Blended family stau

3 sisters and their families stayed for 4 days while visit from NY for a wedding. The owner was nice enough to extend our checkout time since the house was not rented on our checkout day. This helped give us all enough time to get ready and have us a place to wait until the late afternoon wedding time. The pool Was clean and a great distraction for all Of us.

Annual Getaway Spot

This is our fourth time staying at this property. The pool was pristine and house clean! Blair texted that it was ready for check-in early and everything went smooth, just like usual.

Fantastic Summer Getaway

After a long drive from WI to MS, it was great to tour the house and settle in for a few days of R&R by the pool. The house is spacious and the beds are incredibly comfortable. Ten out of ten stars!

Family Reunion

This home was perfect for our family reunion. Blair and Michelle were great hosts. They responded to each request snd question in a timely fashion. We all loved the pool and back yard space.

Horn Lake Retreat

Our group consisted of eight adults and a pair of 3-year-olds. We had such a great time in the pool and cabana that we never wanted to leave the property! The owner provided a large Bluetooth speaker that ran all day long and gave us a light show at night! There are plenty of shopping options nearby both for essentials/groceries and retail therapy. We didn't take advantage of any of the nearby dining (because we didn't want to leave the pool!) but there were several great options within a short drive. It is a great place to relax, recharge and reconnect with old friends.

Very good place to stay with a large group

Great place to reconnect

Private venue perfect for a reunion of friends. House needs some updating/work. (Kitchen cook top, kitchen faucet, upstairs shower door, new cookware). Pool is deep so care must be taken if you have kids. Communication with owner was without flaw and easy to check in and out.

Dirty needs a lot of attention

We met at Horn Lake for family reunion. Upon arrival we were greatly disappointed with how dirty the entire house was. There were cobwebs with spider sacks all over the house. The bathroom toilets had urine on the outside. The glass tables still had water spots. Inside of appliances were dirty. One of he downstairs beds was so noisy that it was impossible to get a good night's sleep for the couple in that room The outdoor furniture pads are dirty and ripped. There was no wifi and no working tvs. We contacted the owner and he came immediately over. We did renegotiate the price of our stay and purchased cleaning supplies to attempt to clean enough to feel comfortable. The house needs a detailed cleaning, paint job and upgrading of bedding and some furniture. If we had not renegotiated the price of our stay we would have looked elsewhere.

Not what we paid for - No internet, freezer didn't work, didn't match pictures, not well kept

We were disappointed on so many levels in this rental. We’ve rented homes for 15 years and have never had anywhere near the issues encountered with this owner. The internet did not work. In fact, the company confirmed it had been cut long before we arrived. Prior guests reported the internet wasn’t working. When I told the owner, he asked that I contact the internet company, shared his account information. I did. The owner expected us to spend the day (another day after troubleshooting on the phone) waiting for tech to come. This is when we learned the line had been cut. The repair will take some time. He also asked me to contact DirecTV about remote not working for outside TV. I did not do this. We had to move one of the inside boxes outside to use the outside TV but then could not watch inside. Each remote is programmed to a specific TV so this was another challenge. The other big issue we encountered was the refrigerator/freezer. The freezer was not working properly upon our arrival. We notified the owner early the 2nd day when we noticed this. Our ice cream was melting, ice maker was dripping. He sent repairmen 3 times and finally ordered a replacement, it was late afternoon on the 5th day of our stay before it was replaced. We lost a lot of food, had to buy a lot of ice, and lost another day of our vacation waiting for a refrigerator to be delivered. We were told it would be delivered in the morning, but it was late afternoon before it arrived. Things do not match the pictures in the listing. The minifridge is not in the cabana, there is only 1 ceiling fan out there. The outdoor furniture really needs to be replaced. Cushions are flat or missing, several chairs are coming apart. One chair is missing from breakfast table. The dishes were so dirty/greasy we had to hand wash everything. The dishwasher does not clean the dishes. The microwave was so gross you would not want to put anything in it. The property is not well kept, there is trash scattered all over the fenced-in yard. The house needs a good cleaning. There are cobwebs, dust, and dirt. Our son almost cut his toe off when he accidently ran into one of the dressers due to a sharp lip on it. For the pros: the owner was responsive, the pool was wonderful on some very hot days, the cabana was conveniently located and kept us out of the sun. We asked the owner for a partial refund due to the lost days that we had to spend at the house because of the issues. He stopped responding to us.

Pool was great, but house needs repairs

Reviews from a YEAR ago concerning toilet paper holders torn off walls, freezer not working, door handles missing, wifi not working, kitchen faucet dripping, trash cans full, and house needing some extra cleaning all still apply!!!!! Gas grill was so full of grease that it was a fire hazard. Host has not done the maintenance to the property as I would have expected these issues to be fixed by now. Guess you better ask before you rent or bring your ice cream to put in the freezer. If these repairs were done it would be a great place. We enjoyed having a pool to ourselves. We took advantage of the outdoor seating for some of the meals and a place to be with the pool activities but out of the sun. Location was great to see sights in Memphis. Lots of pool toys to use. Most of the beds were comfortable. We did need to buy our own shampoo, paper towels and tissues.
