Nuestro condominio de 2 recámaras, 2 baños y 1,200 pies cuadrados (Unidad 414) en el edificio Village Center ofrece la máxima comodidad en invierno o verano, ya que está ubicado en el corazón de Purgatory Village, a solo unos pasos del ascensor principal de alta velocidad al cima de la montaña, el expreso del purgatorio. Tal como lo indica su homónimo, el Village Center se encuentra en el epicentro de la experiencia del Durango Mountain Resort and Purgatory. No hay mejor ubicación para tus aventuras de invierno o verano.

El condominio está ubicado en un solo nivel en el cuarto piso con ascensor y una terraza para disfrutar de las vistas de la Montaña Spud y la Cordillera de las Agujas, tal vez la más impresionante y hermosa variedad de picos de 14,000 pies en todos los Colorado Rockies. Not impressed

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very unhappy. Needs updating. Beds are terrible. Lights in one bedroom would not work, made complaints, complaints never resolved. Priced too high for condition.

Fantastic Location

You can't beat the location. Take the elevator down to the rental shop, shopping, restaurants and slopes. I particularly liked being able to go down to the rental shop in comfortable clothes and be able to go back upstairs to gear up for the day. We will be back for our ski vacation next year for sure.

We had a nice time, the unit was mostly as described. It was clean, the beds were a little hard, and we had maintenance people in and out of the unit one day that we were not given any notice about but they were nice.

Amazing location

The location for skiing could not be better. Property is in very nice shape. Propertyanagers are first class. Check in and out was super easy. A few touch up items and the property would be first class. Property faces the snow at garage so you do get a symphony of 3am beeping as the cats backup.

Couples get-away

Love the location! Our check-in process went smooth. The condo was just perfect for us! Our group consisted of 4 adults (2couples). There was plenty of room and it was great to ski all day and come rest and or eat lunch and back to skiing. The only complain that we had was the lighting situation in the bedroom— too dim. The lamps help but we would have liked more light. Other than the lighting everything was just as expected!

Great location!

This is a great spot for those that want to have easy access to the slopes, as the lifts are right next to the building. It was the perfect size for us and another couple, but bathrooms could use an update. Only major downside is the one small elevator for the whole building and no access to the stairs. Many times when the elevator would finally stop on our floor it was full, so it would take several rounds before we could get up/down. Overall it was pretty good and we would stay here again because you cannot beat the location!

Great location!!

Great location!! We missed having access to ski lockers. We had an issue with there not being enough bowls and the skillets were old. The property brought us brand new items the next morning! Excellent communication. The place is older, but clean. The only complaint is the bathrooms.....they need a remodel. There was no light inside one of the showers and mold. Overall, I would stay again.

My only complaint is that the sheets on the beds were definitely slept in before us! Thankfully we all had our own pillows at least, but it looked like the beds were made right over dirty sheets. Otherwise, everything I needed was already in the condo and there was plenty of room to spread out.

We were on the 4th floor and the elevator was out the entire time we were there. I’m very thankful we didn’t have any medical emergencies. It sure wasn’t fun lugging all our stuff up there.

No, just no

Maybe if you're only staying a night or two you could deal with this disaster, but this place is just awful. It's not any one thing, it's that the whole thing is just bad in a ton of little ways. As other reviews have mentioned, the beds are terrible. It's like sleeping on concrete, and yes, they put mattress toppers on the beds, but they're still not good at all. In summer, you have to leave the windows open at night, but the resort delivery area is right outside your window, so every day before dawn, we were woken up by the BEEP BEEP of commercial vehicles in reverse. One day that happened at 4:00 AM. The patio was disgusting, one of that chairs was broken, and the view is literally a dumpster. Only 2 of the 4 burners on the stove worked. The fridge, stove and dishwasher were all manufactured in the 80's or earlier, and you're missing basic kitchen necessities. We had to clean every surface in the kitchen and living room when we arrived, there were fingernail clippings on the end-table by the recliner, and the dishes were gross and had to be cleaned by hand (because the dishwasher is useless) before being used. The windows in one bedroom both had broken knobs, so opening/closing was very difficult. One of the toilets also clogs repeatedly under normal usage by a single person. The only positive here was that VRC (property manager) did let us break the reservation and refunded us for half of the rental.

Family fun!

Loved having a washer and dryer to do our clothes. It was in a great location, easy to get to, lots to do here with the kids. We never heard from Keith before or during the trip. I actually had to contact him before we left for directions as we never received an email, that was a bit disappointing. Great condo, just needs some updating with appliances , cookware and furniture, however it was very affordable.

Purgatory - Presidents Weekend 2017

The house is just perfect for a ski weekend. There were plenty of necessary items and also washing detergent. The best part is the location. When you walk out your door, you only have to walk 40 feet to the elevator. Take that elevator to floor 2 and you are 20 feet from the exit to the lift. In other words, you can be at the lift in just a couple minutes. Don't pass on this based on prior reviews, you won't be disappointed.

Perfect location for Purgatory Skiing

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo was overall a great place to stay as a family of 4 for Christmas vacation. There were a couple of things I would offer suggestions on. The condo faces the parking lot which has a very bright security light that is directly outside the master window. The blinds were fine, but I would add some black out curtains for less brightness. Also the shower curtain in the master bathroom was about 6” too short, which allowed water to go everywhere. And finally, the TV’s were only on cable, with no option to stream any Netflix/Hulu. This day and age, I haven’t ever stayed in a rental that didn’t have a smart TV for the renter to log into their accounts. That was a bummer as we didn’t get to watch Christmas football. Again, awesome location, nicely outfitted kitchen, but could stand a few small upgrades.

