My family and I enjoyed our stay. Everything was nice and clean, and ther was more than enough room

The home was clean ,and well decorated. The views of the lake were a hit amount my family!! Our only complaint was some of the beds were not comfortable , but everything else was stellar!!! We loved the home!!

This was our first time and it was really nice. The only thing is we know now to make reservations for activities. That information should have been provided when we called and ask questions about the activities there. We thought we could just go once we got there.

Christmas Vacation

We stayed for our family Christmas vacation. A plus is that each bedroom had its own bathroom! Although only one bathroom was up to date. Overall it was a nice comfy, cozy stay. Cons: The silverware in the drawer was dirty. It was disgusting. The Wifi ran very slow.

Nice But...

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is nice but certain things bothered me. I got called on March 13th stating that I had to come bring my id to the office, which was ok so I did. I then received a call on the 14th asking new bring it. I was lost because I had already came to the office with my id on Friday. The hot tub would not rise above 75 degrees. I had to call someone to come out and ha to flip the power switch on and off and wait for the temperature to rise. The maintenance man that came out was very nice and knowledgeable. They was a small hole in the wall when near the steps and there were brown stains on the walls going up the stairs, which looked like poop was slight smeared. Other than that my stay was nice.

The property needs to be stripped and cleaned before renting again!!

The property was terrible!! Smelled of mold which I am highly allergic to which hampered my stay because I got sick from being in the house for 10 minutes…the furniture was filthy along with the carpet.

The Stay at Light My Fire

Light My Fire is a nice, quaint home. But the home wasn't clean between guest, the downstairs carpet was heavily stained and one of the guest bedrooms had womensunderwear in the sheets,, so i spent 1/2 day cleaning the bedding on all the beds. I called office several times, with a promise a manager would return my call, which never happened. My family's stay was an unpleasant one.

Perfect for our group!

This rental was perfect for our multi generational family vacation. Loved the master on the main level. Having multiple living rooms and lounge areas was great so the teens could be in their own area. It was perfect for our family gathering.

A bit scary..

It was too small for our group. Felt everything was too tight. There weren’t much parking space but luckily we were able to park near the main entrance. With this house being on the hill was kinda nerve wrecking because the roads were icy so to get up to the house we would have to drive very carefully because it was too steep. There were some paranormal activity going on. First two nights was so so but the last night when we all actually felt some bad vibe and heard things. I normally don’t write reviews or say anything but I thought I would share this for those who are afraid like myself with things like this. The view was nice, I like the fire place and how close we were to the slopes. The rooms fit all family and love how we had our own bathroom. The price was decent but I wouldn’t rent this place again. Especially we all think this house could be haunted. But if you like having that experience then go for it!

Winter in the mountains can be unpredictable, so icy conditions can occur. We have not had any reports of haunting by previous guests. This home is modern and has never been a primary residence.

PERFECT for our family!

This property was great for my family of 10 to spread out and enjoy some down time. The home has a beautiful view of the lake and mountains and provided the perfect backdrop for our Christmas holiday.

Weekend getaway

The location and home were great for what we were looking for. Coffee shop, restaurants, hiking and beach access were close by. Deep creek lake is beautiful. Enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace as it was cooler in the evenings. Only downside was the grill - handle was broken and back burners weren't working. Would rent again despite the grill though.

Great Place to Ring In the New Year!

Overall this was a great place and would definitely stay here again. The property was clean and had plenty of space for our group. Not far from restaurants or Wisp Resort (about 5 minutes down the road). The house offered plenty of pot's and pans, plates, etc for cooking so that was nice. Awesome Bose sound system in the basement as well. Fun place, overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Do not recommend! My friends and my family have been renting vacation properties in the Deep Creek area for years now, so this review is based off of a long list of houses we’ve seen. We’re not particularly picky people, as long as we have a good clean space, we’re generally happy. Not the case with this house. For starters, despite the property being advertised for 10+ people, I would not recommend more than 2 families with 2 kids each at the same time in this house. Although the bedrooms are large and spacious, the common areas where we spent most of our time were small - 8 people would be comfortable, but that should be the max! We could not all sit together to eat or chat or play a game. The deck did not have sitting accommodations for that many people either (we were 5 families with small kids). The biggest concerns were twofold - general maintenance and cleanliness. From a maintenance perspective, the fridge was not working and even though we called and someone supposedly came to fix it, it still did not work properly and we ended up throwing away a lot of food. In addition the grill was out of gas - even though we were reimbursed, one of us had to make a run for a new bottle, so it was an inconvenience. If this was the only issue with this house, I wouldn’t even mention it, but it was one of many. From a cleanliness perspective, which is always my main concern, there was a lot to be desired - the jacuzzi was, for lack of better words, simply disgusting. Not sure when it might have been last cleaned and there was no trace of the proper chemicals being present. Toilets were also not cleaned well, shower liners (which can be bought at the dollar store) were old and disgusting and the downstairs bathroom floor was dirty. Last, the house must have had (or has) an issue with insulation - the whole basement floor, where one of the bedrooms is, had that musky smell.

A super way to spend Super Bowl weekend!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Three couples so we had our choice of bedrooms. I picked the master with the great Jacuzzi tub! Very cozy and comfortable. You do need four-wheel drive to get up the driveway in the winter though!

Nice Place-Could Use Some Updates

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was nice but there were some dings and bruises to the property that did not look new. With the amount of money they charge for the rental they could easily repair these issues. There are dents and dings in the drywall, their is not enough heating for the water throughout the entire house. There is 1 heating/air unit for the entire house 4 levels levels. There was leftover decor from the last guest, beer cans left from the last guest. We were unable to use the grill because there weren't any embers for it to work. The furniture is worn out and needs to be replaced (sofas and beds) The mattresses on the beds were very uncomfortable and crunchy (everyone had the same feeling about this.)Aside from these issues its a beautiful build with a great view of the lake and scenery of the county. Just needs some TLC, repairs and updates. I'm sure the owner is making more than just the mortgage back in the total for renting the place.
