place was nice-location close to the beach-the hill was not fun but the view is beautiful. communication was not great however when we did get a hold of them, they were helpful. pool area small and only 4 chairs to accommodate.

Reviewer Comments: Great view, very nice unit adequate kitchen supplies,only complaints were the lack of patio furniture (there were 6 of us and only 3 chairs).The other negative,the hill to get into Tamarindo is very steep. Probably should have rented a car or golf cart. Management company was great,we had 2 small issues,and they were there immediately to fix them.

Fine place to stay

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo was fine. We booked late this year so las Mareas #4 was one of the only rentals still available for our dates. It was clean, appliances were all in working order. Front sliding door did not lock and there was an issue with the actual front door as well (issue with door jamb) we called RPM but they never came to look at it or fix. It was a little unnerving that night to leave doors i clicked. All other rental units were unoccupied as well (minus the first 2 nights). Pool is small and tucked In the shade-no view.

RPM and Las Mareas the perfect combination for a great vacation.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The ocean views from Las Mareas are even better than the online pictures. You can open up the large accordian style doors from the living room and from the master bedroom and enjoy the fresh ocean air. We rented a golf cart and enjoyed going into town and the beach, but then retreated to the quiet and peaceful property of Las Mareas.RPM is a great management company. They provided all of the necessary renter information ahead of time. They also provided a list of recommended activities. We worked specifically with Elena at RPM. She booked our golf cart rental. The golf cart was delivered they day we arrived and then they came back and picked it up at the end of the week. Elena also booked a zip line tour, secured a dinner reservation and scheduled a shuttle to take us to the airport. It was like RPM provided a personal concierge to help make our trip smooth and stress free. We can wait to go back to Tamarindo and stay at Las Mareas again.

Ideal location

Perfect spot. Close to town for easy access to dining, but far enough away for a peaceful retreat. Great central location to some amazing surf, Playas Grande, Langosta, Avellana, Witch's Rock, etc. We will be back.

Spectacular Views!

The property is beautiful. It is clean and stocked. There is built in soap/shampoo/conditioner in the showers. It could use a few more kitchen utensils. We cooked a few meals there. We all slept really well on the comfy beds. There are lots of linens & pillows. The views from the balconies are amazing! It is a quiet spot from the craziness in Tamarindo. The plunge pool was a hit and the patio lounge area was nice & had shade. We would stay here again! We did go to Pangas for dinner one evening. The setting is beautiful but the food & service was so-so. The views make this property a must-stay…incredible to be perched up on the hillside like that.

Layout and kitchen were perfect as we prepared several meals. Tamarindo is a busy town and the quiet location on the hill was very welcome after a day at the beach.

Hidden Gem

As much as I don’t want to write a review for this property (because we’d love to keep it a secret for ourselves), that wouldn’t be fair! The location is safe and quiet with incredible views, and the physical structure and amenities are pristine. Even great water pressure!! The communication with and information provided by the property management was very comprehensive, relevant, and clear…at least for this mom who plans her family’s vacations, it made me feel more calm and relaxed knowing I had all the info. I needed in one place rather than having to dig through multiple old emails and websites.! PLEASE treat this property with respect that it deserves…it truly is a hidden gem!

Reviewer Comments: The condo is in a great location, close to town - but up a steep hill, so prob good to have a car. It is close to everything, very convenient and in a gated community.The cleaning lady, Wendi, was great and generally RPM was responsive. Feedback (1)the finishes were average. On our second day the dishwasher was not cleaning, and we realized it was in terrible shape and filthy. To their credit it was changed quickly. Towards the end the dishwasher pipe broke, flooding the apartment but again they sent someone over. (2)a negative is you have to send RPM a message everytime you have a visitor, even a cab to pick you up.Then they inform the security. One time a message was missed and we had to walk down at 3AM as they just would not let the taxi through despite us calling them!(3) The pool was not very clean, but RPM said it was another company maintaining it.Overall it was a great location, with average condo. Great views and close to everything. We had a nice four weeks.

