Just a few minutes’ walk to the Rhine and the historic city wall of Rees.
Rees is the ideal starting point for numerous excursions in the Lower Rhine region, e.g., to Xanten (the “Siegfried City”), Moyland Castle in Kalkar, the centuries-old moated castle of Anholt, the Anholter Schweiz wildlife park, Germany’s longest suspension bridge in Emmerich am Rhein, or a visit to the weekly market in Dinxperlo, the Netherlands.
Take a “Fietstour” (bike tour) through the beautiful Lower Rhine countryside. The Lower Rhine Route’s network of bike paths spans more than 2,000 km and is the longest in Germany.
