Aloha David, and mahalo for your review. We're sorry you were disappointed with the home. The only problems you reported during your stay was the floor needing cleaning and a sliding door not locking. Our housekeepers guarantee their work, so we immediately sent them back to clean the floor when it was reported to us. We also sent a maintenance worker to fix the slider that day but you didn't leave the key in the lock box as instructed, so was repaired after you departed. You didn't report to us any leaky faucets, or we would have sent a plumber to fix them. Neither have we found any leaks in the home since your departure. At the time, you told us that the problems you reported were not much of a concern to you, so we are puzzled by the extreme disappointment you have expressed now. We do our best to address any concerns of our guests, and we apologize if we were inadequate in our response during your stay.

Aloha Donna, and mahalo for your review. As can be seen in the photos on our listing, this is an older home and rent is charged accordingly. You received a considerable discount from what the Cliffs management charges for a one-bedroom rental, and way below the average for Kauaʻi. You let us know that the door lock and the ceiling fan failed, which we repaired on that very same day. Rust is something we have to deal with here in the subtropics, where humidity is much higher than on the mainland. We do not just throw away into our limited island landfill when functioning items become rusty. As someone's personally owned vacation home, it's decorated as they desire. The pictures can be seen in the photos of the home. Being located in the subtropics, Kauaʻi also has more insect pests than you will find at home. Ants are attracted to any food left out, which is why we instructed you to clean up after preparing meals and not leave dirty dishes in the sink.
