Retiro familiar Glidden Drive Beach en el lago Michigan

Nuestra familia tiene vínculos con esta área que se remontan a generaciones. Glidden Drive es una carretera escénica aislada a 10 millas al este del centro de Sturgeon Bay en el lago Michigan. Nuestra casa se encuentra en un pequeño acantilado con vistas a las dunas de arena ondulante con 180 pies de frente de playa de arena. Está enclavado entre pinos y abedules. Los vecinos más cercanos están a 2 lotes en cualquier dirección. Hay amplias vistas sin obstáculos del lago Michigan, lo que hace que se sienta como si fuera la única casa en la playa. Los amaneceres aquí son impresionantes y diferentes cada día. En otoño e invierno, incluso puede ver los colores cambiantes durante la puesta de sol a pesar de la orientación este de la casa.

Es nuestra casa de vacaciones también. Está completamente abastecido con ropa de cama, toallas, algunos artículos de tocador, ollas y sartenes, cubiertos, utensilios para servir, utensilios para hornear, una olla, una prensa francesa, vasos, tazas, platos, tazones, especias, tablas de cortar, teteras, manteles, etc.

Hay 2 dormitorios con cama queen, 1 baño completo, 2 medios baños y una habitación extra con 2 juegos de camas gemelas. La cocina cuenta con refrigerador, estufa, horno, tostadora, microondas y cafetera. Dos comedores con capacidad para 14. Hay tres sofás acogedores en las 2 habitaciones familiares, un sofá se extiende a una cama queen en el nivel inferior. Hay una lavadora y secadora. Hay chimeneas de leña en las habitaciones familiares superiores e inferiores.

Hay infinitas cosas que hacer en la zona. Al otro lado de la carretera, hay rutas de senderismo de Nature Conservancy. Justo al norte, a unas 10 millas, se encuentra el Parque del Condado de Cave Point y el Parque Estatal Whitefish Dunes. Justo al suroeste, a unas 10 millas, se encuentra el centro de Sturgeon Bay con tiendas, un mercado de agricultores, restaurantes, bares, YMCA, el Museo Marítimo del Condado de Door y mucho más. El lanzamiento de un bote se encuentra a 1. 5 millas al sur en Glidden Drive.

Absolutely beautiful property with gorgeous lake views and a beautiful sandy beach. Very easy to access and everything was as described in the property description. Response from the owner was very prompt and professional. Highly recommend and especially for families with children; although we did not need it during our stay, there were a lot of kid friendly amenities, like a highchair, crib, toys, and books.

Love the location of the property. Views of the lake from the back patio were just what I was looking for. You can walk directly down to the lake from the property. Quiet neighborhood

October stay-cation

The home is spacious with Lake Michigan just steps away. The neighborhood is quiet with very little traffic. Door County never disappoints, the first time in years it didn’t rain during my stay. 🤗

Beautifully Peaceful

Clean mid century house high on the bluffs of Lake Michigan. Comfortable, peaceful, and beautiful scenery. We enjoyed the outside patio. Perfect for stargazing.

This was top notch. The home itself is exquisite...a warm hug, a hearty, well appointed and very clean, welcome, with breathtaking views. We slept very comfortably on the beds that were covered with mattress protectors (as were all the pillows) and very comfy blankets. I loved that 2 vacumes, brooms and dustpans were readily available too so we can keep up with the sand. I adore that this home is pup friendly, our dog is 10 but she got into the beach vibe quickly. The master bedroom accomodates our dog bed perfectly. Our family suffered a loss an really needed an unwind, and a chance to slow down and experience joy, which we did in spades. It was perfect. My husband and I so enjoyed the gravity chairs on back patio for reading when we weren't in the water, and for stargazing over the Lake, at night. We experienced the kayaks and paddleboards and loved that a canoe was also availalbe to us. The fire pit was a big hit with our teenager who cooked his brat and bun over a fire one evening (Thanks for having metal marshmellow hooks by the indoor fireplace for this!). From top to bottom, inside and out this VRBO is one of, if not THE nicest home we've had the privilege to stay in. Thank you Jill and Ryan!

Perfect lske vacation!

