The pictures on Vrbo are beautiful, and in person as well. Close to everything and within walking distance. Trolley passes helped get us around other places. Enjoyed staying there. Owner very attentive to our messages. We enjoyed our stay. Would recommend whenever possible. Fireworks on Friday, we saw outside on the lanai with nothing blocking view.

Perfect for my family of three

My family and I had a great stay. We arrived on a Thursday and left on Wednesday. The owner was in communication days before we left and when we arrived. His directions made it super easy to find our room and entry was a breeze. The two bedrooms and two bathrooms made for a very comfortable stay. There is a true wall for the master room and the second room has a true wall as well, but there is a small gap where the wall meets the patio door. Room was still quiet for my sleeping teen. The kitchen was equipped with utensils but nothing extra which was fine for us because we ate out for every meal, or we ate out leftovers. There were beach towels in the bathroom and some beach supplies on the lanai. The view from the lanai was awesome! You can easily see the lagoon and ocean from the 13th floor. We came to tour colleges and if my daughter decides this is the place for her, we will definitely stay again.

Good & issues

Love location & view. Good beds, plenty dishes and appliances. One of bathroom floors not that clean. Safe not working, remote to one air conditionerDid not work, tv in room with two beds had no internet connection, clock needs batteries, and freezer door needs adjustment as makes hard to shut refrigerator door.

The worst rental experience that I have ever had.

The property is fine enough -- much smaller than the pictures let on, but decent enough for a very basic situation. The bedrooms/beds are falsely advertised. The second bedroom, which was expected to have a double and a queen had a single bed instead of a queen. Upon notifying the owner and other people involved in hosting about the issue with the posting versus what was present, I was threatened and harassed by the owner multiple times a day. The owner insists the single/twin bed is a queen size bed. The owner is unreasonable and tried to extort money from me as a result of notifying him that the expected queen bed was instead a twin sized bed. While i followed every single house rule and every agreement in the contract, the owner is knowingly falsifying information. I had to get VRBO involved to have them stop harassing me multiple times a day. The overall property is dated - often at least one of the elevators is not working so you may wait up to 10 minutes for the lift. No water fountains or water refilling stations are available in the property. The kitchen is minimally outfitted. The bathrooms need serious updating The property is so-so but the owner and other people involved in the hosting process are terrible. If you raise an issue be ready to be harassed via text message and through VRBO's messaging platform. Also be prepared to have the owner try to extort money from you or have "property inspectors" enter the property during your stay. Beware.

Very nice property

Unit was very nice and had a great view. Well stocked with pretty much anything you need. Could use some maintenance. Several lights did not work. Refrigerator/freezer handles modified and hit when closing either one.

Great Location

Hosts were quick to respond. First glance - nice place. Soon, we realized how dirty it was. Cleaning service is doing a very poor job. Built up dust in many areas. This place needs a good Spring Cleaning in every room and on the balcony. We never cooked there because there were bugs in the kitchen drawers and sink and countertops (and in the bathrooms). The second bedroom is awkward (no place to put luggage, no surfaces to put things, need suitcase holders or a dresser, plug ins were in odd places). Shower handle is loose and hard to use. Would be nice if they provided a start up kit with coffee and creamers, etc. They had a few small shampoos but no conditioner and only 2 rolls of TP. The main bedroom was big and had a dresser and closet. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom has a very high bathtub (apparently a Japanese soaker tub). It was very difficult to get in and out of. There were light switches that had no function that we could see. We messaged the Hosts to make suggestions to improve this place. They said they were getting new cleaners but never addressed anything else. We asked for face clothes as they only provided one per person and only 1 hand towel for each bathroom (not enough for a nine day stay). It took 3 days to get them. The view from the balcony (13th floor) is wonderful, overlooking the Lagoon and Ocean. You can see the Friday night Fireworks from the balcony. We watched the sunsets at the nearby marina water’s edge or the Ilikai patio.

2 weeks in paradise.

