Este pequeño loft de montaña es un espacio ideal para una pareja que busca escaparse o para un grupo de tres viajeros. Las vistas del Golfo Dulce son realmente impresionantes y un punto de vista único para cualquier hombre de agua para descifrar rápidamente las condiciones del océano.

El Bird Perch está a unos 200 metros a pie de la playa justo debajo de la casa, el principal pavone surf break está a .8 millas de la casa y Punta Banco, que es una de nuestras playas más pintorescas, está a 1. 5 millas del Bird Perch.

El diseño arquitectónico único le da la sensación de un moderno estudio de día inmerso en un remoto paraíso de la jungla. We were in the midle of the jungle in total privacy and a very short drive to pavones wave. The kitchen has everything, it is a tiny house but it is perfect

A lovely bird perch earns its name!

We stayed for 4 weeks! The birds and monkeys visited us throughout our stay! It gets hot but it’s hot every where! The bedroom was nicely air conditioned. No tv. The groundskeeper Jeff and the cleaner Jenny were terrific

Amazing views and area

Very nice location and amazing views! Plenty of birds. Saw monkeys one day climbing wires and going into trees. We had a couple minor issues we brought to attention of property manager. House is small but for 2 people it is comfortable. We weren't there much. AC in bedroom is a plus! Owner needs to update pictures on rental sites. Exterior pics though are accurate and description with needing 4WD. Not a place though for someone with moblity issues or unable to climb hills or stairs. Would still highy recommend otherwise!

My bf and I had a wonderful stay at the bird perch. First of all, Gustavo, the host, is very accommodating, welcoming, communicative, and is happy to ensure your stay will be perfect. Secondly, the caretaker Santos is an absolute gem. All smiles and an all around good guy -- he brought us by fresh coconuts one day. Optional maid service is included as well, and flexible to your schedule. The bird perch is cozy, very private, and convenient. We had breakfast every morning on the balcony, went surfing, had ceviche or tacos for lunch in town (~10 min 4x4 ride), cooled down in the for a quick afternoon nap, and enjoyed the sunset either at the beach below or at the comfort of our balcony. Tap water was delicious (and comes from a deep well) so saved us $$ on water, and internet was consistent (which is a big plus in Pavones!) The house is on a very steep hill -- close enough to walk to the water, but a 4x4 is recommended to get to different surf spots, the grocery store, restaurants and to explore the surrounding area. (You are close to both Punta Banco and Pavones.) Great for surfing, swimming, beaching, exploring, and communing with nature. Thanks Gustavo, Santons and Yenny!

Great place to relax

I had visited with a large group who stayed separately in the big house further up the hill. This place had such a great feel to it; perched high above the driveway, great ocean view, and breezes that flow through. It's a perfect place for a couple (although I was alone) and even has a small single mattress in a small loft in the vaulted ceiling in the living area separate from the bedroom. Gustavo was a great host as well.

One of the most memorable times of our lives!

We arrived in January, 2022 and stayed for over 5 weeks. The view from the balcony toward the Pacific and Golfo Dulce is incredible. We woke up with delicious Costa Rican coffee on the balcony and watched the beautiful sunsets with a glass of wine or a pina colada made from fresh pineapple and coconut. A short walk (which includes a steep walk down and up the long gated driveway) to a picturesque beach with huge volcanic rocks or short drive to Punto Blanco-a pristine beach that you could stroll for hours and watch surfers (or surf yourself). We ate at 7 local restaurants-all delicious. The market in Pavones has the staples you need to cook in. Jeffery- our caretaker and Gustavo- our host- were very welcoming and accommodating. The Bird Perch is located in the treetops and we watched striking scarlet macaws flying overhead, toucans almost everywhere, squirrel monkeys feasting on the palm nuts and howler monkeys who were so fascinating to watch with their babies. If you are looking for luxury, this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for authenticity and an opportunity to live with the locals-stay here! One word of warning. The roads to get in and out of Pavones are treacherous and long, with deep potholes. Best to rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

Hidden gem in Pavones

Right off the bat Gustavo was excellent at communicating with us before and during our stay. We loved all the activities he recommended and he organized them all for us. Jefry who loved on the property was incredibly friendly and answered all our questions. We loved using local tour guides and loved eating at the local restaurants. Chef German cooked us two dinners that were fantastic. We look forward to visiting again and bringing our kids with us next time!

Stunning property

Truly an amazing property. Views of the gulf, ocean and spectacular sunsets. Tucked away up on the hillside, surrounded by the jungle, nature really comes alive. The staff was wonderful and helped make my stay in Pavones absolutely perfect. They set up fishing Trips and we were able to have a local family prepare a traditional meal with our own catch of the day. Activities and beaches were recommended that were amazing as well. I highly recommend this property to all.

Extraordinary Experience!

