We had a great week at this beautiful home. My family had plenty of room and the kitchen was fantastic. It was fully stocked with anything you might need. My son spent so much time playing the ring toss game downstairs and now we will be getting him his own. The corn hole boards was another nightly form of entertainment for the older crowd. Christina was always available to answer any questions I had. I would recommend this home for a nice family vacation.

Unfortunately, this guest was evicted after only staying two nights. Jake originally booked with us for 2 adults and 2 children (fiancé and family). He brought one young man and zero family. This made us question his intent for the week. Upon arrival to the home on Saturdays we do spot check the cameras to ensure the persons on the rental agreement are who is checking in. Ocean Lakes policy states that quiet hours are from 11pm to 7am and there are to be no golf carts out after 11. ( this is subject to fines by security). We do turn our cameras on at night for the protection of our property as well as our guests. Jake’s first night we had to contact him at 12:15am (when we turned the cameras on) to return the golf cart to the home. Sunday night/Monday morning at 1:40am an unauthorized female (not fiancé) arrived at the home with them to stay the night. On Monday there were several people that showed up at the home all throughout the day. If you are looking for a house to gather with friends and party this is NOT the house for you. We are a family oriented home. If you are a family and looking for an exceptionally clean house, one that will look like pictures and provide what is advertised this is the home for you. We work extremely hard to provide the best for our guests. We have been renting for 10 years. Obviously this guest’s review is to retaliate against us for his poor decisions he made and the accountability that followed. If you are looking to book and have any questions and/or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me. 🌴😎

Gorgeous and Relaxing Beach house

The owners were great to work with. They responded quickly to my request for rental. After our stay our deposit was back to us within days. This house is not like any other house we have rented in Ocean Lakes. This home had beautiful beach decor but it was not loud colors. The outdoor area was amazing! I didn't know if I should drink my coffee (they have a Keurig) on the deck in the chaise longer or in the relaxing little outdoor nook downstairs. Furniture was beautiful. It is obvious a lot of hard work has gone into making this not just a beach rental but a high end beach home away from home. Thank you Richard and Christina for a very relaxing and fun filled vacation. I haven't rode a bicycle in years and we had a blast. We went swimming, we relaxed at the beach, played basketball in the arcade and played a game of putt putt. Riding the new golf cart around in the evening was definitely a high light. I really can't say enough good things about your home except we will be back.

Beautiful Home with All the Amenities You Could Want

The house is beautiful, very clean, and filled with high-end appliances, cookware, granite countertops, and composite decking with lighting. Under the house is a nice gas grill and a great seating area with a TV and a Tiki Bar. Also, bikes, cornhole boards/bags, beach toys, and chairs are all provided. The golf cart is a six-seater and VERY nice. Cleaning supplies are found under the kitchen sink and both bathroom sinks. Also, hand soap, toilet paper, and paper towels are there when you arrive. These are examples of the "extras" that the owners have supplied to make your initial arrival very convenient. The owners have thought of everything. The house is located midway down a dead-end street, so there is very little traffic except for the traffic from people staying in homes on that street. Also, the house is located towards the back of Oceanlakes. This is good because guests do not have to deal with all the noise and heavy traffic due to: the nightly golf cart parades on the beachfront road; people hanging out near the beach playing loud music, laughing, screaming, and talking; campground site noise; or the pool/shopping area noise. The large golf cart provides an easy way to pack up all your beach/pool equipment and head to the beach or pool each day. You won't be disappointed with this house. The owners are easily accessed and immediately answer (text or phone call) any questions you may have. They are very helpful and informative. We would definitely rent this house again.

Exceeded our Expectations

The owner was clear that they want our experience to be more than just a place to stay and they totally delivered. The home was spotless and beautifully decorated. Every thing we could possibly think of needing in a kitchen was available. Instead of just "making do" with a beach home while we're on vacation, we felt spoiled. We underestimated the benefit of the outdoor shower (with hot water!) because it was literally another place for a family member to shower after the beach/water park. My kids said showering outdoors felt like being in a spa :) The golf cart was also a great perk of staying here. No complaints! Just grateful renters.

Nice home with many rules ...pricey and not worth it.

This was our 10th stay at Ocean Lakes and we’ve always had an amazing time except for this one. The property was clean and well appointed with nice amenities but you need to be prepared to be watched by the owner e.g. we drove their golf cart to the beach and parked and locked it with the provided lock. Within 15 minutes of our arrival we got a text from the owner indicating that they noticed we had not locked the cart. I had to walk back to the cart snap a pic and send it to the owner proving we had locked it— it wasn’t the way they “normally” do it. The rules are many which makes the home clean and orderly but truly a hassle for example: on the deck, there is a great picnic area but you are not allowed to eat at it nor use any sunscreens etc which make it basically unusable. The neighbors even questioned why we didn’t sit at the table - we explained and if we wanted to eat outside we had to take our food down the long flight of stairs to eat under the house- not easy with children in tow. Two different neighbors offered the homes they were staying in, the owners numbers for us to rent in the future - we learned that many previous renters had done this due to the stringent rule requests ( posted EVERYWHERE). This is a nice quiet street but this home is not worth the headache for the very pricey rental fees- we were so tired of it that we decided to leave a night early— there are too many other nice options on this street.

