Quiet and secluded yet incredibly convenient, this woodland chalet is just a few steps from Mt. Abram Family Resort and the perfect spot for your next vacation to Greenwood!

Beautifully positioned with views of the surrounding forest and mountains, this home features a bright interior with updates that everyone is sure to appreciate, from a new leather sectional sofa to new counters in the kitchen and bathrooms. Enjoy the vaulted great room with its floor-to-ceiling windows and wood-burning stove and gather around the deck and firepit to cap summer days of hiking and mountain biking.

This home sits just around the corner (a quarter-mile) from the base of Mt. Abram, making this an ideal escape for skiers and snowboarders. You'll also find ample opportunities for snowshoeing and snowmobiling in the area. Sound Pond, North Pond, and Round Pond are all less than three miles away, offering public access points for swimming, kayaking, and fishing in the summer. Come autumn, you can take scenic drives through the region to admire the gorgeous foliage for which Maine is known.

Loved this spot!

Perfect place to vacation! Went as two couples so the 2 bathrooms and separation of the upstairs bedroom was perfect. Such a cozy and cute spot, only 20 minutes from Sunday River!

Ski weekend

The home is clean, bright and comfortable for a group of 4-6. Convenient to Mt Abram and a short drive to Bethel and Sunday River. Fully equipped kitchen allows for cooking at home after a day of skiing. Plenty of bathroom linens and comfortable beds.

Look forward to next our next stay at the Mullen Chalet

We had a wonderful stay at the Mullen Chalet that’s within walking distance to Mt. Abram and a short drive to Sunday River. The open concept kitchen and living room allowed us to prepare dinner while chatting with guests relaxing on the wrap-around couch. In addition, the chalet was comfortable and clean with large windows that provided picturesque views of the snow-covered tree branches. Our two dogs enjoyed the deck and quiet neighborhood. The travel sized soap, shampoo, and makeup wipes were appreciated. The check in and check-out process was easy, and the written laminated instructions in the chalet were helpful. The Mullen Chalet pays tribute to the motto “Maine, the way life should be.” We look forward to staying there again.

Wastewater on floor in basement, broken dishwasher, dirty bathrooms

This place is a mess. There was raw wastewater pooling on the floor in the basement in front of the washer/dryer and under the pool table. The toilet on the main floor had urine on it from previous guests, mold growing in the grout in the shower, the dishes and silverware had food remnants remaining, counter tops were sticky, upstairs bathroom room shower head was broken and fell off when we turned the water on. Don't book through VRBO because you get ZERO customer service that way. Vacasa sent someone to the house who wanted to make repairs while we were using the home which simply isn't realistic or fair to paying customers. All of these items should have been addressed BEFORE renting the property. How can you not notice these things when you are "cleaning and preparing" for your next guests.

Thank you for your review, Frank. We are so sorry to hear of the disappointing stay you had at our home. Please note that the water on the floor was not waste water, but was overflow rainwater from a severe storm we had during your stay that shut down roads and highways. We attempted to assist you with these issues while they were in the house, but we understand that you are simply trying to enjoy your vacation and may feel hesitant to have cleaning or repairs done during your stay. Unfortunately, the cleaning concerns were not mentioned to us during our communication. We have addressed this issue with our housekeeping staff. The dishwasher is less than one year old and the owner is contacting the manufacturer for a warranty repair. We are so sorry for the less-than-stellar stay and we hope we can have another chance to impress you.

poorly managed, dirty, broken appliances and fixtures

We arrived to a puddle of wastewater on the floor in the basement in front of the laundry and pool table. You had to wade through this puddle to turn on the water to the house, to use the laundry, or access the "bedroom" in the unfinished basement. The toilet in the main floor bathroom had urine on it, and the shower had mold in the grout. The kitchen was not cleaned well, the dishes, silverware, and pots had old food on them. The dishwasher doesn't clean dishes. It seems to run, but the dishes remained dirty after 3 cycles. The second floor bathroom shower head fell off when we turned it on because its broken and was left like that. Aside from that, it was lovely (note the sarcasm). The manager offered no compensation for the deficiencies, but did offer to come and repair while we were staying in the home. Sure, maybe if we were staying for free we would be willing to deal with repair people, house cleaners, appliance techs, and mold remediation companies, but we paid to have the home to ourselves. Having repair people there while we are trying to enjoy a vacation isn't appropriate. All these defects should have been repaired BEFORE we arrived. I do not recommend it.

This is a perfect spot for anyone into the great outdoors. We were in the shadow of Mt. Abram, so if we were skiiers it would be the perfect place. I hope to return in the summer one day to check out Mt. Abram's bike park. We were minutes away from tons of great hiking trails. We're a family of 6 and we were very comfortable in the house. Plenty of space to stretch out. The layout was perfect for hanging out with the family. The kitchen was well stocked, it even had a lemon/lime squeeze and a garlic press! We made use of both. The wood burning stove came in handy one of the nights. We were really impressed with the house and plan to return.

Very cute place, if it was winter it would have been perfect in the snow, but we still have a nice time. We came from FL and it weather was fantastic trees and a fire was all I was looking for 😊

Cozy cabin in lovely area

Overall, very good. Could use more lighting both inside and outside. Dishwasher didn’t work very well. We did have a great time.

Our stay was just what I wanted the weather was beautiful and the Mullen Chalet was just right for us comfortably accommodated the family better than home everything we needed The charm of the Chalet is very Relaxing especially sitting near the Chimneia at night having a cupa Greenwood Bean Coffee from the very nearby Roaster My morning coffee was warmed with the sun shining on the deck and a nice breeze The virtual tour and photos are What you see is what you get! My complements Awesome job on having everything well cared for Doggies had a great time and slept well Thank y’all for letting us keeping them Included with our perfect stay!!

Perfect base for skiing

We had a very nice stay at Mullen Chalet. It was a rainy weekend, but with Apple TV, ping pong, and billiards there was plenty to keep kids entertained. The house is really nice and super close to Mt. Abram.

Great Escape

Looking for a place the captures the true north experience? The Mullen Chalet Captured it, and provided my family with a great weekend away. Clean, neat and well maintained…spotless! Loved using the wood fire stove, although it was more for our enjoyment as the heating system kept the house nice and warm… Can’t wait to visit again, hopefully for the last spring hiking season… oh and being so close to Sunday River was just an added plus….

A great little chalet at the base of Mount Abram. Clean, comfortable, and very well appointed with the necessities. Great location for hiking, gorgeous scenic drives, and enjoying nature.
