We had a great time, enjoyed the property! Wonderful location, view was very nice, peaceful, kitchen was well stocked, all was clean, host was organized and communicated well. It needed a few repairs and some upgrades. Thank you!

Great location, perfect for our family.

Other reviews mentioned the unit was very hot, but the evening breeze and all the windows open made it very comfortable. We appreciated the extra air mattresses, fans, and beach equipment. The location close to Hideaways Beach is perfect. The fully stocked kitchen was nice since eating out in the area is so challenging with crowds. We would definitely stay here again, it was perfect for our family of 5.

The upstairs bedroom was extremely hot on hot days but otherwise everything was functional and comfortable. The best thing was the location with close proximity walking to Hideaways Beach plus the trail down to the even closer private local beach. The pool was closed for construction most of our visit. Very nice but basic unit.

We loved this rental for our 6 day Kauai vacation. The house had so many essentials which were nice touches. Portable fans in every room. Stocked utensils and cook ware in kitchen. Even basic kitchen staples like olive oil, sugar, coffee, etc. I was reallyImpressed with the amount of beach gear like chairs, beach mats, boogie boards, basket of snorkel gear and flippers, pool noodle, etc. I didn’t realize these items came with the rental and it was a lovely surprise for my family. The house is spacious, it was very clean. No bugs at all but we did take out the trash every day per the instructions. The outdoor patio was so relaxing and we enjoyed our breakfast outside every day. The walls are not paper thin. We didn’t hear our neighbors at all. Parking was never an issue. The best part of this rental was the private beach and path from the condo complex.ALS the pizza restaurant hideaways pizza was super convenient being in the same complex as the condo. Pool and hot tub are so relaxing. Never over crowded. It was a lovely trip and my family willDefinitely book this house again! Good location to get to hanalei. We spent most of our time in hanalei and haena. The home was a Good launch pad for us. Will stay here again!

We had to take cold showers every night and have three fans on us to be able to sleep. Other than that, it was OK.

Aloha and mahalo for your review. As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is not air conditioned, which is indicated in the property's description. In order to cool the home down, please open the windows and lanai doors to allow the abundant sea breezes to flow through. average nighttime temperature during your visit was 73.6°F. If you find that uncomfortable, we recommend that you choose a home with air conditioning.

Reviewer Comments: Started off bad with the upstairs room being over 90 degrees. Would have been nice for the property management company to open some windows and turn on fans prior to us arriving. Also the BBQ that is listed is .2 miles from the condo and is down 100+ ft so basically not useable. Thought the condo was going to be a good value but it was not. I wouldn’t stay here again due to the condo being in rough shape and the upstairs is unbearably hot even with the windows open all day and the daytime temp only getting into the mid 80s. All of the ceiling fans and floor fans need replaced and barely move much air.

I did not anticipate the musty smell, multiple cockroaches, excessive heat (without an ac unit in the bedroom), lizard droppings on the kitchen counters, and dirty carpets. Our extended family also rented another condo in the same complex, and the difference was stark.

Princeville Getaway

We had an absolute great time with family . The Condo was stocked with everything we needed for cooking dinner in, or a day at the beach! The upstairs bedroom gets hot in the afternoon, but cools off at night. Absolutely great location, and wonderful vacation!

A nice place.

This property could use some updating and TLC. The slider door out to the Leni is almost inoperable. One of the large glass doors came off the track more than once. Pretty dangerous if it were to fall. I seriously doubt this could be opened easily by an average person. Most of the fans in the unit are old, noisy, dirty, & two of them didn’t work at all. An older, rechargeable flashlight was left plugged in the upstairs bathroom. Found it to be VERY HOT upon arrival so it was left unplugged. That is major fire hazard as is the plug strip next to the bed. The directions to the cable / TV are outdated & wrong for the system in place now. TV although newer, has big vertical white spots throughout the picture. Not that we spent much time watching TV, but it needs to be addressed. Multiple bulbs / fixtures are in-op throughout the unit. (Kitchen, downstairs bath, upstairs, etc.) It would have been nice to know this is NOT a single level unit in advance. Not noted in Vrbo… In this day & age, a ductless A/C unit or two would be a very attractive addition to unit. Just so you know, I’m a retired firefighter & have my own rental properties. We enjoyed the grounds, pool & surrounding area. Hope this review helps you and others.

Location location locationThe property was great. You do need to do a little upkeep. The screen door did not work properly and one of the toilet seat was very loose. The property itself was beautiful and the location was marvelous!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. A few days the upstairs bedroom got warm in the afternoon through the early evening, but by the time we went to sleep it was cool enough using the fans to draw in the outside air. Great location with a mountain view and a 1 minute walk to the cliff for a spectacular ocean view. The grounds are well maintained and it was fairly quiet. The price was a great value. We would definitely rent this unit in the future.

Uncomfortable, bare bones condo

We would not recommend this condo, unfortunately. Overall our stay on Kauai was amazing, but having to come back to this place every day was a bummer. The condo lacks any kind of "homey" feel, there are no amenities aside from a few beach towels and chairs. Things were broken and we had to purchase our own trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaner, and laundry detergent. Never had this experience with any other rental we've stayed at. The beds and pillows are horrendous- need to be updated. The worst part was the heat- its hot this time of year, that we understand- but the condo doesn't have black out curtains so the place just bakes during the day. Even with all the fans blazing and windows open it was unbearable at times. It didn't feel very clean and overall felt like we paid WAY too much for what we ended up with. Do yourself a favor and stay at a different condo. Pali Ke Kua is an amazing location and we saw some much nicer condos on the property

Aloha Katy, and mahalo for your comments. Although we’re glad you enjoyed your stay, we are very sorry that you were disappointed with our home. We’re not sure what amenities you felt were missing, but we supply chairs, towels, cooler and umbrella for the beach, a fully equipped kitchen with pots & pans, prep tools, table settings, and a full compliment of appliances, and the home is fully furnished. We also supply a starter set of trash bags, paper supplies, dish soap, laundry detergent, and dish-washing detergent, but as with all vacation rentals you are expected to purchase more when the initial supply is depleted. You didn’t explain what you were dissatisfied about the beds, which were purchased just a few years ago. Unfortunately we did have record-breaking temperatures during your stay, but heavy curtains would only make the unit hotter. Since the condo is situated so close to the ocean, open all the windows and let the trade winds cool the rooms down. Since you made your reservation on very short notice, you probably didn’t compare the price of this condo to similar ones, either at Pali Ke Kua or on the north shore of Kauai in general; you would have found it to be quite economical even before the discount you received. Please also note that the only thing you contacted us about was to receive a refund for a baby gate you purchased, and you didn’t inform us that you had any problems during your stay.