Started off with only 1 of 5 elevators working. This wasvq problem throughout our 2 week stay. They had to bring in portable generators to run the elevators. Most of the time only 2 or 3 elevators were up and running. There were huge lines of people trying to get to their rooms. Our unit needs updating, and we were surprised to see roaches in the unit everyday, despite us spraying and leaving all of our food in the refrigerator. All said, our stay was a 3 out of 5. This was the 3rd Island we visited and my least favorite.

Hotel has major problems

We have stayed at the Ilikai many times in the past with good experiences. This time was a disaster! The elevators had major problems 7 out of the 10 days we were there. One day we were completely trapped in our room. The pool was closed for 3 days! The first floor restaurant was also closed. As far as the room goes, it was kind of dirty. One of the toilets leaked from the bottom. We used the other one. Next time if i need another bedroom I would just book another room. It was too expensive for what you get.

great locations, but avoid this condo.

We booked here for the location which was the ONLY good thing about it. It was dirty/grimy/filthy. We had to run all of the dishes through the dishwasher before we could use any as there was a layer of greasy substance on all the dishes. The couch was not usable- had boards that moved if we sat down and the cover was filthy. We sat on the dining chairs and counter chairs. The wifi was unreliable- the landlord referred me to housekeeping who said it was a building issue and he would call back later. I reset the modem and was shocked at the set up and the electrical tangle of exposed cords/wire. ended up using hot spot on my cell. The drain in the shower was slow and backed up every time it was used. Clearly a known issue as there was a large bottle of Drain-o in the cabinet. I wore my water shoes in the shower due to grime. The check in process was difficult. I was traveling between many places in the days prior to my stay. The owner sent an email from outside of the VRBO system with an alternate rental agreement that had the door code and other instructions on it. Then he sent multiple emails asking if I had received it and to respond. I had difficulty locating that email and after several emails he sent me one that said he would not communicate with me any longer. It was very stressful and thankfully I finally was able to locate the original email. Rent elsewhere if you are able.

Enjoyable Location

The property was clean, well equipped and met all our needs. It is a fantastic location for the Friday evening firework display, next to marina for fishing and whale watching trips and the lagoon for children. The Ilikai has a more relaxing atmosphere than the Hilton next door.

DIRTY AND RUN DOWN

READ THIS AND ALL REVIEWS SO YOU DON’T END UP AT THIS DUMP! View and location are great! New floors have been installed. That’s about it! Someone else mentioned this was equivocal to Motel 6; I disagree 100%. Motel 6 is way better and much cleaner. Furnishings were old, mismatched, dirty and gross! The furnishings pretty much look like they were picked up in an alley. The couch, with cushions that don’t fit it, has a filthy slip cover on it with a very suspicious stain. My young adult daughter commented in disgust and jest, that she was afraid to sit on the couch for fear of getting pregnant from this gross stain. The lamps were mismatched, dirty, and some were stained. Gross and ultra tacky. The owner/manager said that this place had been deep cleaned. That may have been possible, but it certainly has not been deep cleaned in the last decade. Under the bed did not show any dust biuldup, however behind the doors and in corners were filthy. The twin bed did not have sheets. The owner/manger sent a message before we checked in about not using the microwave and coffee pot at the same time. This is obviously a problem he is aware of, and since it is an electrical situation, it should be taken care of. As far as the kitchen goes, it just felt grimy and we did not want to cook there. Also, I was sent the message that the shower can back up; clearly this is a problem he knows about and is not taking care of. It’s unsanitary and gross. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT STAY HERE!

The unit was more then I expexcted. Our family travels often and we like trying off brand resorts. This unit was one of the better places we have stayed. Loved the layout and amenities. Motel 6 of VRBOS

1. Parking was $50 a DAY and owner made it seem like parking was included until we arrived since I asked prior. 2. There was NO CUTTING BOARD and all kitchen equipment was so cheap. There was not even enough plates or cups for the number of people. 3. The shower in the master is obviously not included with a picture because it is a death trap with a 4ft tub included. My 74 year old father stayed in this room and could not use the shower at all. 4. The towels and linen seemed like they stole it from other motels because everything was mismatched and rough. 5. My brother stayed in a different VRBO in the same facility and to see their condo vs ours was obvious that this owner does not upgrade anything.
