We're Lindsay, Adam, Penny, David and Ringo. Lindsay is a fifth generation New Orleanian, and Penny and David are sixth generation. Lindsay started The Okra Inn in 2014 and now it's a family business, hosting group stays and individual guests at two locations in Mid-City, New Orleans.

Mid City is the heart of the city! Hop on the streetcar, which is visible from the front porch, and enjoy a short, quaint ride (for $1.25) to the French Quarter anytime, day or night. As well as the Quarter, Mid-City is a good spot to access the rest of New Orleans' memorable neighborhoods such as Uptown, Treme, and the Lakefront.

The Okra Inn is a historic camelback cottage in the vibrant Mid City area, within sight of the Canal Streetcar line. The Inn features 11 foot ceilings throughout, original pocket doors, beautiful crown molding, two living rooms, two dining rooms, three and a half bathrooms, a front porch, back balcony, back patio and our own blend of artsy charm. The house contains two kitchens stocked with cooking basics.

The decor strives to be a cozy, funky version of classic New Orleans, with kitsch alongside original art, elegance alongside a feeling of homey comfort. We want the house to be clean and pleasant, but without a sense that guests should be afraid to touch anything.

We strive to be pet-friendly, though we ask that you inquire before booking if you are planning to bring pets.
