This was our second year in row at Flatrock. This place is perfect for our family and in a great location. We love that it's so private but so close to nearby stores in case we need anything. Charlie is a great host and is always available for questions and provides an amazing survival guide with tons of info. The house is fully stocked with quality everything! We especially love the dishes and pans. Plenty of space for 8 people and the dinner table is perfect for game nights. The brand new dock was awesome. My 83 year old dad still likes to jump in the lake but has trouble with ladders so the new stairs were a great addition. Our kids are teenagers now, but there is a really nice setup upstairs for smaller kids including a super cute bedroom, games, books, and DVDs to watch. It was great to have some floats that were already inflated that we could use. The lake water is so refreshing, clean and the perfect temperature. Great spot for sunsets. Thanks Charlie for a great vacation!

Making Memories

Flatrock was great. This was one of our best vacations. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Charlie was the perfect host providing excellent communication the whole way through with an entertaining sense of humor. He keeps his place clean and well equipped. Water access was great for everyone whether it's the stairs down into sandy entry or diving off the end of the dock. The kids had fun playing pool in the basement. We loved the Sirius XM radio and had it playing all week. The dinner table seats eight comfortably and was great for gamenights. It's a perfect spot half way up the east side of Long Lake, so you get awesome sunsets and views of Mount Washington and being the same distance away from both Naples on the south side and Harrison on the north side made for awesome sunset trips on the boat to get ice cream after dinner. We never really had to leave the house as we had everything we needed to have the most fulfilling vacation and left completely satisfied. Charlie, thank you for making Flatrock available. We'll never forget our time at your wonderful place.

Just what I needed

My family was gathering in Naples, Maine for a reunion and rather than just rent a hotel for the weekend of the reunion, I decided to rent a house on the lake for a week. Flying all the way in from Texas I wasn’t about to just pop in for the weekend. The house was exactly what I was looking for. Even though it was a little farther up the road from Naples than I originally wanted the drive was easy and the location was peaceful and relaxing. The house was prettier in person than the photos on-line. The kitchen was very well stocked (and even had a crock pot) which was great because we stayed in for most meals. I spent lots of time just sitting on the dock with my book while my mom hung out in the sunroom. We even built a fire in the outdoor fire pit. Charlie was super easy to communicate with as well. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Perfect Place To Stay!

The owner was very quick to respond to my inquiries and gave clear instructions for arrival day. The place is absolutely beautiful with high ceilings and amazing views of the lake. There’s a lot of room to hang out with the entire family. There are a ton of board games for your use. The kitchen has a lot of cooking utensils, plates, pots, and pans plus tons of spices. We enjoyed the fire pit and relaxing out on the dock. The sunsets are gorgeous from the dock. The owner provided a very detailed listing of things to do in the area. We had fun swimming, golfing at a local course and having some wonderful meals nearby. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful week long getaway

Every detail was thought of at this beautiful lakeside home. Our family of 5 stayed for a week and enjoyed swimming, boating (we rented a motorboat for 2 days) and having happy hour on the dock. The owner is great and the house has everything you could want in a lake house. Look forward to staying again.

Fabulous stay at Flatrock

We had a wonderful week staying at Flatrock, everything was as advertised and in top notch upkeep and order. Wonderful family vacation and was a fantastic week. Charlie was a very gracious host and very accomodating. We even left some personal belongings behind and Charlie is mailing our belongings to us.

Wonderful Family Destination on Beautiful Long Lake

Our expectations were exceeded with our arrival at this lovely property. Lots of space, well maintained & stocked. Beautiful new large deck and wonderfully clean lake front setting. We thoroughly enjoyed the swimming, even with a few days of rain, we had lots of space for games and quiet spaces for down time. We definitely would recommend it and hope to be back again! Charlie was super easy to communicate with and very accommodating!