Reviewer Comments: Went to the main office in Tamarindo to get a key - it's a keypad entry, so didn't need that - gave me a packet which had some info on it, but had received that already in email. The person who greeted me in the office seemed a little drunk or out of it and did not give us any instructions whatsoever about the location of the condo. There are several condos and we had no idea which one was ours, since they are not numbered. After driving and wandering around the complex for 20-30 minutes someone was able to help us, no one else we asked in that area had any idea. The best thing about the condo is the view - which is highlighted in all of the pictures. The view is fabulous and the pool area is nice. The house amenities and furniture are fine, nothing special. The internet worked great as well. It is up a very steep hill and low clearance vehicle will have some issues navigating it. There is no shampoo/conditioner and the tiny plastic soap situation is kind of pathetic given the amazing potential of this rental. The water never gets hot in any of the showers, upstairs and on main floor. The outdoor shower and foot washer and kitchen sink do get hot, but nothing else. We called the office to ask for help, someone might have come out, but the problem was never resolved. Pangas Beach club at the bottom of the hill was fabulous. The view is the main thing in this place.

Fun Girls Trip!!!

My best friend from highschool and our daughters stayed for a week. We had a blast and loved our stay in your beautiful home!! We loved the short hike to the beach and the are out of this world!!! It was so nice to end the day with a dip in the beautiful infinity pool and grill poolside:-) Needless to say, we will be back!!

Ideal Costa Rica Vacation Spot

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Definitely recommend staying at Las Mareas for a vacation in Tamarindo. The location is just outside of the hustle and bustle of the town center and has an incredible view. Town and the beach is only 5 minutes away, down the hill, and past the guard gate, but you feel like you’re on a private cove. We walked the hill for exercise in the early morning but definitely recommend a car or golf cart to go to/from the house. The home and view looks exactly like the photos. We stopped for groceries at Auto Mercado on the drive in and ate at Pangas Beach club a couple times. Be sure to take a Panga (aka taxi boat) to tour the Estatuary. We also recommend a day trip to Las Catalinas (40 minutes away). It was ideal to end each day on the porch at home to watch the sun go down, but venture down to the beach in front of Pangas for at least one sunset. It’s breathtaking. The only complaint we had were the beds were very firm, but otherwise the house was great for 3 couples. The pool is shared but we always had it to ourselves and the neighbors were really kind.

We could walk to everything in downtown Tamarindo. I would however mention there is a very steep hill to climb when walking. Those with physical disabilities would definitely need a car or golf cart. Also, directions on how to operate oven/cooktop would have been helpful.

Overall good stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall Las Mareas 4 was very nice. Couple minor issues, mostly with the lock on the main door not working properly which was fairly annoying. Also, an odor coming from one of the toilets because it wasn’t sealed properly to the floor and a million little bugs inside the iron where you put the water rendering the iron useless. Hopefully these issues are fixed for the next guests. Still the place is very nice and had all the amenities you would need. Great view and nice bedrooms. Pool area was enjoyable and not overly crowded. Would stay here again but I would be more thorough upon arrival and get the maintenance staff to eh house immediately to repair the issues.

Reviewer Comments: This was our 3rd trip to Tamarindo - we were the first renters at las Mareas and waited too long to book our 2nd trip and ended up staying elsewhere in town. We made a point to book it earlier this trip and are very glad we did! Lola from RPM was FANTASTIC in accommodating our family of 5 with all of our last minute questions. The views here are spectacular - the pool is quiet and peaceful. The walk to the beach is short but steep - which helped us burn the many calories we gained at Panga's (I'd recommend a car if for nothing other than to get up and down the hill!)!! I'm sure we will be back - Tamarindo is a special place with fantastic beaches and a cool surf vibe!

Awesome Villa

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time in Tamarindo. The villa was clean and the pictures are accurate. The view is amazing. My only issue was the steep climb to and from the villa. I didn't realize how hard it would be to climb up and down to get to and from the villa. Definitely plan on renting a car or a golf cart. The store is not very far from the villa but walking to and from the store is a bit dangerous on the side of a buy road with no sidewalks. Taxis are fairly cheap but make sure to ask the price before you get in because sometimes they charge way too much just to take you a short distance. If you have a car or golf cart you will love your stay because being on top the hill is the most beautiful view. one more suggestion- be careful going up and down stairs inside the villa. They are beautiful wooden stairs but they are very slick.
