The very best in the Housatonic and Canaan valleys. We've stayed everywhere over 20 years of family visits and this house and its hosts win hands down. It's become our home away from home. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, spacious, well-provisioned, and attractive. The hosts are nearby, super-nice, and super-responsive. Couldn't ask for more!

We truly enjoyed our stay here. The house had accommodations for all ages, and my kids really enjoyed the kids' sleeping area when they just wanted to relax. You can't beat the view from the home! The changing of the trees by the creek were so beautiful. Also, Jessica went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. We look forward to staying here again on our next trip to CT.

Wedding Retreat

Our family stayed here for my son’s wedding and the house was perfect. Single level for small children and adult with limited mobility. It was quiet and beautiful surroundings with Blackberry River babbling heard from the back deck.

Wonderful Family Holiday Gathering in CT

Property was exactly what we needed to have our family holiday gathering. My family from Maryland, Arkansas, and Pennslyvania came to Connecticut to meet up with my in-laws to share the holiday. Jennifer was amazing and she even went the extra mile to put up a Christmas tree for us and provided ornaments so we could have a decorating event. The spacious ranch layout and the accessability to the house made possible by the ramp in the garage was perfect for my father-in-law. The entire family had a fantastic holiday thanks to Jennifer and this incredibile property. The house has everything you need as Jennifer and Cricket thought of every last detail. Thank you so much for making our family gathering a wonderful and stress-free experience. Many great memories and photos that will last a lifetime.Happy Holidays to all!

Love this house

This was the second time I stayed here with my curling team. 3 nights, playing in a tournament at the nearby club. The house is extremely comfortable. Jennifer is very prompt and very friendly with her responses to my questions. No issues whatsoever.

Home Away from Home

We've stayed in this lovely home so often that it's become our home away from home when visiting the grandkids. There is no other place in the area that compares, in terms of comfort, cleanliness, and convenience. Believe me, we've tried them all. Jenn and Cricket are wonderful owners, always accessible and welcoming. We look forward to our next visit!

Great Stay!

We had a wonderful stay here. The house is very spacious and was perfect for kids with enough spaces for everyone to sleep and run around. Jennifer was super responsive (within minutes) and friendly and we experienced no problems with the house. My only regret is not being able to spend as much time as we wanted at the house to utilize their amazing backyard (we we had a family wedding which took us away from the property each day). Highly recommend this place - especially to families with kids!

A great house for a relaxing weekend

The host was great in their communication, and their house was perfect for a weekend getaway. They provided lovely touches that enhanced our stay. My friends and I are definitely going to stay with them again in the future!

Great stay for a couple days!

Wonderful property, with a lovely backyard and plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable. Would love to come back with a bigger group to enjoy the big living room and outdoor space but it was perfect for spending a couple days while in town for a wedding. Host was always responsive and accommodating.

Great Stay!

We were in town for a Hotchkiss graduation. The location was perfect for that, just a short drive. The house was spacious and clean and plenty of room to hang out together or if we wanted to hang out in smaller groups we could spread out. We loved all the little details that Jennifer added, we were greeted with some delicious Cabot cheese, and homemade soaps made by a friend of hers. The bathrooms was well stocked with necessities like q-tips, floss, etc. The kitchen was well supplied too. There were extra blankets and pillows. We also really appreciated Jennifer's flexibility with allowing us to check-in whenever we arrived since we got stuck in traffic and didnt arrive until very late, 10pm. Great stay all in all.

Nice place

Enjoyed our stay at first. Host was very nice and no issues to begin with. Second night are when the problems started. Had some people over after a Jack and Jill (15 max). Got a phone call from the host at around 8:00pm saying everyone needed to leave. I agreed and as I was getting people out of the house, 5-10 minutes later, the host and her husband showed up to the house and came in the front door and kicked everyone out and said that everyone, including myself and my 3 friends who were the original guests, had to leave. With nowhere to stay we had no option but to drive all the way home in the middle of the night. Didn’t mean no harm, the friends weren’t staying the entire night, they just came over to grill some food and hang out for a bit. Owner and husband were good people and I have no hard feelings towards them at all, however a bit too strict in my opinion.

Home away from home

Since we stay in this lovely home at least three times a year, it's hard to add anything new. It's absolutely perfect for our needs. Modern, comfortable, spacious, great for visits by the grandkids, gorgeous setting. The owners are sweethearts and extremely attentive. What else to say? Well, we'll say it again next time too!

Relaxing Country Retreat

We enjoyed a five day stay relaxing with our family of 5 adults, 1 child and an infant in this beautiful country home. Our daughter uses a wheelchair and we found that the home was very accessible for her. There is a ramp in the garage to enter the home and the bathrooms all have stepless shower entry. The house was very clean and provided us with everything we needed. The family room is quite large and allowed us to comfortably gather to play board games or watch movies. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and dishware etc. if you plan to eat in, but we also found some very good restaurants nearby. The hosts met us when we arrived and were very welcoming. We didn’t require anything during our stay but it was nice to know they were readily available if needed. We would love to return in the future for another family get together!

This property is so beautiful! It’s so relaxing with lots of land to play on or just sit on the deck and enjoy! The small river in the back is peaceful. You can fish in it or just sit in it and cool down.
