BIENVENIDOS!
Esta es una hermosa casa de estilo español escondido en la base de Oakland Hills en los distritos Montclair / Piamonte / Oakmore. Esta área es verdaderamente un tesoro escondido en el East Bay. Oakland es grande, con barrios diferentes. Estamos en un hermoso barrio, seguro !!
Fácil acceso a las autopistas y el transporte público. El tiempo de viaje a San Francisco está a menos de 15 minutos. Esta ubicación es un lugar perfecto para el clima es siempre cálido y soleado que SF.
La casa se encuentra en un exclusivo encantador barrio boutique. Rodeado de bosques de secuoyas y senderos para caminatas y simplemente disfrutar de la naturaleza.
Esta casa es increíblemente hermoso y lleno o calor.
Los huéspedes tendrán acceso a toda la casa del frente de la propiedad.
La casa tiene total privacidad para su estadía.
Hay 3 camas y un cómodo sofá con capacidad para 5-6 personas más tapetes, si es necesario.
También hay muchos restaurantes locales, tiendas de comestibles orgánicos, cafeterías, tiendas, oficinas de correos, bancos, yoga, masajes, parques y senderos cerca. ¡A solo una cuadra de distancia hay un mercado local (Rockey's) y una cafetería en la parte trasera que ofrece alimentos de calidad! También hay un restaurante tailandés y de pizzas a una cuadra de distancia. Es genial poder caminar a las tiendas :)
Hay transporte público en autobús a una cuadra de distancia y Bart cerca. Tenga en cuenta que estamos más cerca de las estaciones de Rockridge y el centro de Oakland bart. A unos 5 minutos en coche o taxi. Las líneas de autobús a bart corren y toman 30 minutos más.

First class place and first class host!

We thoroughly enjoyed our month at Laura's lovely home. It is exceptionally beautifully furnished. Completely unfussy, uncluttered ... just like her photos show. Everything was high quality, from the kitchen (important matters first!) to the comfy beds and living room furniture, the lovely accessories and wall art from her travels to Mexico, and fabulous plants in every room. She was wonderfully friendly, helpful and a "certified" rapid responder. Thanks, Laura, for a terrific experience. Best, Geri & George

Sweet Little Gem

This property is very charming and so is the owner. It's location is perfect for exploring the bay area without being in the heart of activity (and noisy streets). It's in a very cute and safe neighborhood, close to a park and walking distance to shopping. The kitchen, though small, is very well equipped with everything you might need, as far as cooking goes. Off the kitchen is a most charming sun room. There are 3 bedrooms with REALLY COMFORTABLE BEDS, one of which is a huge California King. 8 people total really is the maximum with 2 people staying in the living room. If privacy for all is important, I'd say 6 adults is optimal, but, for the price, it's still a great deal! As for the owner, how lovely! Once I inquired about staying at her property, she was very accessible and responded quickly and accurately to my emails. She is a traveling set designer with eclectic tastes that permeate this charming home. One last note; yes, there are 2 bathrooms but, one is attached to a bedroom located downstairs and, in order to access it, you have to go through the bedroom so, if there is someone in that bedroom... This certainly is not a deal breaker... just information. All in all, we had a lovely stay in a charming home with a very agreeable owner. I would certainly stay here again!

Laura's Casa -- a delightful ten day visit

Laura’s Casa is a cozy, clean, and very comfortable vacation home for visitors to the East Bay and San Francisco. Located in a quiet and safe residential neighborhood that is car-convenient to just about all of the natural, cultural, entertainment, shopping, and fine dining places in that Area that attract and delight a visitor. The Spanish/Mexican décor begins at the front door and continues through the pleasant living room with fireplace, large screen TV and music system. There is an immediate sense of novelty and romance that should especially please couples and small families with pre-teens and up. The large and very comfortable master bedroom emphasizes the casa theme, and features a great bed, large screen TV, music system, desk and printer, and shares a full bath with the second, entry-level bedroom. There is a smaller guest bedroom with its own shower bath on the level below, where you will also find a high capacity washer and dryer. The small kitchen boasts a Wolf gas range and a Sub Zero refrigerator that should satisfy both the cook and dinner guests in the rustic Spanish dining room alongside. Just off the kitchen is a small and sunny breakfast nook that overlooks a leafy patio below. We enjoyed our coffee and breakfasts there. We were three seniors visiting our children and grandchildren in nearby Piedmont and in San Francisco at Christmas. We very pleased with our stay at Laura’s Casa, named for the owner, Laura Howett, (a delightful and attentive "landlady", who clearly takes pride in her home and was nearby and available to inform and assist her guests, but never intrusive). All-in-all, our stay was a very fine experience. We hope to return each time we head West for a special family occasion.

Had a great stay at this home and appreciate how kind and communicative the owner was before and throughout our trip. The place could use a deep clean, but otherwise fit all of our needs. Thank you to Laura for sharing your home.

Nice home ..quit neighborhood

The house style is very nice but it need more cleaning. The third room and its attached littel bathroom are in the basement which was not noted in the webwsite ..the host is very nice and response immdiatley to our questions and requests.

Home away from home

My husband and I took our 2 teen age kids to visit family in Oakland over spring break. We visit Oakland frequently and have stayed at hotels and at my mother-in-laws. We choose this location as it is very close to my husbands mothers house. This was PERFECT. The kitchen is AMAZING! We cooked breakfast at home everyday and picnicked every afternoon. Master bedroom is HUGE. Quaint breakfast nook as well as dining room. The house looks small from the outside but spacious inside. In Oakland square footage is a premium! Not only great location for our family, but also great neighborhood in Oakland. Very easy to get on major freeways and roads. Hiking nearby. Close to Lakeshore neighborhood with very nice shops, yoga studios, restaurants. We had a great time and the home was a big part of it.

Montclair area of Oakland

This is a lovely Spanish style old house in a beautiful safe area, very close to the Piedmont border, and easily accessible to Piedmont Avenue, Montclair village, and Rockridge. The delightful owner met us and explained things to us when we arrived. The house is a treasure trove of beautiful things to look at and use. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, and the huge master bedroom with King bed and expansive views. The main bathroom was a pleasure, the old tiles preserved, and full of charming details. Our daughter had the Queen room and loved it for the same reasons. Our son and his girlfriend had the downstairs retreat and enjoyed the privacy and comfortable bed. As the owner warned us, the downstairs bathroom is work in progress, fine toilet and sink, but unworkable shower, [need hand-held, to aim the water away when getting in, and a single lever thermostatic faucet]. Easy Internet, Living room full of sofas, great TV, lots of objets d'arte to enjoy. The kitchen was lovely with super gas stove, great fridge, and well equipped with good pots and pans, leading to a pretty sun room, and again, pretty views of flowering trees. There were thoughtful touches such as basic ingredients and seasoning.

Charming bungalow!

Our group of 9 gathered here for our matriarchs 80th birthday. Laura (homeowner) was delightful to work with, allowing us early access to decorate for the surprise party! Who does that??? So accommodating! The decor is very creative and we felt so at home there. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space, easy parking and close access to the city. We will definitely return. Thanks again, Laura from our entire family.

This is a special environment to spend time in. I have noticed through all my travels the homes that have the most charm and love poured into them, have been the most gratifying. I hope you have a chance to experience our home in this manner..... It truly is a wonderful experience soaking up all the beauty and charm on a daily.
** This is NOT a party house.... Please only responsible, quiet guests welcomed. We need all guests' to respect the house and our neighbors.

Also, just as an added note to think about.... the house is not child proof for the little ones that love to open cabinets and explore along with all the other things toddlers love to do.. there are also stairs!
