A house that breathes and lets its guests breathe easy. Right in the heart of town, yet secluded. At night, with a view of the stars. During the day, with sunny and shady spots. The renovated old winemaker’s house, with its new addition, is at ground level and faces a sunny courtyard. The vacation home is spacious and offers plenty of room for families or a group of people who want to spend a vacation or retreat together. The house consists of three bedrooms (each sleeping two people), a large open space, a living room-kitchen, a bathroom, and two separate restrooms. In the large, bright courtyard, a shady walnut tree and a pear tree grow. There’s space here for a dining table on the terrace as well as a table under the walnut tree, lounge chairs, and plenty of open space. The former vegetable garden has many wild corners, and a fire pit transforms the house into a small oasis. The house is particularly well-suited for families with children as well as for people seeking a shared space for quiet and meditation. The three bedrooms, each with a double bed, can accommodate up to six people, with room for up to two additional guests in the empty room (on mattresses on the floor). The walls are finished with clay plaster, which creates a pleasant indoor climate even during the hottest days of summer. The courtyard, the house, and large parts of the garden are secluded from view, while you yourself enjoy a view of an orchard with scattered fruit trees. In the garden village of Schiltern, you’ll find two show gardens, both within walking distance: the show garden of the Arche Noah association and the Kittenberger Erlebnisgärten. The BrauSchneider brewery is also located in the village. Several local wine taverns (Heurige) invite you to linger as well. In nearby Langenlois, you’ll find the Ursin Haus wine shop—where you can also rent e-bikes—the Loisium Wine Experience, and the restaurant at the Loisium Hotel. The Kronseeg reservoir is a 30- to 45-minute walk, a 10-minute bike ride, or a 5-minute drive away. A playground and a Funcord are right next to our garden—the children don’t have to cross the street to get there. From the village, you can go on beautiful hikes and bike rides to the neighboring Kamptal, the Waldviertel, and Krems. Check-in is from 1:00 PM.
