Lujo, finca de montaña rústica ideal para reuniones familiares

Ubicado a 4 millas de Durango Mountain Resort, el Irma J Ranch se encuentra en 8.700 'elevación en 14 acres de tierra del álamo temblón / abeto boscoso. La gran superficie de terreno ofrece mucho espacio para pasear por el bosque alpino y disfrutar de las impresionantes vistas de los acantilados de Hermosa, que se alzan al oeste del rancho. El Rancho Irma J es una mezcla única de lujo moderno en la casa estilo rancho de 3,800 pies cuadrados, y la belleza histórica en el granero, cabaña y otros edificios de principios de siglo. I can’t say enough good things about Irma J! First off Erin and Brad are amazing and so helpful. They were so awesome and helpful with any questions we had. We got married at the ranch and Erin assisted me with anything she could as we were out of town so the recommendations and accommodations provided were so helpful. The house and property are even better than the pictures. Anything you may need, they have it for you. The house was so comfortable, beautiful and clean! We can’t wait to come back! Absolutely fabulous property!

We were very pleased with how this property exceeded our expectations for both just the house to stay in and the wedding venue facilities!! They have provided more than we could imagine! The property was better in person than in the pictures! Wonderful house and layout for several families to stay and enjoy our time. Once we had our groceries, we had no need or desire to leave the property, it was great to just stay and enjoy everything! I highly recommend and will book the property again if we go back to Durango!

Wedding at Irma J Ranch

We had our wedding at Irma J Ranch and it was perfect! Brad and Erin were SO wonderful and easy to communicate with. The pavilion was the perfect place to host our wedding dinner and it was so cool having the saloon for our cocktail hour. We would recommend highly recommend Irma J Ranch.

Something to do for all ages!

We had a delightful time at the Irma J Ranch! Our adult children, their spouses, and 2 infant grandchildren enjoyed every minute, and are already talking about going back. We have stayed at several vacation homes in Colorado, plus Idaho, Arizona, and California, and the Irma J is our family’s favorite! Wonderful home. Well constructed home with beautiful and functional finishes. Beautiful windows to look out to beautiful country, well-furnished, window coverings where needed for privacy, GOOD QUALITY BEDS, lovely and functional bathrooms, spacious and lovely front deck. Well-stocked kitchen with great appliances. We enjoyed cooking almost all our meals at home. The Bar. We enjoyed playing shuffleboard and foosball at different times of the day or late at night. The Pavillion. Our favorite part of the property was probably the Pavillion. What a great set-up for pickleball, which our young adult children played every day, even on warm July afternoons. It was especially fun at night It’s completely open on one side so you can enjoy a breeze, and just enjoy the beautiful view of trees while playing or just spectating. Great location. We took an outing every day either to Durango, Silverton, Purgatory, the many roads behind Purgatory, the Nugget Bar/Backwoods Gourmet, fishing at lakes to the north. The Irma J is a great point to take off from. Brad and Erin are fantastic hosts and easy to access. They love the property and it shows. We'll be back!

Gorgeous home - Warm and welcoming

This is a well cared for home and ranch. I can't think of one thing we needed, that wasn't there. It's incredibly comfortable, roomy and has a fabulous kitchen. There is room to spread out & no need for fancy clothes! There is a special blessing on this property. I don't know if it's because of the family who owns it, or because of the celebrations that are held there, but it's a wonderful place.

Beautiful property and perfect location

Awesome Vacation House and Property

The house/property its amazing! The covered pavilion was a great spot to play with the kids during afternoon rains and tons of wildlife roamed through the property in the evenings. The owners provided excellent communication and were gracious hosts. This is a family home, not just a rental property, and it shows in every aspect. High end finishes and amenities are found in every room. We hope to come back soon.

Plenty to do inside and even more outdoors!

The Irma J is perfectly located north of Durango and is near many opportunities for adventure! The home was well-maintained, well-stocked, and extremely spacious. The pavilion, barn, and grassy areas worked well for our evening dinner and activities with extended family.

Perfect for small family reunion

IrmaJ exceeded our expectations. We loved the property: gorgeous view from the patio, beautiful house, incredibly well-stocked kitchen, indoor and outdoor games (pickle ball, corn hole, foosball, board games), wildlife viewing, and hot tub. Short driving distance to hiking near Purgatory and Haviland Lake, a little farther to get to mountain biking near Durango. The loft has a queen and two singles with lots of amenities but can get a little warm and doesn’t have shades on the windows (not needed for privacy, just bright early!) but otherwise was a perfect spot for our group. The owners were excellent with communication. We would defintely return!

Amazing Property

The Irma J Ranch was as amazing in person as it was on the website. The house was comfortable for 13 people and just a 5 minute drive to Purgatory Ski Resort. Our grandsons loved staying in the loft space. The kitchen was large enough to have three cooks in it at one time. The hosts were amazing to work with. The communication before, during and after our stay was greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend this property.

