West Haven ‘24

Loved the gated community and quietness of the location. House was located centrally which was great. House could have been a bit more clean. Glitter from previous guests still everywhere. Sauna was lovely, however pool was turning green midway thru stay. Could use some updated decor but over all was comfy.

Family/work gettaway for 10 nights

Was exactly what the posting said it would be. Was in a perfect quiet gated community with wildlife right out tour backdoor. Wonderful for anyone whether it be that of family friend's ect...Clean and very easy to communicate with propery manager if needed(we did not need to communicate with them though). Spent many of days in the pool and spa. We have nothing negative to say about this property and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Locationwise its about 45 mins to disney World and thats only due to traffic. my husband took 3 rounds of golf and suggusts to go to Southern Duns golf course vs Champions Gate. Both golf courses were beautiful but Southern Duns was half the price and only a 10-15 min drive from the house.

Overall lovely

We had a lovely time and this is a great house. It's spacious though as some of the previous reviews stated, dated and could use some freshening up. The inventory list was very out of date but the house manager indicated we did not need to worry and even replenished a few items (mixing bowls and kitchen towels) upon request. Though the mattresses were older they were still very comfortable and we had plenty of towels, pillows and extra linens. I would recommend that the hot water heater be looked at as we were only every able to take two very short showers at the same time in order to not have cold water. Also, the hot tub never became hot which was a bit of a disappointment for me. The pool was heated perfectly and my daughter enjoyed endless hours. The house definitely is quirky as any house can be but the house manager was quick to give us the ins and outs of those quirks. I would recommend this home.

House need updates and professional cleaning.

Nice house but in need of many updates. Painting, missing blinds, house was infested with flies and spiders. Screen-in pool patio was torn and split. Bathrooms floors and carpets need to be cleaned. First floor bedroom mattress with a twin cushion was terrible. Only two TVs in the house. Barbecue grill and cooking utensils needs to be replaced. Only three face towels and no dish cloth. Screen-In pool patio areas needs to be replaced.

I stayed here with 4 of my coworkers. The subdivision was easy to access, close to I-4 and was quiet and private. There was no neighbours directly behind which was nice to have some privacy at the large pool and deck area. There was lots of chair and loungers outside for us to use, as well as some pool toys. We had trouble using the jets in the outside spa, but the pool maintenance man helped us get them going. A side note for maintenance to know is that the large pool light does not work, but this did not impact our stay as we did not swim at night. Inside the house was spacious and very clean. Most of the bedrooms were noted to be comfortable but one of the twin bedrooms mattress was a bit uncomfortable. The kitchen was well appointed. We would look forward to staying here in the future.

Brilliant villa

Have stayed in the Davenport area numerous times and this villa ticked all the boxes. Great location to everything that you need. Very Clean and well appointed with big south facing pool. There was even a large supply of lovely new towels. Owner was super to deal with and Chris from the management company was very friendly and helpful. We were there for 3 weeks and the pool was cleaned at least 3 times and Chris actually changed the time when he put chemicals in as some of the times we were using the pool.. very considerate. As the villa is in a well established area it’s a little older and the pool area could benefit from a little lick of paint but nothing major. Perhaps have the bottom layer of the screen on either side opaque to give you a little bit more privacy from neighbours but again it wasn’t a big issue. Pool area could do with a little table for use when using the loungers. There were plenty of loungers but the ones with the mattresses were the best. All in all we were delighted with our stay and are already thinking of coming back next year. Thank you

Beautiful home close to the parks

We absolutely loved our stay. There was plenty of space for the six of us. Property was clean and pool was great. The pool cleaners came twice during our stay, turning off the system, but the owner instructed us on turning it back on. Overall, we had a great time and would rent again.

Great villa, Geat location Fantastic!

Just returned from a 2 week stay, reading previous comments we found the villa very clean in fact spotless would be the best way to describe it. The pool was cleaned early in our stay and was cleaned again during our stay. Very spaceous and comfortable all the facility's are as described - we stayed in a few villas in florida over the recent years and this is one of the better ones. I would recommend this villa to any one looking for a large quality place to stay while on holiday vacation.

Lovely villa but needs more attention on cleanliness

Lovely big villa with nice comfortable beds in a nice neighbourhood and in good distance to disney parks. I was slightly disappointmented with the cleanliness, pool could do with a good clean and it looked as if the villa had not been recently cleaned prior to our arrival, surface dust and in drawers, there was a dead frog in the shower. Also cutlery and crockery needed a rewash.

