Escondido en la exclusiva zona de Anse Chastanet / Jade Mountain de Soufriere, la villa La Batterie ofrece total privacidad. Encontrará su escapada en esta villa de lujo rodeada de exuberantes jardines, una piscina tropical con cabaña, estanque de lirios y amplias terrazas. Stunning views and wonderful service

My wife and I stayed here in July of 2023. It's a wonderful property. The views are even more amazing than the pictures show. With all of the staff available, it's like staying at a 5 star resort dedicated to just you. Stephanie cooking amazing meals and scheduling massages. Clavie driving you where ever you need to go. Bibi cleaning every day. Terry roasting coffee and BK watching over the property at night. All wonderful and very accommodating. We did walk down the hill to Anse Chastanet to enjoy the beach. We ran into Simon from Simon Says tours and did ziplining, the volcano mud baths and snorkeling through him, which was a great experience as well. Could we have done it all ourselves, yes. But Simon and Simon Jr were great tour guides. We would love to visit this property during the winter time and enjoy a cooler climate. Summertime can be a bit warmish, but there are plenty of fans to help keep you cool. I doubt you can find a nicer rental experience on St Lucia. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Return Trip-Living in a Postcard!

We stayed in this home for our 25th anniversary & again for our 51st! So many great memories from the past & wonderful new ones from this visit. The location & surroundings are awesome! The staff was friendly & knowledgeable-we looked forward to seeing them each day. They made our stay very pleasant & seamless. Food was great & fresh-thank you Stephanie! Beds were comfortable & well made each day- thank you Bibi! It was wonderful to wake up to the Pitons each morning & to sit on the deck at night to see the stars highlighting the shadows of the Pitons. We swam in the well maintained pool twice each day. Afternoons we could be found on the deck or in the hammock for a nap. So much to see & do in the area-Clavie’s taxi service was available & treated us well. We won’t forget our Fantastic return visit!

Dream Come True

This was truly a dream come true vacation for our family. My husband and I had been to St Lucia many years ago and wanted to return to share its beauty with our family. This spectacular villa provided the perfect opportunity. The views of the Pitons are stunning, and the home and grounds are just beautiful. We also really appreciated the staff at La Batterie. They were warm and welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful, never obtrusive, always professional. Our family enjoyed Stephanie and Bibi's delicious meals, Terry’s coffee and rain forest hike, diving, snorkeling, birding and other fun tours Clavie took us to on the island. Mike and Jennifer also did an excellent job providing information and answering all our questions in advance of the trip. We are truly grateful for the wonderful time we shared here and we all hope to return one day!

Amazing View with the most amazing staff.

The view and home is even better than pictured, it's a dream destination with award winning beaches close by for snorkeling/diving and beach bars, a wonderful pool for the afternoon heat and great rooms with their own bathrooms.The Cabana is a great addition...so beautiful! We shopped in the capital city, zipline'd, Botanical garden & mineral bath, enjoyed breakfast one day at Hotel Chocolat, Visited Sugar Beach and ate a fancy dinner at Caille Blanc Villa Hotel (Next door) and yet, nothing compares to this private home & staff. This is our 2nd time staying and it was great to re-connect with the house staff, they are as impressive as this view. We absolutely love Stephanie & BB, who everyday kept the rooms so clean & cooked the best food on the island!!! plus Terry the gardner has worked for this family for over 40 years, grows & roast his own coffee and such a joy to talk to. We drive in lots of other countries but NOT here. You really need 4 wheel drive and more extensive knowledge of the area and streets, So this house has a driver to pay as taxi service, Clavie who we just loved his services and he is way more skilled to drive these roads. It is always hard to say goodbye to the staff, so we say "We will see you again". Thank you Michael for allowing this amazing home to be rented and taking such great care of your staff who just made us all feel so welcome & Thank you for the Champagne to celebrate my Sister & Brother-in Laws 50th Anniversary, this trip was absolutely a dream trip for them with lots of fun photos & videos to cherish for years.

Amazing views are worth it!!!

We were a group of 6 celebrating a 50th birthday milestone. Property was big enough for us to each find our own corners to relax, and morning and night we were repeatedly consumed by the views—esp from master bedroom. The staff was attentive and easy to work with. There were US and G plugs in bathrooms, ample closet spaces and despite the open concept felt that each room still had privacy. Order coffee from the gardener! Def recommend.