Gorgeous and well-appointed compound

The Irma J was very good to us! The photos of the property look great, but honestly didn't do it justice! We assembled 3 families for Thanksgiving this year and had plenty of space. The open concept living space was fabulous for the collaborative holiday cooking mixed with children playing or coloring, and of course football watching. Erin and Brad ensured that every single need of ours was taken care of - that's an extremely rare thing. Our kids loved the loft with ensuite bath and kitchenette above the garage, easily accessible through an indoor staircase. The adults were plenty comfortable in the 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms downstairs. The kitchen was nothing short of incredible for us. Everyone wants to own a Viking 8 burner + double oven stove now. That quality trickles down to the glassware, knives, cooking tools, pots/pans/bakeware, and even the tupperware! We used the hot tub every night and even some days - it felt great with 4 adults but we could've squeezed 6 people. It felt secluded being behind the house, but also was easy to get to via the paved sidewalk.

Family Memorial Service

The Irma J Ranch was exactly as it is presented an opportunity to gather with family and celebrate an event. In our case it was to hold a memorial service for our parents. The Ranch gave us space to hang out together as well as to have places for private reflection. We spent every night sitting around the deck's outdoor fireplace sharing stories and memories from years gone by. The view from the deck was spectacular.

Amazing Setting, Amazing Facilities and Amazing Owners....so Amazing ;)

The property far exceeded our expectations in many ways. The home was laid out in an intentional manner that allowed for several families to come and go. There were clear instructions and attention to details with accessible persons if there were any questions. (Thank you Paul and Brad!) We had a wedding with immediate family and friends and the vintage barn and modern cowboy pavilion were perfect for the reception and open bar and party afterwards. The vintage cabin allowed for overflow guests to have their private space. The wild flowers were truly gorgeous. Erin was intentional in providing information and basic needs for a wedding set up which made the day of very easy and relaxed. The hot tub and fire pit were wonderful for wedding guests and family in the evenings as was the large great room where gatherings and story telling would take place. The spacious kitchen with the large island allowed for several prep stations for various meals and coming and going from mountain activities. Our group enjoyed nearby river rafting, horseback riding, multiple hiking trails, fishing and UTV roads near Silverton on the Alpine Loop. Truly a wedding adventure week that will be long remembered.

Wonderful Mountain Retreat

Our family stayed at Irma J for a long 5 day weekend, during which we also hosted a memorial. Our stay was wonderful. The setting is beautiful. The main house, grounds, and outside buildings are all very comfortable. well-stocked and well-maintained. We were able comfortably house 11 guests of all ages, and welcome more for the memorial. The owners were attentive and available for any need, and kept us informed about various conditions that might impact our stay. I would highly recommend this rental if you have a large group or event or just need a weekend away.

Erin grew up in Durango, and Brad grew up on a farm/ranch in South Dakota. We were married here at the Irma J in 1986. The IrmaJ is a special place we are happy to share.

Erin was born and raised in Durango, and her family has been in the area since the 1800s, so we have roots that run deep in this part of the country. We were married at the Irma J Ranch in 1986, thanks to the kindness of owners Johnny and Irma McNamarra. The connection: Erin had waited on Johnny Mac since she was 5 years old (1960s) in her father's Durango burger joint. When the place came up for sale in 2012, we purchased it with the intent of spending as much time there as possible, and building it into a place for families to gather and play. The construction of the home and 'resurrection' of all the original buildings was completed September 25, 2014, and our daughter was married there two days later. In early June 2016, construction of a 2,200 square foot pavilion was completed. This pavilion, completely open to the west with views of the barn and Hermosa Cliffs, is ideally suited for a large family or families to gather, out of the weather if needed, and enjoy the beauty of the ranch and surrounding mountains.

The Irma J Ranch is a unique blend of modern luxury in the 3,800 square foot ranch-style home, and historic beauty in the turn-of-the-century barn, cabin and other buildings. The IrmaJ Ranch is close to Durango Mountain Resort (4 miles), and one mile from the Needles country store and the Old Schoolhouse Restaurant. It is located only six miles from the Rockwood train station (Durango-Silverton train). The barn has been converted to a three-story saloon for entertaining guests during the summer season. It has seasonal hot and cold running water, a 16' bar, foosball table and tons of charm. The cabin is quaint, with high quality finishing touches. A sauna house and seasonal shower house were built in 2014. A new hot tub was added June 2015. An outdoor movie theatre, projecting to a 10' wide screen on the outside barn wall, provides a novel form of entertainment in the summer/fall evening. The pavilion also has a HD projector, screen and state-of-the-art stereo/PA system. During the summer, on-site activities include horse shoes, kick-ball area and fire pit area. Off-site activities include road biking, mountain biking, hiking, four-wheeling, mountain climbing, train rides, golfing, and visits to area attractions like Silverton (26 miles), Durango (24 miles), and Mesa Verde (42 miles). Please note that event pricing (more than home capacity) is slightly different and will adjusted as appropriate.
