We can’t say enough positive things about this amazing property: fantastic house that comfortably housed our group of 10, great location with an easy walk to downtown Suttons Bay. The house is well equipped with everything needed for your stay - beautiful working kitchen, plenty of linens and comfortable beds. Owner is super responsive to requests and eager to make it an awesome stay. Can’t recommend enough, and already planning our stay next year!

This home was impeccably clean, comfortable, and spacious. The deck was perfect for quiet mornings and for family dinners. The location is just perfect – a short walk to Suttons Bay and a short drive to nearby beaches.

Our daughter had a destination wedding and we needed a place in Suttons Bay for our family to stay. This place worked out great for everyone for all of us.

Fantastic stay in Suttons Bay

Beautiful property tucked away with a 5 minute walk to downtown SB. The house is magnificent, with all the amenities needed for a trip away from home. The owner Chris was attentive and eager to do whatever was needed to make it a great stay. We’ve stayed at several properties in SB, and this is the nicest!

Quiet location

House and property were magnificent tucked away in a wooded hill side. 5 minutes to town with many wonderful shops, places to eat, and access to the bay. It was perfect.

Fantastic location

Absolutely great location with an easy walk to town and the beach. House is large with plenty of room for our group of 14. We ate most meals on the large deck amongst the large pine trees. Lots for families to do in the area, not to mention the plethora of wineries and distilleries for the adults.

Wonderful Family Vacation

We had a fantastic stay in Sutton's Bay. The house was perfect to accommodate our needs and allowed for great togetherness but also spacious enough that everyone had their own space and privacy. We look forward to staying at this house again next year. Thank you Chris.

Family fun

This is my family’s second stay here and it did not disappoint. One of my favorite spaces is the deck. It’s so beautiful and peaceful, So much room for my whole family to hang out. The location is perfect. Walkable to town and the beach. We will definitely book again!

Even better than it looks!!!

Our family loved every minute of our vaca in northern MI~this beautiful home was PERFECT for us, and our host immediately addressed a couple of minor issues we had. The deck was incredible, and we loved the fire pit for s’mores making! House is located just an easy walk away from the village & the beach. We were very happy with our home away from home!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Up-North Retreat! The host was very communicative and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The location is ideal for exploring both Suttons Bay and nearby communities, and as a central location to venture north, south, and west. Less than an hour to Sleeping Bear Dunes (a must-see), among other up north attractions. The house itself is beautiful (pictures don't do it justice) and the large decks and fenced-in backyard were a highlight for humans and dogs alike! We hope to come back very soon.

Wonderful Stay in Suttons Bay

The house (inside and outside) was spacious, in wonderful shape and it was perfect for our growing family. The adults and kids loved it. It's in a quiet, beautifully wooded neighborhood. You have a five minute walk to downtown Suttons Bay and the public beach. Chris is a great property manager and was on top of everything throughout the entire rental process.

Our Sutton’s Bay Happy Place

Our 3rd consecutive year at School Hill. We absolutely love it. It fits our family beautifully. Every room is so comfortable and well furnished. Kitchen has everything needed for a perfect vacation. Grounds are wooded with 3 decks for relaxing. Could not be better for a family and their fur babies! We hope to return next year.

Perfect Home for a Large Family

We found this home to be located in a wonderful and secluded wooded setting, offering the quite we were looking for. The home it self was clean and well maintained. The house was also well equipped with and we lacked for nothing. An added bonus was modern 18 speed bikes which we took advantage of with the great trails around. We would rent here again in a heartbeat!

Great house. Close to everything.

Quiet neighborhood a few blocks from downtown Suttons Bay. Chris was easy to reach. I had some confusion about house access and he responded right away. The location made easy access to TC and Leland. There were 5 of us so having our own rooms was nice. Would certainly recommend!

Wedding Weekend

The house was incredible. Very clean house. Comfortable. The dogs loved the backyard, couldn’t get them to come inside. We were able to use the fire pit one night. It was very nice. Nothing negative to say about this house

The house, the town - perfect for our summer reunion

Chris' house in Suttons Bay was absolutely perfect for our multi-generational family reunion. There was plenty of space in the house for gathering and together time, and room to spare for anyone who needed some quiet too. The photos truly do not do it justice. Just as perfect is the house location, nestled in a quiet cul de sac but still a short walk from the heart of Suttons Bay - the beach, fishing pier, Leelanau Trail access, shopping and eating - an nice stroll for all of our family. It was also very easy to drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City - so much to see and do in this beautiful corner of Michigan, it would be a joy to return.

Our family has called this home for decades. We built it in the late 1990s, and we've thoughtfully updated it over the years while preserving what makes it special. We spend our summers in nearby Empire working on our family's cherry farm, and we're excited to share one of our favorite places in Northern Michigan with others.
