¿Está buscando un escape del ajetreo de la vida cotidiana? ¿Por qué no escapar al Wil-ciervo-ness! Esta cabaña aislada enclavada en 2 hectáreas de bosque en una calle privada se encuentra a pocos minutos de las ciudades de West Jefferson y Boone en las montañas de Carolina del Norte. El acceso al Río Nuevo es sólo un corto paseo desde la cabina por un sendero natural. Ir de pesca, poner en sus kayaks o canoas, o simplemente refrescarse en un día caluroso de verano. My wife and I had a fantastic stay at the wil-deer-ness cabin. The property was very well maintained and everything was very clearly laid out for ease of use. Sitting in the hot tub on a cold night was a true delight. If you are looking for a quiet, private cabin this is the place.

The property is very nice close to the Timber Rivers wedding venue, which was perfect for us. We had an issue with the tv and communication with the owners was fast and effective. We were able to unplug the tv and turn it back on without issue. We weren’t able to use the hot tub but it is nice touch for those chilly evenings, as well as the fire pit. The dog treats and smore supplies are a thoughtful touch added by the owners as well. Overall we would definitely stay again!

Our stay at the Wil-deer-ness cabin was such a pleasure. It was nicely tucked away perfectly located for our trip to Grayson Highlands. The spaces both inside and outside were clean, well kept and comfortable. The cabin was stocked with anything you could need including tons of games, movies, blankets, cookware, etc. and it was made to feel like home with little details and decor spread in every room. We really appreciated the personal touches and level on detail put into the instructions, tips and recommendations. We wished so badly that we could have stayed longer but it’s already in the plans to come back again with more of the family. Thank you so much for making our time special with this beautiful space and we can’t wait to be back.

We left our stay one night early because the black mold, dirt, dust, and cobwebs interfered with our stay. We were left with a dirty dish sponge and therefore could not properly clean our dishes so left them neatly by and in the sink(as there is a cleaning fee anyhow), their towels were dirty and musty, there were spiders and cobwebs hanging from the kitchen ceiling and in the window, there was dust on every single blind in the house, there was dust and buildup on the walls and all baseboards. I attempted to reach out to the host before going directly to VRBO or a review and their response was obsurd and even are sending me a bill for 75 because of the dishes and towels hanging and laundry not in the space they asked. They also sent me a photo of my trash I placed in a Walmart bag in the trash can because they did not provide any additional/proper trash bags. There was trash left in the bathroom as well because there was nowhere otherwise to place it. They have no business dealing with the general public or renting a disgusting home where people leave sick.

We visit the North Carolina mountains in the summer and fall to escape the heat and observe the fall foliage. This location should be beautiful in the autumn. We chose this cabin for its location near some of our favorite places and other areas we wanted to explore. It served that purpose well. The cabin was clean, spacious, comfortable, and a welcome retreat after our excursions. The bedroom was large enough to walk around the bed easily. We are outdoor dwellers and especially enjoyed the wrap-around porch living spaces, where we would eat breakfast and play cards. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare a meal. Everything worked, including the appliances, washer/dryer, and TVs, and all came with detailed instructions, so there were no usage hiccups.The bedroom loft with a bathroom served our teenage grandson well. He felt like he had his own space and spared us the hassle of sharing a bathroom with a teenager. DVDs and games abound. We used the cabin's cornhole game. The hot tub was a welcome respite after a long day of hiking.Although we didn't spend a lot of time at the cabin, this is one cabin where you could. It is a lovely location with outdoor features that we did not get to take advantage of. We did not use the outdoor fire pit, but it was nice to know it was there if we return in a different season, and there might even be room for badminton. Also, we did not venture down to the river, which might be worthwhile exploring.

