Esta casa de vacaciones es un luminoso apartamento de un dormitorio en la planta superior (cuarto piso, sin ascensor) de un edificio arquitectónicamente significativo (listado B) con impresionantes vistas situado fuera de la histórica Royal Mile en el centro de Edimburgo. El apartamento está a poca distancia a pie de las principales atracciones turísticas, locales de festivales, tiendas, vida nocturna y conexiones de transporte. El apartamento es amplio y luminoso y tiene vistas a los tejados de la ciudad. La moderna cocina está bien provista de vajilla, cubertería, vasos y utensilios de cocina, además de lavadora, nevera, congelador, cocina y microondas. Una polea suspendida del techo del pasillo es una forma tradicional de secar la ropa.

Great location!

The Apartment was just as described. Location is amazing, central to everywhere we wanted to go. Literally a 5 minute walk from the train station. It was up 4 flights of stairs but didn’t bother us in the least. We really appreciated the washer, and the drying rack hanging from the ceiling was genius! Thanks Matin for a great place to stay,

Perfect Location for our stay in Edinburgh.

This property is strategically located a short walk from the train station and above a few coffee shops and a corner market. Relatively quiet street and right next to the main street. It is on the top floor so quite a few stairs to climb but worth the effort with a rooftop access.

Excellent location

Nicely central with lots of excellent food and drinks nearby and easy walks to basically everything. Yes, there are lots of steps, but your in Edinburgh, so be prepared for lots of steps and hills. While the castle view out the window isn’t Edinburgh Castle, the views are great, and even better from the roof terrace.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. It's good to know that you enjoyed the location. Many old apartments in Edinburgh do not have a lift/elevator, so there are stairs to go up, but the top-floor views hopefully make up for the cimb. You are correct that you cannot see Edinburgh Castle from the apartment. Out of the side window of the living room there's a view of Calton Hill with the Nelson Monument, and the castle-like building is called the Governor's House, built in the early 19th century.

This property is extremely well located with a very nice host and had the amenities we were looking for. I searched and searched for a place that was located near the main sights and the train station AND that had a washer. I promise you that you won't find a better price for that wish list. I do think it's important to keep in mind that this is really an incredible deal and you aren't booking the Ritz. Be sure to read the listing - yes there are stairs and no there isn't a TV. It's in quite an old, listed building so it's going to have it's quirks but the listing is very accurate We found the bathroom to be quite small with no storage and the mattress to be a bit warn, however I will say there have been some upgrades to the kitchen and bath since the pictures were taken so the owner is clearly taking care of and making updates to to the place. He was also very responsive to questions. Oh and the positive about being on the top floor is that it's only one flight up to the shared roof deck with lovely views. We watched the marathon runners go by from there. Very cool!

Great location

This was a great base for our 3-day stay in Edinburgh. Very close to the train station, which was helpful as we had luggage. Everything was 'as described' in the apartment listing. Property was clean, kitchen was sufficiently equipped, with plates, kettle, microwave, etc. The rooftop provided a fantastic range of views across the city. Pity the weather didn't allow us more use of it! Would definitely consider staying here again, as it was a little cheaper than other properties.

We came as a group of 3 friends for a quick 3 night trip to Edinburgh, and these accommodations were perfect. The flat was very clean, and spacious. The bathroom was super nice and had a great detachable shower head option. The location can’t be beat. It’s 5 steps away from the Royal Mile. The train station is close by making getting around easy. And the views from the rooftop are absolutely gorgeous. There are a lot of stairs to get up to the flat, but we considered it a nice workout after over indulging on food and pints. Worth it for the rooftop alone. Mart

The apartment is as described in the listing. It is located on the fourth floor without an elevator, as specified in the listing. The apartment is very well located and fairly quiet, although you can hear partygoers on weekends, especially during the Fringe Festival, but this did not bother us. The apartment is fairly basic but clean and pleasant, even though there was a strange smell of “peat” or “wood smoke” hanging in the air all the time. The rooftop offers a beautiful view of the city. Communication with Martin was smooth. It's a bit expensive for what it is, but prices during the Fringe are high and you're also paying for the location. We had a great week, so I would recommend it.

Old Town Splendor

Arriving at our building in Old Town, Edinburgh, at first you may not be that impressed, but it is located within walking distance to “Everything”. Our flat was on the fourth floor, so we got our exercise at least twice a day. The flat was perfect, for us. We want cleanliness and amenities; everything was there. And the views from the flat amazing. You can see Edinburgh Castle out your window, or walk up to the rooftop terrace and see so much more. The host was so easy to communicate with, always responding promptly. There was no television, but that was ok with us. There seemed to be party goers on the streets at all hours, but we didn’t mind, just part of the experience. We will definitely stay there again!

As you mention, the apartment is on the fourth (top) floor, and because of the historical nature of the building a lift/elevator isn't available. However, the views are good. Since the apartment is in a city centre location, we cannot guarantee total peace and quiet, but the flat is away from the immediacy of the street because of the top floor location. We'd be pleased to welcome you back in the future.

Great Location - right on the Royal Mile

The location was stellar, the kitchen was easy to use and the flat had a washer and a great drying rack suspended from the ceiling. We were aware of the four flights of stairs ahead of time so it was not a surprise, though it was not stated in the description. Both mattresses needed toppers - even the bed mattress had springs that dug into my ribs. We cooked in the kitchen (pans were great) but struggled with the knives which looked like they had been used has hammers or screwdrivers at some point. None were sharp enough to cut any food item for food prep. Flat was warm with plenty of hot water. Grocery stores were conveniently close by.