My wife and I were looking for a getaway experience and this fit the bill perfectly! First of all I can't say enough about our host Gustavo who helped us prepare for our journey and was always there for all our needs! He helped set up some of our "outings" while we were there which included a boating excursion and a surfing lesson that I will treasure forever! Gustavo also made a lot of recommendations as far as things to see and all the very interesting restaurants in the area, Pavones was everything that we hoped for in a quaint little getaway! This little studio overlooking the entrance of the Gulfo Dulce was just so awesome! We could just sit for hours looking out there and listening on the balcony whether in the morning with a delicious cup of Costa Rican coffee or in the evening with a refreshing glass of Imperial beer. The sounds of the crashing waves, all the different sounds of the jungle wildlife to the views of the ocean and spotting whales was just so relaxing which is what we came for! We highly recommend the Bird Perch to anyone that wants to get away from the stress of the everyday life you may lead and seek just the quaint simple things that are abundant here at this little studio and in Pavones.

Best place for a vacation/honeymoon hands down!

we had the absolute best time staying at this location. Breathtaking view, comfortable accommodations, and incredible experiences. Every need from towels, to linnens, WiFi, to having clothes washed by the maid who comes twice per week (for free), to having the maintenance personnel (Santos) available for ANY need, even if we should run out of gas somewhere while out and about; we were WELL taken care of. This location is very private as well, from our windows/deck we could not see another house in site. We felt like we had the whole Mountain to ourselves every morning as we would drink our coffee and look out over the beautiful ocean/rain forest. Gustavo (the owner) was very gracious and helpful to us from start to finish. Highly recommended to stay!

Exceeded expectations and absolutely fantastic stay I recommend the birch perch 100%

Nature is everywhere. Absolutely gorgeous view. Very nice one bedroom with all amenities that we needed and could have wanted. Gustavo is very responsive and great host and always available to help and guide. Very close to the point at Rio Claro for surfers and much nature to see on the balcony for everyone. Hands down 5 stars on location, amenities and hospitality! Only precaution is that 4x4 is a must. We have 4x4 so we are fine but I would not recommend driving up the steep hill (driveway) without it.

The perfect low-key getaway

First off Gustavo, the caretaker, does a fantastic job. He was always available to quickly answer our questions. The house is small but perfect. It's laid out for efficiency and comfort. The bedroom has A.C. and the bathroom is clean a complete with a great shower. All this makes the hot Summer months more manageable. The sunsets from the deck are amazing! We loved Pavones, it's how you'd picture a small rustic, laid back, surfing town. There are a couple of wonderful restaurants close by, but the house has everything that you need to prepare full meals. We drove in from Motaplo. The drive around Golfo Dolce was amazing. It's an easy three hour drive with a number of small restaurants along the way. We loved Costa Rica, we loved Pavones and we recommend a stay in the "Bird's Nest" to everyone.

Bird watchers/surfers Paradise!

This place is beyond words! This was our first VRBO rental and it will not be our last. What an incredible trip. The balcony captured every amazing sunset. We actually viewed a few whales in the bay also. Every morning we had breakfast watching the toucans and squirrel monkeys in the trees. We brought along a blue tooth remote speaker for music entertainment. It seems the birds enjoyed the tunes. The caretaker Santos was very nice and extremely helpful in finding us a panga fishing charter. We feasted on shrimp and fish for days. If you want to experiment on IF you could live in Costa Rica...this is the place to try it. Also just a great place to detox from society. This rental is in between Punta Banco and Pavones point. Great surfing and beach walking. I do recommend having a 4 x 4 to get to the rental. The road is concrete but it is a very steep grade. The climb is best in 4 low. The climb is so worth it. The local restaurants or super markets can provide you with anything you desire.

Wow…a spectacular view!!

We asked for Cozy and private with a beautiful view…we were not disappointed!!! We woke up each morning to the sounds of howling monkeys and birds singing. With coffee and tea in hand we stepped out onto the balcony to greet an absolutely stunning view of jungle scape and the Pacific, and fresh coconuts & papaya sitting at our doorway, delivered to us by our host. Just when you think it can't get any better, there's the sunsets, nothing short of spectacular!! Each day ends with the sun setting right in front of your eyes, each sunset completely different, and often were more magnificent than the one before. Everything is exactly as was described to us by our host, Gustavo. Our studio was very clean, with a comfortable bed, welcomed ceiling fans and air conditioned bedroom. One note though, as I am 6'6", the studio can be a little tight for someone my size, that said two average sized people would fit very comfortably. Even though there is a loft for a third person, the Bird Perch ideally only accommodates two people comfortably. You will need a car for this location, preferably an all wheel drive…the Costa Rican driving and road experience is, well, quite an experience! We didn't do a lot of touring while here and we prepared most of our own meals. The unit was well equipped. There was a nice little Italian restaurant we dined at a couple of times. It's about a 3 minute drive from Bird Perch. The owner is a very nice lady and accommodating when requested to modify the menu. The beach really is a 2 minute drive, and can be very private as well. We spent much of our time lying in our hammocks which were strung up in the trees, right on the beach…with no one around…! Thank you for everything Gustavo, and for helping to create great experience. Yes, we highly recommend this location.