Impeccable Property... Comfortable and Convenient

We've been coming to Florida for four years to watch our son play college baseball each spring. This property by far was the best one we have ever rented through VRBO. It was spacious, comfortable and had every convenience you could want. The backyard view with the Sandhill Cranes were beautiful to watch. It was very easy to get to the ballfields in both Auburndale and Winter Haven and anywhere else in the Rte 4 / Rte 27 corridor. When you think Orlando, thoughts typically go to theme parks and chain restaurants. We were also able to find lots of fun venues like Showcase of Citrus, Boggy Creek Airboat Rides, Tanners Lakeside Restaurant, Nothing Fancy Cafe as well as Taps and Corks and Lucky's Corner Pocket for karaoke.... Loved it all... Thank you so much!

disappointed

Although the house is listed a superior property it is in need of renovation. the property is about 15yrs old and so are most of the fittings.We had to contact the maintenence firm on a few occasions. These included asking them to reclean the toilets , which they did but not very well, light fittings not working , the pool not heating up, this was resolved by putting more water in the pool. There were a number if issues we didn't bother to mention as we wanted to enjoy our holiday not be in the phone to he maintenence people constantly. The owner was helpful in sorting out the above problems. That said the maintenence company should be doing a better job.

Beware the Hidden Charges

We are frequent travellers to Orlando and usually stay at Champions Gate as we like the area and location is good for the Disney Parks. We have stayed numerous times at West Haven. This villa is well located and is big enough for a large family with room to spare; it has comfortable beds, has all the necessary amenities and a good quality TV (although the UK football channel could not be found easily). Internet is good when working but our experience was intermittent service and we had to reboot it four times during out three week stay. Overall, the villa has the feeling of a rental property rather than a family home: cleaning at the start was only adequate (used tissues around the bed, internal baskets not cleared), there were bare wires in the bathroom where a light should be, there are water marks and cracks on the ceilings probably where there had been some previous problem with the air conditioning. We paid for pool heating but, if it was working, it did not heat the pool very much or the level was set too low. The insect screen around the pool was damaged (probably during bad storms prior to our holiday) with, seemingly, no attempt to fix it. Also, during our stay we had to deal with a leaking toilet. Beware that when we returned home our security deposit was reduced by over 30% when returned to us. This was not because we had done anything wrong but because the credit cards fees for the full cost of the rental was taken at the end and not as incurred. This was only explained at the end, website saying the parameters set by the owners and owners blaming the website. This left a bad feeling as it was not clear in the documentation without you reading all the fine print in the blurb. In addition we had already paid for a "processing fee" in addition to the rental cost that we are still not sure what it covers. Overall, a great holiday, great location, a well stocked average villa but poorly maintained with a price level above average. Confusing charging structure with too much competition locally so I would not recommend or return.

Wonderful holiday

This was the third villa we've stayed in and has been the best so far. Great location for all the parks and shopping. Villa is bright, spacious and well equipped and had everything needed for a family holiday. South-facing pool was fantastic and the villa is in a quiet neighbourhood. We had no problems during our stay but met a guy from the management company who was very friendly. We had an amazing holiday and would definitely book again.

1st Time Renter

Having never rented a vacation, we were very leery as to how everything would turn out. I have to say, the entire experience was great. The homeowner was very helpful and made the booking aspect of the home easy and straight forward. The instructions prior to the arrival were very clear also. Once we got to the home, everything was as advertised. We had four couples stay there and there was more than enough space. The open commons in the backyard provided privacy and extra space for playing games and watching the wildlife. Our group was there for our son's college baseball spring training and it proved to be an excellent location, both near the fields and near anything else central Florida has to offer. I would highly recommend this home to anyone considering a stay in this area. Usually, there are pros and cons to choosing between a hotel stay or a rental home but in this case, there were no disadvantages choosing the home. In fact, I don't think I will ever stay in a hotel for any type of vacation again.

we have rented through home away previously this was the best yet . Great communication with owner in a timely matter. Hopefully will rent in future. Great place with a reasonable price.Able to reach local management easily with minor issue

Awesome vacation

This was one of our best stays in a rental house in Florida. The house is equipped with all necessary items - 5 bedrooms , big TV screen, pool deck and pool, BBQ and WLAN Also a nice place for children. If something was missing then the rental management tools care during the next day. We can highly recommend this house and we will come back for sure during the next vacation in Florida

We love the quiet position with the view over the grassed area at the back and the balcony from the master bedroom is the perfect place for a relaxing glass of wine or beer whilst watching the sunset. Close enough to escape from the parks for a few hours before returning in the evening - if you want to!
