Comfortable and Quiet Retreat

Perfect house for a quiet weekend away with friends. Outdoor space is gorgeous, and the attached dock was a great plus. Photos of listing are accurate. Kitchen supplies and house overall wasn't the newest/cleanest, but overall would rent again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was really nice. However it could use a deep cleaning. There were spider webs especially in the upper windows in the great room. Should add to checkout list to empty water from all coffee makers or items containing water. Had to descale Keith. Overall a nice house.

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Started VERY Rocky, but we managed to still have a good week. The house had not been cleaned yet when we arrived, and after the housekeepers left was still extremely dirty. We would not rent this house again.

70th Bday Gathering

Yes wonderful spacious home for a group of 14 to be comfortable. Entertainment was awesome pool table was the main game. I love the view and my dad loved the lake but couldn’t fish do to slippery leaves and the ramp was not occupied at the time. Overall perfect stay be aware of water pressure usage at the same time in the home.

Thanksgiving

There were things that were not in working order. Fireplaces, TVs, dryer, dishwasher and garbage disposal. We called but were not happy how they wanted to put us off. We had a very nice gentleman who came on Friday and fixed fireplaces and TVs. The dryer took 210 mins to dry a load of towels, the dishwasher leaked on the floor and the garbage disposal threw up today on me and the wall and window from the drain side. What a mess!

In Desperate Need of a Deep Cleaning and Update

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Commander’s Quarters was in a great location, on the lake but secluded. The home had basic and enhanced amenities in good shape but the overall condition fell far below our expectations for a $4500/week rental unit we rented for a special occasion. The property is in dire need of a deep cleaning and some repairs/replacements. The maintenance & office staff of Taylor Made was minimally helpful with our requests and close to unprofessional. I don’t have the space to outline all the problems here. There was an issue with a ceiling fan in one of the lower level bedrooms which was never fixed. Meantime we were left with an open hole in the wall with wires hanging out, dangerous. The hot tub at the house was minimally operational. There were padding pieces missing off of it and most of the jets don’t work since the adjustment knobs were removed. Most of the rugs and furniture were stained and dirty. In one bedroom there appeared to be a vomit stain. There were blood stains on some of the pillow shams. Two days before our vacation, we were contacted by someone from TM saying that a real estate agent would like to come by on our first full day there to show the house which would require us to be gone for a two hour block of time. We did not know before this that the house was for sale. I refused and the agent nicely said no problem. After our arrival, they called again this time with a demand that we give them a two hour block of time for “an owner walk through”. We rearranged our schedules and prepared to be gone. Then one hour before the appointment, they cancelled what they called a showing because the family could not get to DCL as planned. We also found out before our arrival that one of the amenities that we had specifically chosen this house for had been removed. The contract allows the owners to remove any amenity anytime. Why in the middle of a rental season? And the amenity is still on the description of t

Dryer did not dry clothes well. When we arrived rug in main room had not been vacuumed. Crumbs and trash under coffee table. Mold in showers. Grill ok but drip pan had overflowed onto deck. Loved the location. Driveway is very steep and has steep drop off. House has disposal so that was wonderful.

A Week at Deep Creek and Commander's Quarters

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, our week there went well. It's a nice place and suited our family well as far as the number of available bedrooms and bathrooms were concerned. With it's location on the lake and adequate bedrooms and bathrooms (and relative privacy from other residences), we would probably stay there again. That being said, this place could also use some TLC. Floors in the kitchen and eating area were dirty and sticky (we cleaned them up). There was dirty tub in the lower level (that we cleaned) that also had a drain that didn't close properly (this was fixed). Had to use plunger on toilet located in upper level near the game room(4 times).Hot tub contained mulch residue and leaked (it had lost nearly a foot of water during the week we were there). Dirty and sticky tables in eating areas (we cleaned them).Fire pit outside was full of beer cans and broken beer and wine bottles (we cleaned that up). Showers in Master Bathroom and in upper bath (where we needed the plunger) dripped. Mold was found around the edges of each shower (we cleaned them up).Decks were dirty and not swept. In the driveway, the metal drain was loose and caused a flat tire blowout when the repair man drove his truck over it. A handle continually fell off one of the doors going to the deck on the main floor. Carpets going upstairs from the main level to upper level had not been vacuumed. The clothes dryer takes three hours to dry a single load. Outside, the yard needs to be cut and bushes trimmed. For a house that's on the market to sell, you would think they would make an effort to it up a little better. We asked for a refund for whatever the cleaning people charged, because they are not doing the job that would be expected with what you are paying (in rent) to stay here. We have received NO RESPONSE from Taylor on this request. Most of this has been reported, so what I'm describing you should already know about.

I would suggest adding some bunk (twin/twin) or (queen/twin) to the rooms to provide flexibility to parties that are not married and/or just friends a place to sleep. Also, the waterway in front of the cottage should be NO WAKE! The boat traffic is too much. Even with floating docks damage is occurring to the shore.

We made the best of it. This weekend has convinced me that I would love to live on the water. The house was very well kept and very nice. The only small issue wss the whirlpool tub did not work.