Royal Mile Haven.

This apartment worked great for our stay in Edinburgh. Steps away from the Royal Mile and walking distance from the train, made this place just right for us. It is up 4 flights of stairs, so be prepared for that, but then you are on the top floor away from the noise and great views around you. Communication with Martin and the team was excellent and we had no issues with the rental.

Gemütliches Appartement im Herzen der Old Town!

Das Appartement ist gemütlich und sauber und besticht mit einer hervorragenden Lage! Insbesondere an Regentagen lädt es zu einer Teepause ein - man hat nicht den Eindruck, Urlaubszeit zu „vergeuden“, da man im Herzen der Old Town wohnt und aus jedem Fenster ein anderes Edinburgh genießen kann. Auch für längere Aufenthalte geeignet! Das Appartement ist gut ausgestattet. Die Dachterrasse bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick über das Dächermeer der Stadt, den Arthur‘s Seat und das Meer. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Der Kontakt zu Martin war jederzeit freundlich und unkompliziert.

Convenient location

This property is conveniently adjacent to The Royal Mile. It should be noted that there are 79 stairs to get to the flat. We did not realize this when booking. My traveling partner is a bit older than I am and had a little difficulty with this. You should prepare to bring your own supplies. This is a self catering unit. There is one bed and a pull out couch. Pull out couches in general have thin mattresses and one should be aware of this. The flat was clean. There is a washing machine inside which is helpful. Martin was very attentive when responding to messages. I am impressed by his prompt attention to detail. Basic no frills flat with superb location.

This apartment is on the fourth (top) floor and there is no elevator: unfortunately the historic buildings in the Old Town do not have facilities to add in elevators/lifts. We appreciate that there are stairs to climb but we hope you enjoy the view when at the apartment, and especially on the shared roof terrace. As you mention, this is a self-catering unit and there are grocery stores and supermarkets nearby. This is a one-bedroom apartment with a sofabed in the living room; for those who prefer full beds, we are happy to recommend two-bedroom options for your dates if you send an enquiry.

Great Scottish Flat

The location couldn't really get any better. Convenient to old town and pretty convenient to new town also. Very clean and the wifi was nice and fast. Understand none of these cool old building have elevators. Also, don't forget to check out the roof deck!

Great location - wonderful apartment

Can't beat the location, price or uniqueness of the apartment. Excellent value. Would do it again. My traveling partner said: "I could live in this apartment." Bathroom is functional; but a little odd (but aren't they all outside America?). All the amenities listed were present and everything worked.

Great location and a rooftop deck!

Great location! The property has lots of light and space. The rooftop deck gives views over the city and the ocean. The mattress needs replaced but other than that, it is a perfect place to stay in Edinburgh as long as you can navigate the 79 stairs up to the flat.

Excellent pied à terre

Appartement bien distribué, au calme et pourtant en plein centre du Old Town. Martin a su régler efficacement un problème technique et encore merci pour la nuit supplémentaire non prévue (avion annulé au dernier moment, surbooking sur British Airways...). Les 4 étages ne sont pas un problème si vous êtes en forme. De quoi faire les courses à proximité (cuisine complète et vaisselle en très bon état), resto/pub en tout genre dans la rue. Gare principale à 5mn à pied, tous les bus et trams à 10mn (Princes Street). Petites remarques pour que cela soit parfait : des torchons pour la cuisine seraient utiles et le matelas du lit commence à vieillir. Mais nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir. Edimbourg vaut plus que les 4 jours que nous avons pu y consacrer et ses habitants sont si accueillants que les parisiens devraient en rougir ! Une excellente location pour un séjour au cœur d’Edinburgh.

All in all a good flat for exploring Edinburgh and taking day trips out! Would suggest landlord look into getting bathtub replaced/repaired; may be nearing end of life with cracks in bottom and surrounding casing.

Flat just off royal mile

We stayed for a week in a very comfortable top floor flat just off the royal mile. Convenient to everything great views out the windows. Stairs up to flat only negative, probably fine if you are in good shape

Yes, there are a few stairs to reach the top floor, so it's good to be prepared especially when you have luggage with you. But of course the biggest benefit is the views that you get when you reach the top. And remember to go up one further flight and only the roof terrace for views of Arthur's Seat, Calton Hill and the sea!

Excellent location

The best part about this rental is the location. You are right off the Royal Mile, which is ideal. The views from the rooftop terrace are fabulous, as well as the ones from the apartment. The worst part is the four flights of stairs with luggage. But being an old building, it was expected, and sort of adds to the charm. The apartment was well stocked and a decent size. Yes, there are a few quirks, since it is an older building, but nothing that you can't deal with. We really had no complaints and really enjoyed our stay. Plus the booking was simple and Martin was great to work with. We just wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect location for touring the old town

Perfect location, comfortable apartment that is well stocked and surrounded by restaurants, pubs and a little store that has everything you would need for preparing breakfast,lunch, and basic meals. 5 minute walk from the train station. Be prepared for a four flight stair climb. 79 stairs to be precise. We are seniors and we made it. Not for the faint. But you get a bonus with the rooftop. A beautiful view in all directions.
