This two-story home sits a quarter-mile from an access path to a peaceful stretch of Heceta Beach, a wonderful, tranquil spot for boogie boarding and beachcombing. The property itself is quiet, surrounded by beautiful coastal vegetation, and securely fenced for your dogs. In the surrounding area, you'll have great options for crabbing, fishing, hiking, and visiting such Oregon Coast landmarks as the Sea Lion Caves and Heceta Head Lighthouse.



Walk home from the beach in the afternoons to let your dogs play on the pebbly grounds, relax outside on the small front porch, or gather around the firepit to swap stories and ease the chill of the ocean waves.



The home's interior is bright, open, and inviting. Get started on dinner in the well-equipped kitchen, sit down to eat at the two breakfast bars, and spend the evening hours watching DVDs from the movie library and playing board games in the living room.

Private and perfect for quick trip

Smooth and easy check in process. The privacy of the property was great for our family and our dog! The house was super clean and had necessities minus groceries but Fred Meyer was less than 10 mins down the road. Beach was a short walk down 2 blocks, which was perfect. We enjoyed staying here.

A great and private space to enjoy your Oregon adventure!

We have stayed here twice and absolutely love that there is a large yard with a privacy fence. In addition, the beach is only a block away which is great. There are so many fun things to do in the area and we thoroughly enjoyed a sandboarding experience behind the Fred Meyers in Florence. I would highly recommend staying here!

Great spot!

This place was great! A short walk right to the beach. Plenty of towels available as well as pillows. If I had one minor suggestion it would be to have instructions on how to use the tv and the recliner. lol. We would definitely stay here again!

Great for a small family or a few old friends

I stayed with my daughter so two women alone for the weekend. The Fortress is just that!! We felt so safe and secure! We had a great relaxing time. The place is so private and secluded but yet surrounded by neighbors. It is close to everything in Florence. We had a great time walking down to the beach, the directions on the inside of the door were perfect, I just snapped a picture and away we went. It was very easy to find. Plenty of towels and bedding.

The Prefect Getaway

This is the cutest house in a perfect location with great restaurants nearby and the beach right around the corner. Perfect spot for one or two couples. Fenced in yard and a firepit. Pictures online do not do it justice. Will definitely be back. Turns out I know the artist of the paintings inside too! Cool!

Great stay after a Rouge River trip

We floated the Rouge River 4 days prior to our stay at The Fortress. The lovely and dog friendly home and yard had everything we needed. Most important was a secure place to drop our boat and trailer. Plenty of secure and safe space for 2 trucks and 2 trailers. Walking distance to beach was epic. Quick drive to Old Town and all major restaurants. Fred Myers close and convienient. Touring Sea Lion caves, beaching it at Haceta and visiting Old Town Florence was our one day adventures. Ohhhh, get ice cream and taffy at BJ’s. Easy to find location and super cozy house. Awesome stay!!

The house was clean, which was very nice. However, there was a very strong smell...cleaning or disinfecting products? We live two doors down and I was unable to even sit on the front porch. The fence was sturdy and there was a nice dog bowl for water. However, the grounds had a lot of debris...LOTS of cigarette butts (we picked up many to make sure the dog wouldn't eat them), and other bits of trash. The bad outweighed the good so we won't be using this location again.
