The Seasideloft Atlantico is the ideal place to relax, read, listen to the sea, enjoy the vastness, linger on the nearby beach & swim in the sea, or dine in one of the surrounding restaurants and explore central Portugal.
The flat stands out in every respect for its spaciousness and expanse. Stylishly designed rooms await you on a floor area of 160sqm, from which you can look out over the water everywhere. 

The heart of the loft is the living room with its large seating area and endless views over the sea and access to the 80sqm roof terrace with spectacular views over the Atlantic and the Óbidos lagoon. On the roof terrace you will find sun loungers and parasols, as well as a large dining table with seating for six and a barbecue.

The living room has a comfortable seating area with two sofas, various armchairs, a large TV and a small German-language library.
The living room is also equipped with air conditioning, which cools the room nicely on hot summer days and keeps it cosily warm on cooler evenings.
In the Chinese chest of drawers - a family heirloom - are plaids made of Kashmir wool and simple flowing blankets in sufficient numbers for anyone who likes to snuggle up on the sofa, or on a colder summer evening on the roof terrace.
The open-plan living room also houses the dining area with an extendable dining table that seats six and is furnished with small sheepskin plaids so you can sit comfortably together for a long time.

The very well-equipped kitchen with balcony and sea view invites you to prepare meals yourself with time & muse. You can select the fresh ingredients at your leisure during a stroll through the daily market and fish market in nearby Caldas da Rainha. 

The spacious living-dining area with kitchen extends with its 80 sqm to the sleeping area of the loft, which is accessible through an extra door, so that anyone who wants to go to bed earlier can really sleep undisturbed, while others may want to end the evening a little longer with a glass of wine or a movie night.

The master bedroom "Quarto Africano" is located on the left side of the hallway and has a size of more than 20 sqm, a king size bed (1,80x2,00), a private balcony and an en suite bathroom with bathtub, bidet, washbasin, heated towel rail and toilet.

The master bedroom is decorated in ethnic style with handmade "baskets" from our partner initiative in Zimbabwe. You are welcome to have a look at the "Bingbasketsandart" site during your stay. The spacious bedroom also has a large recamiere with side table on which you can enjoy a small aperitif.
The master bedroom has airy curtains that reflect the maritime flair, as well as blackout blinds that completely darken the room for a deep and undisturbed sleep. From this bedroom you have access to a balcony with a small two-seater seating area, in case you want to retire in the evening and still not miss the sea view.

To the right of the hallway is the "Quarto Lagoa" with its queen-size bed (1.55x2.00). The room is decorated in warm earth tones and furnished with wooden furniture. It has a small console desk with a beautiful armchair made of recycled old wood.
From this room you have a view of the lagoon. Thanks to the original vegetation of the embankment, birdsong accompanies you through the day in this room, while the Atlantic Ocean gently roars in the background.
This bedroom has its own bathroom, which you reach via the hallway. It has a bathtub, bidet, washbasin, heated towel rail and toilet.

In both bathrooms you will find sustainable hotel cosmetics in environmentally friendly dispensers. Shampoo and shower gel, as well as the body lotion of the Italian brand "Prija" are available for your stay.

If you are our guest in autumn or winter, underfloor heating in the bedrooms and bathrooms will ensure cosy comfort.

In addition to a small welcome greeting, towels made of organic cotton and slippers are ready for you upon arrival.

For your stay, you can - if desired - book an additional wellness package consisting of a bathrobe, which you are welcome to use during your stay with us, and two extra large bath towels per person. Just get in touch with us!

THE BEACH

The beach of Foz do Arelho can be reached on foot in 5 minutes. It is not overcrowded even in high season and is located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Óbidos Lagoon. You have the choice between two completely opposite types of beach. On the one hand, there is the beautiful lagoon, whose calm waters invite you to swim and are ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing because of the almost constant wind.

The beach on the other side, which faces the sea with its low currents, is a paradise for surfers. The Blue Flag flies here, certifying its good water quality.

Our loft owes its spectacular sea views to its hillside location, which means the walk back from the beach is uphill. :)

THE LAGAUNE

The Óbidos lagoon is a sought-after spot on the kite scene and has a sailing school that also offers catamaran sailing and windsurfing. 
However, the lagoon also has a quiet and contemplative side that invites exploration. Especially the south-eastern part offers a very pristine nature, and on some days it is possible to observe flamingos here. 

RESTAURANTS

You can reach numerous restaurants on the beach and also two beach bars in a few minutes on foot. Other very good restaurants can be found in the centre of Foz do Arelho. You will find recommendations for restaurants in our travel guide.
Of course, everyone is happy if guests of your country speak at least a few words in your language, but this is not necessary in Foz do Arelho, because almost all the staff of the restaurants in Foz do Arelho speak English, quite a few of them fluently. In the restaurant "Cocos", on the waterfront, German is also spoken.

SHOPPING

In Foz do Arelho you will find three small supermarkets, a butcher's and a butcher's shop, as well as various pastry shops, one of which - with excellent typical Portuguese pastries - is only 2 minutes away from the "Seasideloft-Atlantico".

THE SURROUNDINGS

The nearby medieval town of Óbidos is one of the most picturesque and best preserved towns in Portugal. The town wall, dating from 1527, can be walked all around. The small town with its narrow streets, small shops and numerous churches invites you to stroll around.

In addition to the Praça da Fruta and the fish market, Caldas da Rainha also has a ceramics museum. One focus of this collection is the works of Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro, who is known far beyond Portugal's borders.

Around Foz do Arelho and the Óbidos lagoon there are numerous opportunities for long walks and hikes. There are both easy routes and challenging ones that require good physical condition and stamina.

We want you to relax with us! That is why we are happy to help you with your luggage if you arrive before 8 pm and also offer a shopping service against a small fee, so that you will find everything you need for a relaxed start to your holiday when you arrive.

Please note that the loft is on the 4th floor and unfortunately the house does not have a lift. Please take this into account when booking and decide if something like this is an option for you on your holiday.
