The above is a completely erroneous and malicious review. In the nearly two years that I have been a host with VRBO, it has been an absolute pleasure to welcome so many wonderful travelers into my home. I have never had an issues with any of my guests, and I have only received stellar reviews and praise, for both my house and myself, as a host. The guests in question arrived at my house mid-afternoon during an unusual heat wave, on one of the hottest days of the summer. They immediately telephoned to tell me how incredibly beautiful they found my house. They said they had already taken several photographs of my property as inspiration for their own home, which they were currently in the process of building. They also informed me that they found the temperature in my house to be very warm, and it was for this reason that they would be vacating the property and cancelling their reservation immediately. They said they had already made up their minds to abandon their commitment with me prior to telephoning me, and that they were in no way interested in anything I might say to remedy the situation. Consequently, any attempt I made to fix things was immediately nullified. When I offered more fans and a an air conditioner, they emphatically stated that they were not interested in listening to me. They then informed me that they would be contacting their lawyer to file a claim against me, repeatedly stating “this is how we do business.” Finally, when they vacated the premise, in what I can only interpret as a malicious gesture, they left all the house doors, windows and gates opened and vulnerable on their way out. It now seems clear to me that they never intended to stay at my house from the outset. Clearly, they already had secured other housing arrangements They were merely looking for any excuse to back out of their commitment, once they had access and photographed my home, and chose intimidation tactics to press their point. I strongly warn any homeowner against hosting them.
