxing after a day out. The kitchen was well-equipped, making meal prep a breeze, and the bedrooms were comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed spending time on the deck, taking in the beautiful views, and the hot tub was a great way to unwind in the evenings. The location was convenient, with easy access to skiing and downtown Truckee, Northstar, etc. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this property to others looking for a Tahoe getaway!

Just ok. Could have been much better.

The house itself is gorgeous. There is much need however for repair and maintenance. The carpet was filthy and almost every window screen was damaged or missing ( and you need to keep the windows open because there is no central air). Good thing is there are no mosquitoes at that altitude, however there were several flies that visited with us during our stay.

Fantastic home- great space for a big family

Loved our stay at Stockholm Luxury Retreat. There were 12 of us and the place felt so spacious with this many people. At times, it was hard to find the kids, who enjoyed the vast space to play hide and seek. The layout of the house gives enough privacy for everyone when they need it while the vast common areas is very welcoming and accommodating when everyone is together. The place was in very clean condition, furnitures are in good shape, kitchen was wonderfully supplied- we love to cook and it was nice to be in a house where I didn't miss my kitchen at home. The wine ref is a nice touch;-) Thanks to the super friendly and helpful staff at Vacasa for making it all easy to book. They sent arrival instructions on time and made the important information conveniently accessible. Couldn't say anything more about this place- we will be back!

Spacious home with plenty of room for large families!

This home although spacious is a bit tired and unkept. Dishwasher leaked, high ceiling had many floating cobwebs that fell on us. Back porch railing felt unsafe for children. Master and upstairs bedrooms had uncomfortable beds and all the linens were torn and tired. Paper towels and TP were very poor quality. Text message said my check out was 10:00 am and when I said I needed extra time for a late check out they said , sorry it had to be pre-arranged via an email that I never received! Sent them a screen shot of my contract that clearly stated 11:00! We were out at 10:30 am!

Will Not Go Back Here

We stayed here last year and loved it. This year was an awful experience. We were a party of nine but there were only enough towels for four people. We immediately tried contacting the host via phone and chat and were not helped until 13 hours later. We couldn’t shower. Finally someone called us and gave us the code to the locked closet where all the towels were. Also, the place was dirty. There was a half eaten pear on the bathroom counter, used dental floss and empty toilet paper rolls on the floor in a bedroom. Used tissue stuffed in the sides of the couch. A pill was also in the floor in a closet. It was as if housekeeping missed rooms when they cleaned. Finally, they need to do some updating. None of us slept well as all mattresses were uncomfortable. Either too hard or felt like springs were coming through. The ceiling fan in the downstairs bedroom was broken. Window in TV room wouldn’t close. The communication sent out from VRBO is also wrong. I got one text with checkout info saying checkout was at 11 and to run the dishwasher and take out the garbages. Then a few minutes later I got an email saying checkout was at 10 and to strip the beds and take out the trash. This house is spacious, beautiful and in a great location. It just needs a little TLC and better management. Disappointed in the lack of response when we had a problem. We should have gotten a return call within an hour or two so we could have some towels.

Very large house and nicely decorated. Would stay again. Very nice hot tub as well. The heat is disproportionate and it's warm upstairs but still chilly in the sole bedroom downstairs. That could to be regulated better. Also could have been cleaned a little better in some spots, but overall very acceptable. The backyard has no neighbors close by, that is a very big plus. Overall a very pleasant home. Thank you.

Early Thanksgiving stay

This house was EXACTLY like it was in the pictures and virtual tour. The instructions were all easy to follow and check-in & out were simple and seamless. The house was fully stocked with towels, dishes, cooking supplies, working grill and hot tub, toilet paper, soaps and shampoos, laundry and dish soap, pillows and blankets. The location was AMAZING, there was a safeway 10 min away for any last min pick ups. This place has everything you can think of. I had to call customer service about the location of the outside trash and she was helpful and quick. In the mornings you will be surprised to see deer hanging out in the back yard in close view (they were lovely).

Lots of space!

We recently traveled here with one other family. We loved how much space there was in the home it could have easily accommodated 3 or 4 families. Noise didn't really carry between the bedrooms which was nice especially since we all have young kids. The downstairs bedroom mattress has a pretty big hole in the middle of it. There was only 1 hand towel in the whole place in 1 wash cloth. We contacted property management about the latter and they brought over more wash cloths within 36 hours. There wasnt and a single pair of scissors in the entire house. That was kind of frustrating because when you're on vacation in your buying food and new items and toys scissors are A pretty handy tool to have around. There was also no binder with recommendations for nearby attractions, food etc. We really enjoyed the hot tub even though the deck is on the smaller side. All that said, We would stay here again.