Flatrock

Great lakeside property. Lots of room, good applances and kitchenware. We had family and friends staying with us and there was room for everyone. Be advised that one of the upstairs double beds is in the open hallway betwen bedrooms and is a bit less private. A pool table and shiny new washer and drier in the basement were big pluses. Although the weather was rainy, musch of the time, when the sun came out we enjoyed canoeing and swimming off the dock. Great sunsets when weather cooperates!

Great Family Meet Up!

Gorgeous lake views, beautiful home and the amazing convenience of a dock. We met up with family and were able to take our boat out for a few great rides. Charlie has the house well stocked which made traveling with littles so much easier. We would love to come back for longer!

Loved Flatrock

Had a marvelous week at Flatrock. The house was immaculate when we arrived with music playing and windows open and just perfect. The property is beautiful with great access to lake. We have been to Long Lake many times but just loved this place. Charlie was easy to work with and answered all questions in a timely manner. Thank you again

Wonderful stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! An excellent experience with an excellent host! This property is exactly how it is described. Charlie (the owner)is super helpful and communicates well! A must as a place to rent for a vacation at Long Lake! We would definitely rent again at this location.

Wonderful and relaxing

Our stay at Flatrock was great. We have been to the area numerous times over the past years and this was by far the best. The house and location were amazing. The sunsets near Mt. Washington were spectacular. The house was spacious and clean. Enough room for 6 of us.

Wonderful vacation!

We had a fantastic and very relaxing week at this beautiful home! We all had a blast fishing off the dock, as well as being able to jump in the water right off the end of dock! The property has multiple areas, both inside and out, to sit and relax, which made the home very comfortable. The home's location is perfect for gorgeous sunsets over the lake, and it's located on a very quiet area of the lake. The only night "noise" was from the loons! We cooked frequently during our week here, and between the well stocked kitchen pots/pans/cooking tools and the grill, we had everything we needed. Charlie was a pleasure to work with, and quickly responded to any and all questions I had. It's very apparent that he take pride in his home, and cares about ensuring a good visit. The listing and all communication very accurately represented his home, as do everyone else's positive reviews.

Lovely home for 2 families. Excellent weather, the dock and lake couldn't have been more perfect for floating and watching kids jump for hours. Very peaceful and quiet. House was clean, enjoyed eating supper out on the deck in the evenings.

Nice house, easy check in, great location

We were here with brothers, sister.s and our spouses, we had plenty of room, the weather wasn't very good, but we were not crowded at all inside. Only negative was the house is in a real need of a deep cleaning. My wife the insomniac spent one night washing down all the cupboard doors and wood work in the kitchen, All the woodwork and walls need to be washed down and the spiders webs vacuumed out between the windows and screens. Overall though the place is really nice.

We loved Flatrock!

This property was perfect for us. The house is very spacious and there was plenty of room for 8 people. Lots of seating and the beds were super comfortable. The best part of the house were the views. You can see the lake from pretty much all rooms in the house. There is a short walk to the lake which is all shaded with beautiful trees. We loved the tire swing too. Our kids loved jumping off the dock and it was a great swimming area. From the dock, you can see Shawnee Peak and Mt. Washington, it’s an incredible sight. The sunsets were fantastic. We were very happy with this stay and would absolutely recommend Flatrock.

Best views on the lake

The views from the dock are some of the best you'll find period. Sunsets are breathtaking with the sun setting right over Mt Washington this time of year. Charlie is a great host. He was very responsive to questions before and during our stay. The house has an open floor plan with a 2story great room overlooking the lake open to dining and a kitchen with everything you'll need. It was very comfortable and allowed our 2 family party to be together even if some were eating, cooking or just lounging. The pine beams and ceilings set the mood and remind you you're at the lake - it's time to relax! We had a couple of days of downtime due to rain and it was nice that the house has plenty of games and a pool table too. Already looking forward to booking flat rock again for our next trip to Long Lake!

Beautiful Lakeside Retreat in Maine

Pristine home on a beautiful lake with private dock. Perfect family getaway. Property exactly as described. Gorgeous lake and mountain views. Can't wait to go back.