The property owners had thought about everything to the point of providing Bluetooth speakers near the hot tub. Lots of laminated instructions so you knew where everything was. Loves the cute canoes with stuffies on the top beam of the cabin

Cozy little cabin

Me and my husband had a wonderful weekend stay at this cozy cabin. Everything was clean and perfectly labeled so we had no questions on how anything worked. The hot tub was a perfect addition to the stay. We enjoyed the quiet location away from any close neighbors. Was a short distance from West Jefferson where we shopped the stores in town. Will definitely come back again with our kids so they can enjoy all the cabin has to offer

Not sure how to review. Our stay was excellent and we loved the cabin. Has everything you need to enjoy a weekend away. We had already started thinking about returning next year. Then we got home and received an email that we were being fined for leaving dog poop around the property without having permission to have a dog - we do not own a dog, and certainly didn’t have one with us. When I informed the host of this, they then claimed we broke a paper towel holder. We followed all of their check-out directions and left the house the same way we left it; we did not break anything or bring a dog. I’m hoping this is an isolated incident, as the majority of the other reviews are positive. We are normal people who respect the property of others. On a positive note, we enjoyed seeing the deer every morning. A short drive into West Jefferson got us a lovely lunch at Sweet and Savory, which I highly recommend. There is also a beautiful children’s library if you have little ones. Downtown Lansing was hit hard by Helene, but the Molly Chomper Cidery is fantastic. We also recommend the amazing public playground in Blowing Rock.

The perfect tranquil getaway

Our stay superseded any expectations. This property is definitely a hidden gem. The peaceful and secluded location was the perfect escape from my hectic life. The cabin design was more than comfortable and the decor was whimsical yet very tasteful. Stepping out onto the covered wrap around deck was a delight as we saw many deer making their way through the woods. The strategic placing of fun woodland creatures throughout the property made my partner and I laugh (2 different bears, a squirrel and I believe a groundhog?). If it weren't for the extreme cold temps (thermometer outside was reading around 14 degrees during the day and 2 degrees at night), we would have been able to explore a little more around the property. However, the weather made it a perfect excuse to stay warm inside with the fireplace going and a nice glass of wine.The owners, Michael and Donetta, were easy to communicate with to ensure a smooth check in and check out. Small details like providing doggie bowls, baggies and treats were a perfect and thoughtful touch.I highly recommend this cozy wilderness getaway to anyone looking to get away from the everyday grind.

Think of what you want your vacation to be like and make it happen. That's what we did with Wil-deer-ness Cabin. We're always striving to make it the best it can be and are actively involved with our cabin. We manage the cabin completely on our own which means you and the cabin get our personal attention. Many rentals are managed through management companies which have so many properties they can't give the time and attention that's deserved to each property. Those owners might make it to their property once a year, if that. And we all know, no one is going to take pride in and give extra care to a property the way the owner will. That's why we handle everything from advertising, to bookings, to maintenance and follow-up on our own. We don't want to trust someone else to make our cabin great, we want to know it is firsthand. We are there personally at least once a month between guests to make sure everything is in good working order. We listen to our guests. We always ask for feedback after every stay and take your suggestions seriously. We have implemented many guest recommendations over the years which is why our guests return over and over again. We feel vacations should be a time to make family memories, give your relationship an extra spark, and just relax & unwind. At Wil-deer-ness Cabin you can do just that...we take care of everything else!

We are originally from a small mountain town and fell in love with West Jefferson. We wanted to offer a beautiful cabin to others at a reasonable price and great value. When vacationing ourselves, we love our privacy which is the main reason we chose the location we did for Wil-deer-ness Cabin. It's close enough to town for restaurants and activities if you want to venture out. But if you want to be completely surrounded by nature and never leave the cabin your entire stay you'll be perfectly happy here.

We have stayed at vacation rentals in various areas ourselves and learned from those experiences. Like everyone, we hate packing for vacation and almost always leave something behind. At Wil-deer-ness Cabin, we provide all the bedding, linens & paper products so you don't have to worry about them. A hair dryer is provided so that's one less thing to pack. Plan to arrive late but can't survive without your morning coffee? We provide complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate & more so you have some supplies to carry you over until you can make a grocery store run. What about rainy days? A lot of places may have outdoor activities but if you're stuck inside it's boring. Not at Wil-deer-ness Cabin! We have a full game chest, over 100 DVDs in the DVD library, and Roku streaming devices on each TV. You can even enjoy the porch in the rain since it's covered. The porch is also large enough you can set up the provided bean bag toss game on it and still enjoy an outdoor activity even in the rain. A lot of cabins advertise privacy & we deliver it! There's nothing but trees completely surrounding the cabin. When the leaves are on the trees you can't even see the gravel road you entered on in front of the cabin.
