The Octagon on the Beach



The Space:

This stunningly engineered two-story home offers an oceanfront location with unsurpassed views and a unique octagon-shaped construction. Sunshine fills the main level, and panoramic views stretch all the way from the mouth of the Columbia River to the north to Tillamook Head just south of Seaside. The beach and ocean surround you, with beach access just outside.



On the main level, you'll find a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, plus two beautifully appointed bedrooms, one with its own bathroom. You'll also have a spacious, sun-filled living room and dining area, plus another full bathroom. In the center of the home is a spiral staircase that leads down to the lower level, with two more bedrooms and a full bath. You'll marvel at the structural beams that give this home its unique distinction. You'll have plenty of outdoor space as well. With a wraparound deck in the front, perfect for sun worshiping and picnics. Another deck in the back is perfect for the morning cup of coffee and newspaper.

This was the perfect place to for our Oregon coast adventure. Close to Cannon Beach and Ecola State Park. The view made morning coffee and evening sunsets very peaceful. We would definitely stay again.

Great views of the beach with easy access. We had a great long weekend enjoying the beach and sunset from the deck. We even saw a few whales! House was a little older and basement could use some updates, but it all worked fine. The stairs were a little steep for our toddler, but the house provided a baby gate to keep him safe. I would stay here again.

Well stocked and nice views. Lots of seating upstairs. Cypher door entry is through a bedroom downstairs and the central stairs are a circular staircase. For our group, one person chose to enter the house from the deck door (using outside stairs) once one of us went upstairs and unlocked it. No problem, just an option if someone feels uncomfortable with a circular staircase. Short walk to the beach and short walk to the promenade from the cottage.

Everything was perfect! The house was clean, the kitchen is well stocked with dishes and spices, and the beds were very comfortable. The view is gorgeous as well you can’t go wrong by staying here. Proximity to the beach and town is also great.

a nice, well-appointed house in a great location. i would have given higher marks except for the complicated and frustrating registration/check-in process. the host--i.e., the management company running the show--asks guests to fill out an online form and verify identification even after full payment. the latter involves providing photos of the renter's driver's license or passport and a selfie. okay, but then the online system they've set up for this doesn't actually work. we had a lot of back and forth emails about this and they admitted that most of their clients were having this same problem. the situation continued over the course of a month and was only resolved when they finally told me i didn't need to send the photos... just the day before check-in. by this time i had guests arriving from four cities on two continents and was starting to stress out. to their credit, they typically responded quickly and pleasantly to my queries, but they really do need to improve their process.