We have been renting our homes in Ocean Lakes Myrtle Beach SC for 7 years now. We work very hard to ensure each of our guests have a nice, clean home to vacation in that offers all the amenities we have in our listings. We do have rules that are all layed out in our rental agreement. We do expect respect and consideration of the home and things we offer so the next guests can have the same enjoyable experience. We encourage our guests to use and enjoy all the amenities we offer. Our homes are not for parties or gatherings, they are for family vacations. We go the extra mile to meet and exceed your expectations. We realize a lot of guests only get one vacation a year and we want your stay at our home to be the best it can be. *our home and amenities were not respected by this guest. We had a bunk bed broken in half, cleaning fee was not paid at departure and rules were not followed.

Thanksgiving at the beach

We have stayed at a couple properties at Ocean Lakes and this is by far the cleanest and has the nicest furnishings. We also enjoyed the brand new 6 person golf cart. The sitting area and Tiki bar area under the home was a great place to hang out with family and friends on the cooler nights.

My family and I had an amazing week at the beach, and were more than pleased with our VRBO rental. Christina’s house was the cleanest rental home we’ve ever stayed in. The owners obviously take such pride in their house! I highly recommend this property and would absolutely stay there again.

Fantastic stay

This is a beautiful option for Ocean Lakes. We RV, but the late night noise in the campground area has become an issue for us. We love Ocean Lakes, so we decided to rent a home this year. Somewhere in the Sun is perfect. Great outdoor space, enough room inside and the cleanest rental home I have experienced. The dead end street limits traffic and was very quiet in the evenings. Highly recommended!

Paradise!!

The house is exactly like the pictures. Very clean and well taken care of. The house comes with 4 bikes, raised golf cart, boogie boards, corn hole boards and bags, beach chairs and a cooler. Is very nice not to have to pack and bring all these needed items for a long weekend. It made packing so much easier. The Kitchen is very well stocked with pots, pans, kureg, crock pot, margaritaville drink maker the whole works. Love being able to sit outside every day and night for breakfast and dinner. Also the fact that the house is towards the back and on a dead end road, my son was able to ride a bike without the concern lots of vehicles. The house is truly amazing and we will definitely rent again. My favorite house by far in Ocean Lakes. The owners are also very helpful and respond quickly. Best summer vacation ever

This is an awesome place to take a vacation. It is VERY CLEAN This place has everything you would need for a wonderful vacation. I really enjoyed the lounge chairs on the upstairs deck. They were so comfortable I even fell asleep on them. I enjoyed the complete outdoor lounge set downstairs with the outside tv and the waterfall. It was very relaxing. They even had bicycles for the entire family. The inside of the home was very beautiful and comfortable. The washer and dryer was a hit. I was able to keep fresh towels for the beach and for our baths everyday. I didn't have to take home tons of clothes to wash when I got home. The owners was wonderful. They text us back and forth to make sure we had everything we needed to make our vacation great. I would highly recommend this home to everyone that wants to have a great vacation with no worries. Spotless, beautiful & comfortable with exquisite decor

I have been coming to Ocean Lakes with my two boys (ages 6 & 11) every year for the past 4 years. This was the BEST home we have stayed in. The pictures do not do it justice. This place is absolutely spotless. The appliances are all top of the line. The decor is amazing & I packed so much less this summer because the owners offer so many amenities! Bikes, cornhole boards, beach toys, beach chairs, boogie boards...I cannot even name all of them! The golf cart is fun & my boys loved hanging out under the house at night while they ate dinner & watched TV next to the fountain & cute fish lamp. They never comment on decorations or interior design, but they still keep telling everyone how great our house was! The owners are wonderful to work with. They make sure you have everything you need & make every transition throughout the process easy. We already booked our stay with them for next summer. These owners care about their home and the people who stay there. If I could give it 10 stars, I would.

Best Vacation Rental...It has it all!

Highly recommend this home in Ocean Lakes Campground. My husband and I have been bringing our children, now 12 and 14 to Ocean Lakes for the past 11 years and we have stayed in several different rental properties and this was one by far was one of the best! Richard and Christina not only welcomes their guests, but they make you feel right at home offering all the amenities any vacationer/family could ask for. They were also wonderful to deal with from the start all the way to the very end of our stay! We will be back in 2018!!!!

The Perfect Vacation House!!!

This house was perfect for my family. It was beautifully decorated and very well kept. The cleanliness of the house was comforting. The front porch and sitting area allowed me and my family to relax and the outside shower was a great amenity. I was able to relax and have a memorable vacation with my family. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay in Ocean Lakes, this is your place!