Oh my goodness! This was a really ideal lake house. Well-equipped, very clean, very comfortable, amazing views, and much more private than any other rental we've had in Door County. It was a restful, peaceful, beautiful week. Many many thanks to the hosts for sharing such a wonderful place!

Beautiful Beach Retreat

We wanted to get away for a quiet couple's weekend and this place was perfect for us! We spent hours walking along the beach and cuddling on the couch and watching the lake through the big windows. The sunrises were amazing! It was too cold to make a fire outside so we enjoyed the indoor fireplace. This property was perfect for our needs: quiet, clean, with beautiful nature views and easy access to the beach and other hiking trails. The house was very well stocked with everything we needed, it was clear that someone had put a lot of thought into what travelers might need during their stay and we felt well taken care of. We would definitely stay here again for another long weekend get-away!

Amazing view with everything you need

This place is great, and really felt like a home away from home. We have two kids, and we were able to travel a lot lighter because Jill and Ryan stock this house with everything we needed and wanted for our kids. It made everything so much easier, and we really appreciated that the house was so well stocked. It made our family time so much better because we were all so comfortable. And the lake views were incredible! We were able to appreciate the lake even when the weather was a little dreary. I would definitely like to go back.

Perfect getaway

What a beautiful location! We loved staying along the dunes on a nearly private beach. We even saw a pair of fox hanging out by their den! The water was still a bit too cold to swim, but wading in on the soft sand was wonderful. We loved searching for beautiful, smooth stones and use of the kayaks was so appreciated. Having campfires while hearing the waves roll is the best! Jill and Ryan's home was well stocked with everything we needed and there was tons of space to spread out. The beds were comfortable and the sleeping spaces numerous. We cooked most of our meals and found everything we needed. We made a quick trip to nearby Sturgeon Bay for a grocery run, the farmer's market, an awesome game store, candy store and pizza at Sonny's. We also took a short drive north to explore Whitefish Dunes and Cave Point Park, and stopped at Pelican Cove Tiki Bar and Ice Cream Shack for treats for all. But we spent most of our time just enjoying this fabulous property. The home was clean and comfortable. Jill was quick to respond to messages and it was clear that much care has gone into this lovely home. We hope to return again!

Wonderful stay!

We loved this house and our stay. It had everything we could have needed, tons of towels, kitchen had everything we needed and it was spotless when we arrived. The beach next to the deck was great for the kids. We loved our stay and we definitely plan to stay there again!

Amazing sand dunes property

Our daughters loved playing out in the sand and my wife and I really enjoyed taking a nice afternoon kayak ride just steps from the back door. The house is so cozy and fully stocked for both adults and kiddos of all ages. Enjoying the waves at night, and having a nightly fire were some of our highlights from the week.

Weekend Getaway

Fantastic location

The property is perfectly set on Lake Michigan and has stunning views. The property is well maintained and offered what we were looking for. This can easily support larger groups. It's very quiet and we only saw the neighbor to the south once. Very nice gentleman. It's perfectly located with in driving distance to all that Door County has to offer. Jill is great to work with and I highly recommend this property for your next getaway.

Dunes, Beach Wonderful

Very quiet, nice home sitting on a dune overlooking Lake Michigan. Wonderful quiet beach walk both ways. Slept so well listening to the waves.

Quiet getaway with AMAZING VIEWS

We loved our 7 day stay. The house was great. The beachfront property is amazing - secluded and quiet. Beach is great for all ages. Kayaking and paddle boarding was a lot of fun.

Awesome property on Lake Michigan

We were absolutely blown away by the view. The charming home sits above rolling dunes with an expansive view of the lake. Spacious lot with forest growth on either side felt private & was perfect for our pup to be off leash. We enjoyed time on the shore looking for rocks & taking walks. We played games & shared meals on the back patio. Mid-century interior was exceptionally clean, tidy, well stocked & maintained. Worked great for two families with kids. Only downsides are lack of cell reception (although maybe that’s an upside on vacation) & no dishwasher, but all the amenities provided, excellent communication, stellar lake view & lovely shoreline more than make up for it. We didn’t want our getaway to end, great place to make lasting memories.

My husband has been spending time in this area since he was a child, through him I grew to love Door County. In fall of 2013 we bought this home on a whim and look forward to family trips for years to come. I find it hard to go home after time spent on Glidden Drive, its so beautiful and peaceful.