Piton Paradise

Where to begin on this absolutely Stunning Paradise? We booked Christmas week about a year ago, and it was the best vacation ever. Once we stepped through the Villa's front gate and walked across the yard to the Villa, we were captivated from the unbelievable view of the Pitons and the sea. The décor and inside amenities of the Villa were perfect. We loved that there are no glass windows in the Villa, anywhere. All open to the warm beautiful trade winds and the sounds of the rainforest and birds below. The beds and bedrooms were perfect, each with their own bathrooms. We loved the inside/outside feel of walking to our rooms at night while the misting warm rain was falling. The Staff - Stephanie and BiBi ran the house, and it was absolutely perfect. Stephanie and the meals she made were spectacular! BiBi and her attention to detail was superb! I coordinated with Stephanie and she shopped for our meals, and made what we wanted. But after tasting her meals, we stepped back and she planned our meals. I decided to cook a Beef Tenderloin for our Christmas meal, and she arranged for it, and it was delivered to our Villa. Whatever we wanted, it happened. Thank You Stephanie. Terry the groundskeeper was wonderful, and gave me a special tour of the Villa grounds and its flora. But most of all, the history of the Villa was wonderful! Especially since Terry has been employed by the family for over 40 years... Each evening, BK made himself know that he arrived. It was nice knowing that BK was on grounds if needed. We never saw him, it wasn't obtrusive, it was just a nice feeling. Believe me, the security of the Villa was impressive with the wall and gates, and built on the hillside, only way in is with wings! And of course, Clavie (the Mayor of Soufriere!) was the best. We always rent a car, wherever in the world we are, because I like driving in foreign countries. And we can go anywhere we want. But, this time, we let Clavie do the driving. He was so informative with all the history of the island and the area. He knows everybody, and everybody knows him! It truly was a pleasure being around him, and our security was his priority! Thank You Mike and Jennifer for sharing your piece of paradise with us. There was so much that we didn't see! We spent a lot of our time, swimming, drinking and eating! The Villa is so comfortable, that we didn't want to leave! La Batterie was exactly where we needed to be, to say goodbye to 2022 Brad & Troy

Location, Location, Location and a Great Staff

The villa is situated high up on a steep slope with an unsurpassed view of the Pitons. It also means that walking anywhere is only for those whose fitness levels are above average. There were many nice surprises. Stephanie's cooking was top notch, and she prepared something different for us on five nights. It was plenty of food for our adult family of five, and we even had some leftovers. The electric outlets are both US & UK style. The salt water pool with its water lounging area is great. There were plenty of lounge chairs and an umbrella, but be sure to lay a towel down on the chair first because they get very hot when exposed to the sun. It is a 15 minute walk (0.6 miles) to the beach at Anse Chastanet where you will find great snorkeling. Terry is a gem, and he taught us so much about the local flora. He will roast St. Lucian coffee for you and take you on a 3 hour hike to the rain forest. The owners of the rain forest property, Grand Eden Estate, allow Terry to bring visitors for a fee. It's a moderately difficult hike mostly because of the steep stairs and muddy conditions. The views are great, and Terry was the perfect guide. Stephanie arranged several tours for our family, but the highlight was Teddy & Graham (I am not making that up) from Sugar Boat Tours bringing us on a 7 hour speed boat tour of the island. It was pricey, but we all agreed that it was the best day we had as a family. The downside surprises were mostly because of our expectations. There is no air conditioning, and we had no breeze during our visit, so it was uncomfortably hot for us. A cool shower before bed helped a lot. The villa's louvered doors don't have screens, so if you keep the lights on in the evening (after 6:30), the bugs will let you know the error of your ways! The one thing we really wished we had known beforehand was the amount of cash to bring. This is a mostly cash area with the exception of some of the tourist excursions. We found that EC$ were more beneficial that US$. Taxis are all paid in cash, and the prices were inconsistent for the same trip. Damien was an excellent driver, navigating the treacherous roads with ease and offering advice during our visit. If the driver needs to stay and wait for you, that is also part of the fare. To avoid running out of cash, plan on $300.00 US per day for groceries/dinner at the villa & taxi rides for 5 people. We felt safe and welcomed at La Batterie Villa and hope to return.

Incredible!