Excellent location

The best thing about this condo is the location. Excellent access to the slopes and the roof top hot tub is a huge perk. The ability to have wood delivered was fantastic. The condo is very spacious for a family of 4. The negatives - we could not get an adequate temperature in the frig. It kept freezing everything, several outlet plugs are very loose so items wont stay plugged in, both bathrooms need some updates. The jacuzzi tub is very old and completely unreliable. As other reviewers stated the lighting in parts of the condo is challenging at night. The light over the dining table is very tricky to get all bulbs to shine bright. This condo could definitely use some updates but if your focus is skiing and the outdoors the location and easy access to everything can not be beat.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was fantastic, the management company was fantastic.The size of the unit was awesome for a large family. The owners need to give some much needed TLC to the unit. The couches are super old and worn out, you sink down when you sit. The kitchen needs some re-stocking (glasses, pots, pans) and the cabinets are all falling apart. The carpet is pretty stained and the bathroom grout has mold. It was totally fine for our stay, this unit was less than any other unit but I would pay the extra money to stay in a place that didn't have gross blankets and nasty pillow cases from the 80's. Its about time you put some money back into your unit:) Replace the micorwave above the stove don't just put one one in the dining room.

Fun resort for kids and adults!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice location half-way to Silverton from Durango. Nice view out the window. Lots of activities (though cost $$). Fun pool with warm water and very fun slide. (Good thing the water was warm, as the air was often cool due to altitude.) Live music on site. Party-ish atmosphere. The suite itself has seen better days, with worn carpet, trim, etc. The suite seemed to stay overly warm even when it was cool outside. It had a lot of unnecessary bric-a-brac that helped make it easy to lose possessions, and there was a weird thing with the bathroom door barely clearing the toilet, but all appliances and plumbing functioned satisfactorily. The building entrances were not always secured, making me nervous, but the only real problem was that the internet wifi and cell phone coverage left much to be desired. PCs worked okay, but MacBook and iPad users had to go down the hall to get an adequate connection. Similarly, Verizon cell phone users had to go outside the building to get reception.

Unit 414 in Village Center

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Family of three (dad plus 15 year old and 12 year old) rented this 4th floor unit for the Presidents’ Day week for a father-son week of skiing. This is our 3rd year in a row renting a ski-in-ski out from VRC at purgatory. Unfortunately unit 414 was the worst unit by a large margin of the three we have rented at purgatory. The other two experiences (both two bedroom units) were great. The pro’s for 414 are the location, which if you are renting any of the condos near the lifts is great. True ski-in-ski out. The 2/2 units are spacious and have two king sized beds and a fold out sleeper in the living room. The cons for unit 414 was that it was the most tired of any unit we’ve ever rented in purgatory and maybe rented anywhere ever. Most everything in the unit seemed like the absolute lest expensive thing someone could buy. The linens, dishes, cups, appliances (the clothes washer and dryer was good). The kitchen equipment and utensils were past due for replacement. The button of the toaster had to be held to make it toast. The knives were useless (I used a packet knife to cut things) the fridge had broken shelves and drawers. The cabinet doors and drawers were loose and falling off. The shelves were janky and mismatched. The glassware and plates were super tired and the dishwasher wasn’t good enough to make the clean dishes ever look clean. Some of the lights were hanging out of the ceiling, but the worst of it all were the beds. Both beds were like sleeping on box springs. I can’t remember in 20+ years having such uncomfortable bass in a hotel or short term rental. Also the WiFi was externally unreliable and when it did work the signal was weak. This isn’t on the condo owners as the resort manages the IT and based on our inquires, they were having issues. These issues are not the fault of VRC. In fact VRC was very responsive to any question or concerns and we will rent from VRC without a 2nd though

The location is great. You are above the rental shop (remember to do your rentals online beforehand) and the pizza place and just off the main lift. Easy to go in for lunch and take off your boots. The beds are hard and the TVs are outdated which was disappointing since smart TVs are pretty much everywhere. As a result, bring a hook up from your phone or tablet to the TVs if you want to watch a streaming service. The layout is great for a family of 4-6. Two rooms each with a king bed which is great (just wish they were a little more comfortable) and then a living room separates the rooms and has a pull out couch. Kitchen is fine. Small but works. Overall…the location keeps this a 4 but a few upgrades to the beds and TVs would be nice and make it a 5. Hopefully the owners do that soon…but I would probably book again and just deal with beds or look at reviews more closely to find one that is in that same building with better beds. Could easily be a 5 with the tweaks I mentioned.

Perfect location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This location can’t be beat. It was truly ski in and out. So close to the slopes and the village/ shops. The beds were comfortable and the living room set up enjoyable for the family. The negatives were that there was a mixup with my registration and they had double booked me with someone else. Purgatory Resort staff figured it out and were super nice about it. The condo itself needs some TLC. It was highly understocked... 3 rolls of 1 ply TP for 4 people (7 days) was not enough. No trash bags. Coffee maker needed replacing (which by the last day, a new one was sent), almost zero coffee in the condo but fortunately Purgatory Resort provided on my request, all the dishes and the utensils were coated in white buildup from the dishwasher and looked gross but were clean, only a couple dishwashing tabs available and they had gotten wet and were all stuck together, the DRYER DID NOT WORK so we couldn’t dry clothes/gloves after skiing or wash clothes, only 2 pieces of firewood (Purgatory Resort brought more at my request), candles in the condo were fire hazards (when power went out for the whole evening & night, we tried lighting the almost finished candles and the whole candles caught on fire. Luckily I noticed and chose to throw them out so no one else made that mistake and burned the place down!) Overall we were very happy (minus the dryer situation) but it def needs some attention from an owner when you are paying these types of prices to stay.