To say our stay was incredible is an understatement. We were a group of 3 couples so the layout of the property was perfect for our needs. It's hard to say much more than what others have already stated... views were outstanding, property was accurately depicted in the listing but the staff is what makes the experience over the top. We were initially a little leery of having onsite staff but this quickly went away as every one of them were amazing. Stephanie was a joy to be around and as others mentioned is great cook! We all agreed her food was miles better than any of the (very expensive) restaurants in the area. Bibi was always in the background keeping everything nice and tidy. Terry was always fun to joke around with and BK was right on time every night. Most evening we invited him in to make a plate and hang out with us for a few minutes. Clavie was always a few minutes early to pick us up wherever we were going and his pricing was less than I would expect for a group of 6. Some have mentioned walking down to the beach, we all had Clavie drive us down and back up as it was only a couple bucks each. All in all, this was one of the best experiences and we wouldn't hesitate to do it all again! 5 stars all the way around!

Unforgettable holiday at a spectacular villa with amazing staff

I can't describe how impressed we were both with the property but really, with the amazing staff at La Batterie. The property has been family owned for several decades and most of the staff have been with the house and this family for many years (one even remembering the current owner when he was a toddler)! You instantly realise that you have been welcomed by a group of people who love and care for the owner and for the property as they would their own family - and they welcome you into this atmosphere when you arrive. They are attentive (often anticipating and arranging things - from stocking of the fridge on arrival to booking relevant covid tests for guest and arranging drivers) and yet at times you are not even aware they are there. This was one of the most beautiful properties we have stayed and one of the most relaxing of holidays taken. I cannot recommend La Batterie, the owner and the staff enough.

Best Family Vaca Ever

My husband and our 14-yr old twins spent a week at La Batterie and there not enough wonderful things we could say about our experience. The property was amazingly beautiful! The staff was so kind that we felt like they were part of our family by the time we left. In summary, a month later, our week at La Batterie Villa was like a dream:-). We would recommend this property to anyone!

Paradise!

Our stay at La Batterie Villa was perfect! The photos on VRBO do not do it justice! The view never got old and was such a wonderful thing to wake up to every morning and enjoy throughout the day! Stephanie, the property manager, was able to schedule all of our excursions and activities and she is a fantastic chef. Terry, the gardener, brought us on an amazing rainforest tour and knew so much about the plants and animals. He also makes the most wonderful coffee and even showed my husband the process of roasting the beans. Miss Bibi was the sweetest and always making sure we were comfortable and having a wonderful trip! The house was so clean and prepared very well for our arrival. Each day Stephanie would get us any groceries from town that we needed. The pool in the back was a wonderful way to cool off at the end of the day or after hiking back up the hill from the beach! The restaurant at anse chasanet and Anse mamin beaches were wonderful. We also loved the small Pavillion restaurant at Caille Blanc right next door!! They staff there was wonderful and it was so convenient. We also hiked Gros Piton, took a boat tour and toured the sulfur spring and waterfall. I recommend them all. Finally, I can’t say enough about Clavie’s taxi service. They were always available for our tours and dinners out. Damion was an amazing driver and taught us so much about the island!! We really enjoyed having him as our tour guide around St. Lucia. It was a wonderful trip!!!!! Thank you to Michael and Jennifer for wonderful planning and assistance in getting us there and their wonderful hospitality!

Open Air, Grand Views, Exceptional Service

(our second stay) From the first step onto the property... we were welcomed by staff, amenities and ridiculous views. Attention to detail everywhere... the grounds with pool, terraces, hammocks, rain forest rich landscapes and wandering paths were unforgettable. The house was interesting and unique with impressive architecture. The balcony overlooking the pitons was so special for magical sunsets. The staff was second to none. With Beebee quietly making every corner immaculate, Stephanie's fabulous creole cooking and wonderful laugh, Terry's quiet care of the grounds and roasted coffees.... and the special watchful eye of BK at night... we can't believe how blessed we were to be part of this world. We will miss them all dearly... We thank them all for their generous care. Mike and Jen... you too were so easy to work with as owners/hosts. Navigating through covid protocol was made doable by you! Remarkable Experience!

Our entire trip was amazing! The property is beautiful and the entire staff treated us like family. We had such an incredible experience in St Lucia and cannot wait to go back! Stephanie's cooking was incredible, we only went out to eat one time while we were there and the food did not even come close to what we had back at the villa. We 100% recommend the hike with Terry if you can fit it into your schedule, it was such a beautiful start to our day and Terry was wonderful company. Everything about our trip was perfect and we would love to be able to return to La Batterie soon!

Everywhere you look from the Villa there are amazing views from the Pitons, to the reef right below, to the beautiful garden meticulously maintained by Terry! We really enjoyed our time! The staff was fabulous and took great care of us and we always felt safe traveling with Clavie and at night with BK! Stephanie kept us well fed with delicious food and Bibi kept the place spotless. Epic trip and we will definitely be back!

Fabulous Villa

This property has it all - from a private pool and gardens to stunning views to wonderful staff who can help with whatever you need. It was fantastic to be able to get up in the morning, open all the doors and just take in the view with coffee. The driver who assists with transportation is truly an expert in navigating the roads and is also helpful with planning outings. The house manager can cook meals for the group for a small fee. And she is a true gem. We loved her food. We would highly recommend the place.

Wonderful holiday

The views from this property were unbelievable and even better than the photos in real life. Stephanie, Clavie, Terry and the team were so welcoming. The pool was beautiful and all the little touches made for an amazing holiday- it’s got a real home from home feel rather than a holiday villa. There’s no air conditioning as it’s very much outside living, but loads of fans so I slept well. We got quite badly bitten from the mosquitoes though so take lots of repellent! But there are nets and they light coils and it was the rainforest so to be expected! Such a stunning area to explore and lots of advice from Clavie, who seems to know everyone in Soufriere! A fabulous holiday- thank you so much

Absolutely Amazing!

La Batterie Villa is absolutely amazing in every way! Definitely a 10 out of 10!! The location and views are stunning! Thank you Michael and Jennifer for sharing your beautiful home. My husband, our two children, a friend and I traveled to St. Lucia over the Easter holiday. Michael & Jennifer were very responsive to all of our questions and concerns. The staff at the Villa are wonderful and welcoming! They make you feel like you are on a resort, but with much more privacy. Stephanie is an amazing cook and concierge! She helped us schedule all of our excursions and even helped with dinner reservations at Hotel Chocolate the one time we decided to eat out! She and Bibi were so sweet and took care of all of our needs. Terry is wonderful to talk to and is a terrific rain forest guide. BK is awesome too! They all made us feel right at home! Thanks to Clavie our personal taxi, we were able to experience St. Lucia with a locals perspective. We were able to visit the nearby beach at the Paradise Hotel. Murphy and his staff are top notch! Mystic Man tours is also a must. We spent an amazing day on a 45' catamaran, snorkeling, swimming and had lunch in Marigot Bay. Our captain Travis and Thomas took very good care of us all. We had such a wonderful relaxing time and can not wait to return!

Great Stay with Great People

We took the chance of booking this back September, before the surge of COVID started. We had to jump through some hoops to just get allowed to make it to the island (Negative Test required,registration of villa,pre-authorization to travel, etc.and all in writing-no electronic copies allowed). We were nervous of the arrival and what might happen. Nothing to worry about! St. Lucia has it down and felt like we were safer there than here in the US. Temperature check before we even went through immigration. The Villa needs to pass stringent tests administered by the government before allowing people to stay-If they fail they will lose their ability to host. Masks everywhere in the south part of the island. When we arrive at La Batterie, we were greeted by Stephanie,(the 'aunt' I didn't know I had in St. Lucia), who took our temperature wearing a mask and never took it off in the 6 days we were there! She also took our temperature and logged it twice more during our stay and logged it.She was our cook,cruise director,helper! If you like exploring and playing it by ear, stay home until this passes as you need to be escorted in general.But if you can plan a little, the Island and La Batterie showed us what hospitality and caring about each other is all about. We booked 2 activities every day-Catamaran along the coast, horseback riding in the mountains and beach,ATV through the "Dungeon",mud baths,hikes to a waterfall,ziplining and national parks.Everywhere we went,masks were worn by the guides at all times...handwashing stations are prevalent everywhere and in fact they demand you sanitize before you even interact with anyone. Even on the hikes through the forest, you are met with a mask,hand sanitizer and a temperature check. The staff at the Batterie was kind, considerate, attentive, and full of advice and help. Bibi, TK, Steven helped us feel safe and comfortable and were amazing!Clavie, our driver was the bonus we didn't expect.Initially we rented a car, but that isn't allowed as you need to be escorted.Clavie drove us everywhere we wanted to go, including a 4 hour roundtrip drive to the north part of the island for our zipline and other activities and always checking on my kids to ensure we were happy. He's additional,but price is very fair. He was one of 5 people that helped make our stay completely memorable. All day breezes make no air conditioning a non-issue but bedroom units would make it 7-STAR. This home has it all. Stop looking!
